I am doing iPhone development and how to make CGRect return double value? I found there was a macro "#define CGFLOAT_IS_DOUBLE", but how can I change it?
Hi guys,
I have an object NetworkMember that has no attributes but is defined by its relationships Person, Network, Level and Role. In my app, I've found all the four relationships, but I want to make sure not to double-register my NetworkMember, thus I'd like to search for this NSManagedObject before instantiating it.
How should I write a query that queries for an NSManagedObject just consisting of relationships?
Cheers
Nik
Hey there,
I am planning to develop an iPhone application heavily relying on sqlite DB ,
from different links I have gone through this seems to be a great tool and has some really good support.
As my app is still in the planning process
I would like to ask if there are any Issues with SQLlite database ? from memory management to Queries and data sizes and multiple access etc;
Please share your experience using SQLite DB in iPhone and what problems did you face?
I just want to make a note of these exceptions so that I may plan my App well and do not have any issues raised in the middle of the development process.
Thanx for your contribution.
Hey Guys,
does anybody know how i can access a custom cell within the - (void)tableView:commitEditingStyle:forRowAtIndexPath:. I need access to my Custom Cell Class to retrieve some parameters.
Thanks.
Twitter client (formerly Tweetie) allows you to define a bookmarklet in Safari that launches the app. I want to know which iPhone API allows you to register the protocol specifier (or whatever it's called) - in this case "tweetie:" - in order for this bookmarklet to work.
The instructions can be found here and the bookmarklet itself is below.
javascript:window.location='tweetie:'+window.location
Clicking the above bookmark is the same as typing in "tweetie:http://google.com" into the address bar. This is obviously supported on the OS/Browser level, much the same as tel: URIs. Am I correct in understanding that developers can add arbitrary URI protocol specifiers as a part of app installation?
When I select a cell in section 0 of my tableview I always get taken to section 1 first ?
I think its somthing to do with my 'if' statments
code : http://pastie.org/868523
Thanks in advance.
I'm writing code that will allow my iphone-app to have a "configuration page".
A grouped, scrolling, UITableView... with cells that contain the needed textFields, switches, sliders, etc.
It is an ENOURMOUS amount of code. Is there an easier way?
Is there a way I could create a simple text-file, contain all my desired design choices and have my (reusable) code build the TableView for me?
Or... can I just do the whole thing quicker/easier in Interface Builder instead of code?
I have a class (DataImporter) which has the code to download an RSS feed. I also have a view and separate class (TableView) which displays the data in a UITableView and starts the parsing process, storing parsed information in an NSMutableArray (items) which is located in the (TableView) subclass.
Now I wish to add a UIMapView which displays the items in the (items) NSMutableArray. Herein lies the issue - I need to somehow get the data from the (items) NSMutableArray into the new (mapView) subclass which I'm struggling with - and I preferably don't want to have to create a new class to download the data again for the mapView class when it already is in the applications memory. Is there a way I can transfer the information from the NSMutableArray (items) class to the (mapView) class (i.e. how do I declare the NSMutableArray in the (mapView) class)?
Here's a overview of how the system works:
App opened Data downloaded (using DataImporter class) when (TableView) viewDidLoad runs Data stored in NSMutableArray accessible by the (TableView) class And from here I need to access and declare the array from a new (mapView) class.
Any help greatly appreciated, thanks.
Code for viewDidLoad MapKit:
Data *data = nil;
NSString *ilocation = [data locations];
NSString *ilocation2 = @"New Zealand";
NSString *inewlString;
inewlString = [ilocation stringByAppendingString:ilocation2];
NSLog(@"inewlString=%@",inewlString);
if(forwardGeocoder == nil)
{
forwardGeocoder = [[BSForwardGeocoder alloc] initWithDelegate:self];
}
// Forward geocode!
[forwardGeocoder findLocation: inewlString];
Code for parsing data into original NSMutable Array:
- (void)beginParsing {
NSLog(@"Parsing has begun");
//self.navigationItem.rightBarButtonItem.enabled = NO;
// Allocate the array for song storage, or empty the results of previous parses
if (incidents == nil) {
NSLog(@"Grabbing array");
self.datas = [NSMutableArray array];
} else {
[datas removeAllObjects];
[self.tableView reloadData];
}
// Create the parser, set its delegate, and start it.
self.parser = [[DataImporter alloc] init];
parser.delegate = self;
[parser start];
}
I'm trying to make two custom buttons in code. One that fills the full screen with a small button on top. The problem I'm having is the larger button is triggered when the smaller button is tapped. I've tried doing exactly the same thing with IB and it works. Is there some sort of trapping/masking method that I need to use with code? I've checked the documentation and not come across anything that would suggest why this is happening.
CGRect bFrame = CGRectMake(0, 0, 320, 480);
UIButton *cancelButton = [[UIButton alloc] init];
cancelButton = [UIButton buttonWithType:UIButtonTypeCustom];
cancelButton.frame = bFrame;
[cancelButton setBackgroundColor:[UIColor clearColor]];
[cancelButton addTarget:self action:@selector(animate:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
UIButton *priceButton = [[UIButton alloc] init];
priceButton.center = CGPointMake(228, 98);
[priceButton addTarget:self action:@selector(callNumber:) forControlEvents:UIControlEventTouchUpInside];
[priceButton setTitle:@"BUY" forState:UIControlStateNormal];
//[cancelButton addSubview:priceButton];
[self.view addSubview:cancelButton];
[self.view bringSubviewToFront:priceButton];
In my project directory, top level, I have Icon.png. Double-checked in Photoshop, it's 57x57. When I submit my application via iTunes Connect or Application Loader, I get an error message saying my icon file is 0x0. Any idea why this happens?
Hi,
I have a project set up using these two tutorials.
http://twilloapp.blogspot.com/2009/03/how-to-embed-navigation-controller.html
and
the link for the second tutorial is at the bottom of the first.
The tutorial is slightly outdated but I managed to get it to work as advertised.
Now I want to push a new detailedView onto the NavigationController when a user touches a row in the table view.
So I added this to my MyTableViewController.m file.
- (void)tableView:(UITableView *)tableView didSelectRowAtIndexPath:(NSIndexPath *)indexPath {
// Navigation logic may go here. Create and push another view controller.
SecondViewController *detailViewController = [[SecondViewController alloc] initWithNibName:@"SecondViewController.xib" bundle:nil];
// ...
// Pass the selected object to the new view controller.
[self.navigationController pushViewController:detailViewController animated:YES];
[detailViewController release];
}
Now when I run this project and touch a row in my table view I am getting an error:
asm_Terminating_due_to_uncaught_exception
IT seems to be having an issue loading the SecondViewController from nib, however I checked the detailViewController and it is not nil.
I know I am missing something and it is more than likely something simple.
Please help.
Thanks,
Bruce
No matter what I do I can't get my ad hoc provisioning profile to work.
In Organizer, I always get "A valid signing identity matching this profile cannot be found in your keychain" for my adhoc profile. I have my distribution cert installed in my login keychain. I dragged the adhoc mobileprovision file to XCode... that's pretty much all there is to it, right?
I searched around and found suggestions like re-creating the cert/profile. Did that, same thing. Also make sure your login keychain is default. It is. Even tried a different computer. Same result.
In XCode AdHoc target I don't have a distribution target to pick.
This all used to work, but obviously I messed something up.....
Perhaps my process is just wrong (it's been months since I did this). Does someone have a step by step list of how to set up for adhoc distribution?
Hey
is there any way to send whats in a text view (im trying to make a suggestion box) to my email address?
example
user types in the box " I think you should add twitter support"
then that is sent in the background to my email address [email protected]
then a message is popped up on the screen saying "suggestion sent"
just an example of what i mean
Any ideas, tutorial links would be greatly appreciated guys
Thanks
Although my relativelayout looks very similar on WVGA800 and WVGA854 on the emulator, theres different spacing on some of the objects because I'm going off of marginleft or marginright. Since the 854 is a greater width, its pushing some objects differently. Is there any way I could target either one to adjust for the different margins?
I have a database online that I would like to be able to load into an NSArray in my app. I can use arrayWithContentsOfURL with a static file, but I really need to go to a url that generates a plist file from the database and loading it into the array. I can use ASP or PHP. I tried setting the response type to "text/xml", but that doesn't help.
Any thoughts?
How would you write a universal app that uses classes introduced in iPhone OS 3.2, such as UIPopoverController and UISplitViewController? On Jeff LaMarche's blog about this, Ole provides a method for instantiating these objects; you would instantiate a UIPopoverController like so: [NSClassFromString(@"UIPopoverController") alloc].
This is fine for instantiating these classes in code but what about protocols and their methods? My iPad app uses a UISplitViewController and has a class that needs to conform to the UISplitViewControllerDelegate and UIPopoverControllerDelegate. How would you declare this? And how would you work with a method such as the following?
- (void)splitViewController:(UISplitViewController *)svc
willHideViewController:(UIViewController *)aViewController
withBarButtonItem:(UIBarButtonItem *)barButtonItem
forPopoverController:(UIPopoverController *)pc
where the method call requires UISplitViewController to be passed in?
I am trying to upload an image to server using iphone .

Whenever I run my app I get the Android Device Chooser dialog:
This is happening because I am using the Google APIs for 1.6 and trying to run the application on my Nexus one. Is there any way to make this automatically, or to not check the compatibility? Sometimes when I make a modification and quickly after I save and run the application, Eclipse will build the project and the Android Device Chooser dialog will show briefly and disappear and the app won't run. I have to click run again for it to work. Any workarounds?
I have two NIB's
ParentViewController.xib
ChildViewController.xib
ParentViewController.xib contains a UIView and a UIViewController.
ChildViewController.xib contains a UIButton
I want ChildViewController.xib to load in the ParentViewController.xib's UIView
I have done the following:
Created @property for UIView in ParentViewController
Connected File's Owner to UIView in ParentViewController
Set UIViewController in ParentViewController's NIB Name property to ChildViewController in Interface Builder
Set ChildViewController view property to UIView in ParentViewController
I was hoping this would load ChildViewController into my UIView in ParentViewController but no luck.
I did get the following warning, which could be the culprit:
'View Controller (Child View)' has both its 'NIB Name' property set and its 'view' outlet connected. This configuration is not supported.
I also have added additional code in ParentViewController's viewDidLoad():
- (void)viewDidLoad {
[super viewDidLoad];
ChildViewController *childViewController = [[ChildViewController alloc]initWithNibName:@"ChildViewController" bundle:nil];
childViewController.view = self.myView;
}
Any thoughts on why ChildViewController does not load in the UIView of ParentViewController?
I am trying to write a simple application that gets updated. For this I need a simple function that can download a file and show the current progress in a ProgressDialog. I know how to do the ProgressDialog, but I'm not sure how to display the current progress and how to download the file in the first place.
Can we get information of all customers like customer's name, customer's email or other information related with customer who have purchased our application from app store ???
