    Hi All, I have created a table called table1 and it has 4 columns named Name,ID,Description and Date. I have created them like Name varchar(50) null, ID int null,Description varchar(50) null, Date datetime null I have inserted a record into the table1 having ID and Description values. So Now my table1 looks like this: Name ID Description Date Null 1 First Null One of them asked me to modify the table such a way that The columns Name and Date should have Null values instead of Text Null. I don't know what is the difference between those I mean can anyone explain me the difference between these select statements: SELECT * FROM TABLE1 WHERE NAME IS NULL SELECT * FROM TABLE1 WHERE NAME = 'NULL' SELECT * FROM TABLE1 WHERE NAME = ' ' Can anyone explain me?

  • How do I use grep to extract a specific field value from lines

    I have lines in a file which look like the following ....... DisplayName="john" .......... where .... represents variable number of other fields. Using the following grep command, I am able to extract all the lines which have a valid 'DisplayName' field grep DisplayName="[0-9A-Za-z[:space:]]*" e:\test However, I wish to extract just the name (ie "john") from each line instead of the whole line which is returned by grep. I tried pipelining the output to the cut command but it does not accept string delimiters.

  • Display data FROM Sheet1 on Sheet2 based on conditional value

    Imagine a worksheet with 30 pieces of information, such as: A1= Start Date A2 = End Date A3 = Resource Name A4 = Cost .... A30 = Whatever B1 = 1/1/2010 B2 = 2/15/2010 B3 = Joe Smith B4 = $10,000.00 ... B30 = Blah Blah Now imagine a third column, C. The purpose of the third column is to determine WHICH report that row of data needs to appear in. C1 = Report 1 C2 = Report 1 and Report 2 C3 = Report 4 and Report 7 C4 = Report 1 and Report 5 ... C30 = Report 2 Each report is on Sheets 2, 3, 4, 5 and so on (depending on how many I decide to create). As you can see form my example above, some data may need to appear in multiple reports. For example, the data in Row 3 (Resource Name: Joe Smith) needs to appear in Report 4 and Report 7. That is to say, it needs to DYNAMICALLY appear on two additional worksheets. If I change the values in column C, then the reports need to update automatically. How can I create the worksheets which will serve as the reports such that they only diaplay the rows which have been "flagged" to be displayed in that report? Thanks!

    Hi all, I have a relatively simple problem. I have a model named Item which I've added a status field. The status field will only have two options (Lost or Found). So I created the following array in my Item model: STATUS = [ [1, "Lost"], [2, "Found"]] In my form view I added the following code which works great: <%= collection_select :item, :status, Item::STATUS, :first, :last, {:include_blank => 'Select status'} %> This stores the numeric id (1 or 2) of the status in the database. However, in my show view I can't figure out how to convert from the numeric id (again, 1 or 2) to the text equivalent of Lost or Found. Any ideas on how to get this to work?     I have a form where I have an administrator creating new users. The form uses the User model I created (login, password, first_name, etc...). For the last field on the form, I want to have a checkbox that doesn't need to be stored as part of the User record, but it is needed for the controller.     Context: I'm trying to improve the values returned by the iPhone CLLocationManager, although this is a more generally applicable problem. The key is that CLLocationManger returns data on current velocity as and when it feels like it, rather than at a fixed sample rate. I'd like to use a feedback equation to improve accuracy v=(k*v)+(1-k)*currentVelocity where currentVelocity is the speed returned by didUpdateToLocation:fromLocation: and v is the output velocity (and also used for the feedback element). Because of the "as and when" nature of didUpdateToLocation:fromLocation: I could calculate the time interval since it was last called, and do something like for (i=0;i<timeintervalsincelastcalled;i++) v=(k*v)+(1-k)*currentVelocity which would work, but is wasteful of cycles. Especially as I probably want timeintervalsincelastcalled to be measured as 10ths of a second. Is there a way to solve this without the loop ? i.e. rework (integrate?) the formula so I put an interval into the equation and get the same answer as I would have by iteration ?

The first thing I see is to use 'GROUP BY cu.idCustomer' but it limit only 1 Comment per Customer, but I wanna 2 Comment per Customer.. how now to proceed?

    This is a wordpress installation, but I think the question is more of a general sql question. First off, my sql skills are not great (I don't even know if I'm following the correct format for illustrating the db). I've got two tables: wp_posts : ID (pk) | post_name | ... ---------------------------- 45 | "Hello" 91 | "Funny" 16 | "Wheat" wp_postmeta : post_id (fk) | meta_key | meta_value | ... ------------------------------------------------ 45 | "_edit_lock" | 5789789834 45 | "fizzbizz" | "foobar" 91 | "_something" | "teve" 16 | "_edit_lock" | 8798756 I would to select all rows in wp_posts where there is NO corresponding row in wp_postmeta where meta_key = "fizzbizz" I originally had this query, but someone pointed out that it would not retrive ID = '16' in the above case.     Hello, I'm working on the app that uses CoreData. There is location entity that holds latitude and longitude values. I'd like to fetch those entities sorted by distance to the user's location. I tried to set sort descriptor to distance formula sqrt ((x1 - x2)^2 + (y1 - y2)^2) but it fails with exception "... keypath ... not found in entity".     at the top of my controller, outside of any method, I have @@javascript_is_disabled = false and I have methods that that the view calls and invokes something like this @@javascript_is_disabled = params[:javascript_disabled] but when I need the @@javascript_is_disabled in completely different method.. it is always false. I know it changes in the method with params args... cause those methods behave differently, and appropriately And ideas?
