• Windows 7 Aero Theme when on Battery

  Windows 7 has the full and basic aero themes that can be changed inside personalization. Windows used to automatically disable Windows Aero (transparency) when I unplug my laptop from the mains. I reset the theme and now it doesn't do this anymore. I can't seem to find how to enable this again. I've checked the advanced power options and control panel but turning back on this feature is eluding me. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

• Typing with a right-to-left language on Windows Vista Home Premium (English)

  A friend's laptop came with "Windows Vista Home Premium (SP1)" installed in English. But she's from a country with a right-to-left language, and she wants to be able to type in her own language from right-to-left. Going to the control panel and adding a keyboard on her language did half of the trick. She can type in her language but on a left-to-right way. Is it possible to enable the cursor to go on the other direction?

• iTunes video black screen until select computer output

  I don't remember this happening before, but now whenever I play any video in iTunes (podcast video, movie, TV show, iTunes extras stuff but the menus work) it just shows a black screen with the sound playing. If I stop it, select "Computer" in the little output control on the iTunes video control panel that pops up, then play again, it works fine. What the heck? Tried rebooting, updating, with and without external monitor. OSX 10.6.6

• If I uninstall Bonjour and Apple Mobile Device Support will transferring songs to my ipod via itunes

  I am one of those people who hate to have even one unnecessary program installed. I noticed when I downloaded and installed itunes two other components were installed and shows up in my control panel Uninstall programs screen: "Bonjour" and "Apple Mobile Device Support". Are these two necessary for itunes to work? I never buy songs via itunes, just use the program to transfer smp3s to my ipod.

• How to fix a bad case rattle

  I have a full sized ATX case with several fans, including one on the door/removable side. This fan makes the "door" rattle or vibrate loudly when the fan runs at full speed, such as at startup. I can stop the rattle temporarily by placing my hand on the "door", or pushing an object next to it. Do you have any suggestions for a permanent solution? Note: The "door" in question is a slide out panel with two twist screws at the back to hold it in.

  Is it possible to prevent or disable autorun/autoplay/device-stage by modifying regedit? Because of some constraints, I cannot disable by Control Panel options. I found some related questions here, for example, and some solutions provided by Microsoft, mainly involving this key on regedit: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\policies\Explorer\NoDriveTypeAutorun But none of these solutions worked, neither after rebooting. Is there any other key or value that controls this kind of property?

• Best way to Start Over on my Dreamhost server?

  I have made a mess of my Dreamhost slice and want to know if there's a way to clean install/fresh install/wipe everything and start over? Is there a shell script to do this or would I have to do it through the Dreamhost admin panel or even contact Dreamhost to get them to do it for me? • How to fix Windows 2008 R2 show less memory than available

  I've got Win2008 R2 64bit installed on Dell R410 server with 8GB of RAM. Dell Open Manage shows 8GB total and 4GB available for use, In Windows Control Panel, System i see 64bit and 8GB of RAM while in Windows Task Manager at Performance tab there is 4GB of memory available. Dell support has made some checks and told me that if BIOS shows 8Gb of RAM and indeed BIOS does then it's operational system issue. Tried to search online for resolution but none found. Please help, thanks

• CPanel: Are there logs for login attempts?

  Hello, I tried to login into a cpanel account that hasn't been accessed for a few months and discovered that my login details no longer worked. When I reset the password and gained access into my domains control panel, my email password also didn't work. Upon that first attempt I was given a message reading "Brute force attempt..." • Why does my monitor have a black screen but the power light is blinking green?

  I have a ViewSonic VA912b 19" display I use as a secondary monitor. When I turn it on, the power light is green for a few seconds, and then switches to blinking green. The display stays black. Windows thinks the monitor is on, as it shows up in the control panel as a second monitor. If I unplug the DVI cable, it displays a "No Signal" message and the power light goes to amber, which means it went to sleep.

I have installed Clamav and it has managed to pickup the infected files which have a pattern of starting with either /*km0ae9gr6m*/ or /*gootkitstart*/ and ending with /*qhk6sa6g1c*/ or /*gootkitend*/ My Plesk panel is up to date and security patches were installed. How can I isolate the security vulnerability on the server?

• What could cause a program to stay in "Add/Remove Programs" even after removing from registry

  Trying to manually remove an entry from Control Panel Add/Remove Programs. (custom software, not MS KB patch or windows component and not doing anyting 'funky' like trying to stop itself form being uninstalled) Followed http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314481 removing all applicable registry keys for program from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall\ and even tried rebooting but still it persists. Double checked followed KB314481 and search for program name doesn't return any other matches in that part of the registry. Any ideas what would cause this or how to solve?

This works well and my website is available at both variations but I really want all 'www' to route to the 'non www'.   Is there a way to use rdesktop or another Linux client to connect to a server that requires Network Level Authentication? From Windows Server 2008 R2 -- Control Panel -- System And Security -- System -- Allow Remote Access there is an option that says "Allow connections only from computers running Remote Desktop with Network Level Authentication". So with this enabled I can con not connect from Linux. I can connect from XP but you need SP3 and I had to edit a couple of things in the registry for it to work.

• prevent cpanel/whm from automatically updating php

  I'd like to be sure that cpanel/WHM is definitely NOT going to automatically update my PHP to 5.3 (it will cause all sorts of errors for legacy code). So, please let me know where I should look (either in WHM control panel or via SSH) in order to satisfy myself that PHP definitely won't get upgraded to 5.3 without my say-so?

However, when I right-click on a file, and select Send to Mail recipient I get a message box saying:There is no email program associated to perform the requested action.
