  • Return number of matches from c# dictionary

    Hello! I have a dictionary with non unique values and I want to count the matches of a string versus the values. Basically I now do dict.ContainsValue(a) to get a bool telling me if the string a exists in dict, but I want to know not only if it exists but how many times it exists (and maybee even get a list of the keys it exists bound to) Is there a way to do this using dictionary, or should I look for a different collection? /Rickard Haake

    Hi there I'm writing a brush for Alex Gorbatchev's Syntax Highlighter to get highlighting for Smalltalk code. Now, consider the following Smalltalk code: aCollection do: [ :each | each shout ] I want to find the block argument ":each" and then match "each" every time it occurrs afterwards (for simplicity, let's say every occurrence an not just inside the brackets). Note that the argument can have any name, e.g. ":myArg". My attempt to match ":each": \:([\d\w]+) This seems to work. The problem is for me to match the occurrences of "each". I thought something like this could work: \:([\d\w]+)|\1 but the right hand side of the alternation seems to be treated as an independent expression, so backreferencing doesn't work. So my question is: is it even possible to accomplish what I want in a single expression? Or would I have to use the backreference within a second expression (via another function call)? Cheers.

    I have both Rails 2.3.4 and Rails 3.0.0.beta installed on my local machine. I am using ActiveRecord in a stand alone ruby script and when I do require 'active_record' 3.0.0.beta is loaded. How can I force it to require 2.3.4 instead? (without uninstalling 3.0.0.beta)

    Hello I've got supervisor's status output, looking like this. frontend RUNNING pid 16652, uptime 2:11:17 nginx RUNNING pid 16651, uptime 2:11:17 redis RUNNING pid 16607, uptime 2:11:32 I need to extract nginx's PID. I've done it via grep -P command, but on remote machine grep is build without perl regular expression support. Looks like sed or awk is exactly what I need, but I don't familiar with them. Please help me to find a way how to do it, thanks in advance.

    Hi What is you experience with the make -j flag? There seem to be some controversial if the jobs are supposed to be equal to the numbers of cores, or if you can maximize the build by adding one extra job that can be cued up while the others "work". The question is if it is better to use -j4 or -j5? And have you seen (or done) any benchmarking that support one or the other? Thanks Johan

    It seems like the methods of Ruby's Net::HTTP are all or nothing when it comes to reading the body of a web page. How can I read, say, the just the first 100 bytes of the body? I am trying to read from a content server that returns a short error message in the body of the response if the file requested isn't available. I need to read enough of the body to determine whether the file is there. The files are huge, so I don't want to get the whole body just to check if the file is available.

  • Boost Python - Limits to the number of arguments when wrapping a function

    I'm using Boost Python to wrap some C++ functions that I've created. One of my C++ functions contains 22 arguments. Boost complains when I try to compile my solution with this function, and I'm trying to figure out if it is just because this function has too many arguments. Does anyone know if such a limit exists? I've copied the error I'm getting below, not the code because I figure someone either knows the answer to this or not - and if there is no limit then I'll just try to figure it out myself.     I apologize in advance if the question is dummy ,i use Python 3.2.3 on Windows xp ,now i need Python3.3.2 , but i can't remove Python 3.2.3 because i have many codes and packages need to be run by it. I installed virtualenv to run two versions of Python in two different environments , but after that i didn't know what to do to run a code using Python 3.3.2 , here what i did: C:\>virtualenv.exe env1 C:\>env1\Scripts\activate now i don't know what to do after a folder was created its name env1 , i downloaded Python 3.3.2 and installed it in the same folder (env1) , is that correct ? then i try the following: (env1) C:\>python3.3.2 I got the following : 'python3.3.2' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. also i tried : (env1) C:\>python python33 I got the following: python: can't open file 'python33': [Errno 2] No such file or directory As i mentioned , i stuck at this point , any help will be very appreciated. That seems to be taking it to the extreme to me, so if I'm right as I am, what is the real-world meaning of the "one assert per test" advice?

    Hello, I'm building a range between two numbers (floats) and I'd like this range to be of an exact fixed length (no more, no less). range and arange work with steps, instead. To put things into pseudo Python, this is what I'd like to achieve: start_value = -7.5 end_value = 0.1 my_range = my_range_function(star_value, end_value, length=6) print my_range [-7.50,-5.98,-4.46,-2.94,-1.42,0.10] This is essentially equivalent to the R function seq which can specify a sequence of a given length. Is this possible in Python? Thanks.

  • MIDP 2.0 version issues: $method is undefined for $type

    Hi, I've written a MIDlet that does several "advanced" things: fetching images from the web, resizing them, saving them on the phone, displaying them. This all works perfectly in the Nokia S60 3rd Edition FP1 emulator. This device has MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1 support (also JSR75, which I need in order to save files). It also works as it should on the Nokia E71 (physical device). I then tried to run the MIDlet on several other emulators. One of them, the DefaultCldcJtwiPhone2 from the Java ME SDK 3.0, also claims MIDP 2.0 and CLDC 1.1 support. It doesn't have JSR75, which explains why "FileConnection can not be resolved to a type". This does not, however, explain why List.deleteAll(), String.equalsIgnoreCase(String) and a few others are undefined. The actual errors that I get: The method ceil(double) is undefined for the type Math The method deleteAll() is undefined for the type List The method equalsIgnoreCase(String) is undefined for the type String The method getWidth() is undefined for the type Displayable When I look at the MIDP 2.0 (i.e. JSR118) API (http://java.sun.com/javame/reference/apis/jsr118/), I can clearly see all of these methods being present, with the "since" tag being either MIDP 2.0 or CLDC 1.1. My question: why doesn't an emulator with MIDP 2.0 support have access to all MIDP 2.0 methods? Or alternatively, what am I doing wrong?

    I have a lot of legacy Delphi 5 & 6 Code. We want to test this code using the new Microsoft Test Manager (part of VS2010) To effectively track your testing using this tool you need to use build numbers. To get Delphi 5 or 6 building in TFS Build 2010 is a huge task. One that I am not sure I want to take on. Is there a way I can just insert my build numbers in to tfs?

  • Missing line number in stack trace eventhough the PDB files are included

    This is running me nuts. I have this web service implemented w/ C# using VS 2008. I publish it on IIS. I have modified the release build so the pdb files are copied along with the dlls into the target directory on inetpub. Also web.config file has debug=true. Then I call a web service that throws an exception. The stack trace does not contain the line numbers. I have no idea what I am missing here, any ideas? Additional Info: If I run the web app using VS built-in web server, it works and I get line numbers in stack trace. But if I copy the same files (pdb and dll) that the VS built-in web server is using to IIS, still the line numbers are missing in stack trace. It seems that there is something related to the IIS that ignores the pdb files! Update When I publish to IIS, all the pdb files are published under the bin directory and everything looks fine. But when I go to "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v2.0.50727\Temporary ASP.NET Files" under the specific directory related to my project, I can see that the assembly (.dll) files are all there, but there is no pdb files. But this does not happen if I run the project using VS built-in web server. So if I copy the pdb files manually to the temp folder, I can see the line numbers. Any idea why the pdb files are not copied to the temp folder? BTW, when I attach to the worker process I can see that it says Symbols loaded!

  • C# Application crashes with Buffer Overrun in deployed (.exe) version, but not in Visual Studio

    Hi, I have a c# Windows Forms application that runs perfectly from within Visual Studio, but crashes when its deployed and run from the .exe. It crashes with a Buffer Overrun error...and its pretty clear that this error is not being thrown from within my code. Instead, windows must be detecting some sort of buffer overrun and shutting down the application from the outside. I don't think there's one specific line of code that is causing it..it simply happens intermittently. Does anybody have any thoughts on what the possible causes of a Buffer Overrun error might be, and why it would only occur in the deployed application and not when run from with Visual Studio? The problem started as I kept seeing rn at the beginnning of every post made via IE. That was due to stripslashes function.     Is there a service that provides latitude and longitude for UK phone numbers? For example: Query: 0141 574 xxx, Returns: (55.8659829, -4.2602205) [Glasgow City Centre] Allow me to stress that I am not looking for a reverse-directory-enquires. I am more interested in 'local area' for things like weather by phone or "Where's my nearest Pizza Shop?" If this service doesn't exist your suggestions on how to implement it or where to get data from would also be incredibly useful. I am aware that Ofcom provides a list of area codes with a place name [1] suitable for geolocation, but I have my concerns about resolution. I see this as a particular problem in smaller towns and rural areas where an area code will cover a large geographical area. Second Example: Area Code: 01555, Ofcom: Lanark However: 01555 860xxx is Crossford (4 miles W of Lanark) 01555 77xxxx is Carluke (5 miles NW) 01555 89xxxx is Lesmahagow (5 miles SW) 01555 840xxx is Carnwath (7 miles NE) Therefore 01555 covers about ~80 sq miles.     I came across this RDMS via the advert on stackoverflow. Seems to be in the vein of MS Access / Filemaker / Apex database development tools but focused on web based applications. It quotes rave reviews from EWeek and a favourable mention from Dr Dobbs regarding its ability to create AJAX web applications without coding. The Eweek review, apparently written by an ASP.NET programmer, goes on to proclaim the ease at which apps can be extended using the inbuilt XBasic language and how custom javascript can easily be added without wading through code. Has anyone here built a web app with Alpha 5? Does anyone have comments on the development process, the speed of it or limitations they encountered along the way? To me it seems Oracle APEX comes closest to the feature set, has anyone programmed in both and have any comments?

Is there any simpler way to do it? If no, how can you prove it? I can simplify it to some extent, proof tree.
