I've tried removing white space, but no luck. Any ideas? If one of you can help it would be much appreciated.

I've been doing plenty of searches to try and find what may be the issue, but by all accounts ive read, the code ive posted above should work. i havent used jquery for AJAX, but ive seen it recommended when others have had issues with httprequest objects. could i just replace the mess above with a couple lines of jquery and assume that it will take care of IE's ugliness?   • When does IE7 recompute styles? Doesn't work reliably when a class is added to the body.

    I have an interesting problem here. I'm using a class on the element as a switch to drive a fair amount of layout behavior on my site. If the class is applied, certain things happen, and if the class isn't applied, they don't happen. The relevant CSS is roughly like this: .rightSide { display:none; } .showCommentsRight .rightSide { display:block; width:50%; } .showCommentsRight .leftSide { display:block; width:50%; } And the HTML: <body class="showCommentsRight"> <div class="container"></div> <div class="leftSide"></div> <div class="rightSide"></div> </div> <div class="container"></div> <div class="leftSide"></div> <div class="rightSide"></div> </div> <div class="container"></div> <div class="leftSide"></div> <div class="rightSide"></div> </div> </body> I've simplified things but this is essentially the method. The whole page changes layout (hiding the right side in three different areas) when the flag is set on the body. This works in Firefox and IE8. It does not work in IE8 in compatibility mode. What is fascinating is that if you sit there and refresh the page, the results can vary. It will pick a different section's right side to show. Sometimes it will show only the top section's right side, sometimes it will show the middle. I have tried a validator (to look for malformed html), double css formatting, and making sure my IE7 hack sheet wasn't having an effect. So my question is: * Is there a way that this behavior can be made reliable? * When does IE7 decide to re-do styling? Thanks everyone.

This code works in Firefox and Chrome but it doesn't work in IE8. What it does is that it displays right away whole table even thought the height set in "resize" method is much lower. It seems that the cell sets the height of parent table and not the other way around. Is it possible to change the behaviour? I like changing the height of the table better because I can set visibility of the table easily. Thanks for any help!

But when I set the value of size less than four then it show four values. above example displays four options in safari but I want two options. What is the reason for this ?

    Hi Please give a look at this site. maimei.ch After 5 times opening a new site via ajax (fancybox) it crashes in IE? One little thing is that i load a whole asp.net site via ajax in the new window. so viewstate and other overhead is there twice after. could this be the problem? if yes, why just after 5 times?. is it possible to call just the content of an specific element via ajax? may be just the innerhtml of the body element of the called site?     I am using Struts 2.1.8 and facing validation problem in IE. I am getting the following error An exception occurred: Error. Error message: Invalid argument. I tried out to figure out the cause and found the following. My generated javascript code is: field = form.elements['district.name']; var error = "Enter only alphabets for district"; if (continueValidation && field.value != null && !field.value.match("^[a-zA-Z ]*$")) { addError(field, error); errors = true; } I tried to mock up by putting the same code in a function and calling it in onclick event. The method addError() throws the exception and the reason is field variable. If I change it to field[0], it works fine. How to fix this error?

The problem is that the <param>-tags gets removed when i run the pasteHTML. I wonder if anyone have an idea of fixing this, and letting me keep my param-tags

I am using IHtmlDocument2 to create tr and td elements and IHtmlElement to set attributes and IHtmlDomNode to add created node to the document hierarchy. Please anyone help me to solve the above problem. I am traversing through the document when I get the tr tag I have created the tr element using CreateElement, then I use InsertBefore to insert it into the document but it's not working.     Based on the IE documentation on MSDN IE 8 supports up to 6 parallel connections per server and IE 6,7 support 2. What is the upper limit of parallel connections accross all the hosts? So if I have 60 hosts, 8 requests per host, so 360 requests in the HTML page - does it mean that IE 8 will have 360 connection in parallel and IE 6 or 7 would have 120? (ignoring the html rendering time, and if call is blocking or not)

    The XBLIG submission check-list says to ensure that all important stuff critical to game-play be visible in the 'TitleSafeArea'. I've received a bug report during play-test of my game (Crazy Balloon Lite) that says parts of my scrolling 2D map are only half visible (i.e. chopped at the left of the screen). I've tested my game myself on a 47" TV and also a 19" VGA monitor, both of which look fine. The bug report says the issue occurs on a standard 20" TV. My question is: without buying different sizes of TVs, is there a way to test what my game will look like on different sized displays?
