  Why doesn't HDDlife® work on my computer? Instead, it displays the message that no disks are found. First, make sure that you use the latest drivers for your system. We encountered compatibility problems with the following drivers: Intel Application Accelerator, nVidia nForce platform drivers, and VIA 4-in-1. But, all these problems are fixed in the latest versions of the drivers. To be safe, download the most recent version from the manufacturer's site and install it. HDDlife® supports only IDE and Serial ATA disks, but does not support RAID disks. IS it correct way?

• Using External GPS Device w/ Android via Bluetooth

  Hello, I am writing an Android 2.0 application that is going to be used in a somewhat remote location. There will be no internet connection available and it will be used outside of the U.S. I am considering the option of using an external Nokia or similar GPS device as a receiver/transmitter and connecting to it for use in my application via the bluetooth API. I am looking for opinions on whether or not this is even possible, if anyone has attempted it or if someone has a suggestion for some other external device or approach that would be more fitting.   I am implementing a Service Contract for WCF Service. As per TDD I wrote a test case to just pass it using hardcoded values. After that I started to put real logic into my Service implementation. The actual logic relies on 3-4 external service and database. What should I do to my original test case that I wrote ? If i Keep it same in order to make test pass it will have to call several other external services. So I have question in general what should I do if I write a test case for a Business Facade first using TDD and later when I add real logic, if it involves external dependency.

• Regex to find external links from the html file using grep

  hello, From past few days I'm trying to develop a regex that fetch all the external links from the web pages given to it using grep. Here is my grep command grep -h -o -e "\(\(mailto:\|\(\(ht\|f\)tp\(s\?\)\)\)\://\)\{1\}\(.*\?\)" "/mnt/websites_folder/folder_to_search" -r now the grep seem to return everything after the external links in that given line Example if an html file contain something like this on same line GoogleYahoo then the given grep command return the following result http://www.google.com">Google</a><p><a href='https://yahoo.com'>Yahoo</a></p> the idea here is that if an html file contain more than one links(`irrespective in a,img etc`) in same line then the regex should fetch only the links and not all content of that line I managed to developed the same in rubular.com the regex is as follow ("|')(\b((ht|f)tps?:\/\/)(.*?)\b)("|') with work with the above input but iam not able to replicate the same in grep can anyone help I can't modify the html file so don't ask me to do that neither I can look for each specific tags and check their attributes to to get external links as it addup processing time and my application doesn't demand that Thank You

• Visual Studio 2008 setup looking at wrong drive

  I'm trying to add a feature to VS 2008. However, the initial install was done with a DVD in drive D: ... I don't currently have the DVD, so I'm trying to do the updating using an .iso mounted as drive E: ... The VS setup program is not able to find the setup files. Is there a way for me to tell VS 2008 setup to look for files in E: instead of D:? Maybe a registry or ini setting? Edit: The specific error message I got was: A selected drive is no longer valid

• Dragged external events from div overflow do not appear using FullCalender and FCDraggable

  I am using the FCDraggable version of FullCalendar and everything is working well. However, I would like my external events to be contained in a div with an overflow (ex. JQuery UI Accordian) and dragged onto the calendar. When overflow is on, the external event gets hidden behind the calendar and does not appear until dropped onto the calendar. Without overflow, the external events show fine during the dragging process onto the calendar. Has anyone else encountered this scenario? I know FCDraggable isn't part of the official release branch of FullCalendar but it works so well except for this one issue.

• quering an external oracle db in rails application

  I have a website which useses a mysql database for its whole operation . But for a new requirement i need to query a external oracle database( used by other component) and compile a list of items and display in a page in the website. How is it possible to connect to a external database just for rendering a single page. And is it possible to cache the queried result for say 1 month before invalidating the cache and get the updated list of items. i dont want query the external oracle db for each request.

• Accessing mapped network drive from ColdFusion

  I am having a problem accessing a mapped drive in ColdFusion. I have \\server\files\sharing mapped to z:\. If I run this code, it says the directory exists for the full path but not for the mapped one: <cfscript> fullPath = "\\server\files\sharing\reports"; mappedPath = "z:\reports"; WriteOutput("fullPath exists: #DirectoryExists(fullPath)#<br/>"); //YES WriteOutput("mappedPath exists: #DirectoryExists(mappedPath)#"); //NO </cfscript> I have done some Googling and have found a few people with the same problem, but the solution was always to use the full path. Is there a reason ColdFusion wouldn't be able to see or access the mapped drive? And if so, are there any workarounds (maybe a system call to get the full path of the mapped drive)?

• Which external DSLs do you like to use?

  The reason I'm asking is because right now there seems to be tendency to make DSLs internal. One example is LINQ in C# and VB. You can use it against in-memory objects, or you can use it as a replacement of SQL or other external DSL. Another example is HTML5 vs XHTML2. XHTML2 supported decentralized extensibility through namespaces, in other words you embed external DSL code (XForms, SVG, MathML, etc.) in your XHTML code. Sadly HTML5 doesn't seem to have such mechanism, instead new features are internal (e.g. <canvas> instead of SVG). I'd like to know what other developers think about this. Do you like using external DSLs ? Which ones ? If not, why ?

  Is there some restriction in BizTalk 2006 R2 to accessing static methods in external assemblies when the assembly has a "." in the name ? I have the solution set-up with the BizTalk project "FooBar", and the external assembly project "FooBar.Helper" (strongly signed and GAC'ed) with a class "Demo" (public and serializable), which is referenced in the BizTalk project I can create a BizTalk variable of type "FooBar.Helper.Demo" and access an instance method fine, but an expression window the Intellisense shows the FooBar namespace, but if I dot it, I get the error "illegal dotted name" ??? However I can add another project, "ExtComp" with class "Test" and it's static methods are displayed in Intellisense !!! The only difference I can see is the first external assembly has the dot in it

  I've been looking around on the dreamweaver interface, and I'm trying to get my design window as an external panel. Reason is, I have a dual monitor system, and I would like to have the main window (where you can have both code/split/design) on my main screen, but with the code selected, and a design view on my secondary monitor. I'm assuming this can't be done, although I have noticed you can have your code as an external panel (Code Inspector). Would like to hear your input. Thanks

• C# external tool for SSMS - Reading from stdin

  Hi all, I am trying to write an app that makes use of the external tools functionality of SQL Server Management Studio. To specify an external tool, you can enter a path to the app and specify some arguments to pass to the app via STDIN. Currently I just have a form that displays the arguments. Every time I run the external tool I get a new instance of the application. Ideally I would like for the first time I run the tool to load the application, and each subsequent running to take the arguments from STDIN and do something with them WITHOUT creating a new instance of the app. Is there anything I can do that could allow this, or am I stuck with lots of windows? • How to record when user follows external links without slowing user down

  I want to track when user clicks external links for analytics purposes. The simplest solution is to replace all external links with links to special record-and-redirect controller, but that would slow the user unnecessarily. The second idea would be to override click event and within in $.post a message to record controller, then let the main event handler happen, which will usually be either click (open link in same tab) or middle click (open in new tab) - good either way, and the user won't have to wait for wait for my server to record it, it's fire-and-forget. (I don't care if users without Javascript don't get tracked) Is that a reasonable way to go? Or what else would be the best way to track all external link clicks?

• Installing SharePoint 2010 on a dev machine with an external database

  I've been following Microsoft's guide for installing a dev environment on Windows 7: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee554869.aspx In order for it to not run like a dog I've created a SQL Server 2008 instance on our database server specifically for this dev machine. The article does mention that you might be wanting to use an external database in regard to making sure the database cumulative update is installed. It doesn't make any other mention of configuring it to use a external database. I was hoping that the configuration wizard would then prompt about which database to use but annoyingly it just set-up the configuration database locally. How do I go about installing SharePoint on a dev environment with an external database, and will I need to reformat this machine and do it all again?

I have build a response wrapper that intercept response output but I can't forward request to an external web service, it works only if I redirect the request to a servlet that is on same server. Example: request.getRequestDispatcher("aMyServlet").forward(request, response) IT WORKS request.getRequestDispatcher("http://www.webservice.com/...").forward(request, response) IT DON'T WORKS because Tomcat search "http://www.webservice.com/..." on the server as a local resource. • Oauth2 External Browser Request - App Launches, Credentials received, Browser Not Updated

  I'm using an external browser request to authenticate myself with the SoundCloudAPI in OSX. My app launches, and has a button that opens an external browser window to authenticate against SoundCloud. When I click "connect" in the new window, I get a "External Protocol Request" that is consistent with my custom launch URI scheme. Clicking this loads the app, and it gets the correct credentials. The trouble is, the browser window never changes - it simply says that it's connecting forever. There is no "connection confirmed" alert coming from SoundCloud. I know I'm logged in because I can make the correct calls to the API to get things such as my username. Why isn't the browser confirming the connection or dismissing? The same thing happens if I load the authentication in an internal WebView in the app.

What I struggling to get my head around is how I would set-up this hard coded page to work with my variables. If anyone can help, much appreciated. Homer.

• Iomega eGo Encrypt Plus Encrypted Partition not mounting properly says "local disk"

  I'm working with an Iomega eGo 500gb Encrypt Plus portable drive. When I first set it up and installed the software and set a user password everything worked fine. The partition labeled "IomegaHDD" mounted properly and I could access the free space. Then I changed the ADMIN password which required me to lockout the device, wait 60 seconds, and then login to the Admin section and change the password, lockout the device again, wait 60 seconds, and then log back in with my user password. When I did that it of course unmounted the IomegaHDD partition to secure it, when it remounts it, it only shows up as "local disk" now and will not remount properly. I had not removed the cable while doing any of this. I have since tried unplugging and plugging back in to login to the drove but that has not worked. I'm wondering if I should remove every instance of "generic usb hub" from device manager and wait for it to re-add itself, or move it to a new set of USB ports temporarily to seee if that helps. Any ideas?

• Monitor connected with WiDi just shows a black screen

  I have a Dell XPS 18 and want to use an external monitor with it. The monitor has VGA and DVI-D inputs. The XPS 18 has no video output ports, but it does support Intel WiDi. I have a Netgear P2TV2000 WiDi receiver, but it only has composite and HDMI outputs. I'm connecting the receiver to the monitor with an HDMI cable and an HDMI/DVI-D adapter. So, in short, the video path is: Computer → WiDi → WiDi receiver → HDMI cable → HDMI/DVI-D adapter → Monitor After setting all this up, I can't get anything to display on the monitor. At the moment I power the monitor on, I can see my desktop for a brief fraction of a second, and then everything goes black. All of the relevant drivers have been updated to the latest versions. When I use a different WiDi-enabled computer to connect to the same monitor, everything works fine. When I use the original computer and receiver to connect to a TV, everything works fine. It's only when I connect the original computer to the monitor I want to use that the connection fails. What could be going wrong here, and how can I get the video to work consistently?

• Why does the file date always change to the current date?

  We are a programming shop, but this i snot a programming question. My boss has put an external HD on the network. It contains the 'home' folders for users on the network. He uses it to place VB projects that he wants me to work on. But no matter what date and time he places a project on the drive, the file dates(modified) always shows the current date, though nothing in the files have changed. It makes it very hard to confirm that he has given me the latest versions. (He is not a fan of version control and nothing I do will convince him different.) Any ideas why this happens and how to prevent it from happening? P.S. As I wrote this I decided to add the last accessed date to the file display, and those dates happen to show the dates I expect to see. Why is the modified date getting changed, but not the accessed date. Does the accessed date change only when the files are opened or read, changed or not? Note: I use Directory Opus 9, a replacement for windows file browser. Thanks, Marshall

• How to backup iTunes on Windows to folder/share, i.e. without "Back Up to Disc"? No DVD writer avail

  (Surprised I didn't already find an answer here to this!) I've got a computer on which I'd like to back up the iTunes library – music, movies, apps, everything. We're talking multiple gigabytes. Unfortunately, it seems that iTunes' own built-in "Back Up to Disc" feature (the only backup feature I can find in iTunes) only functions with a CD or DVD writer/burner. The computer in question does not have a DVD burner. While it has a CD burner, attempting to back up to CDs would require dozens of discs plus more time than I'm willing to spend swapping them. So: What is the recommended way to back up an entire iTunes library on a Windows computer, to a non-CD/DVD location such as an external hard drive or a network shared folder? Then, once such a backup has been performed, what is the process for restoring the library – e.g. after the computer has been repaved with a new version of Windows – so that iTunes is resurrected whole and recognizes devices it syncs with?
