  • SHA-1 and Unicode

    - by Andrew
Hi everyone, Is behavior of SHA-1 algorithm defined for Unicode strings? I do realize that SHA-1 itself does not care about the content of the string, however, it seems to me that in order to pass standard tests for SHA-1, the input string should be encoded with UTF-8.

  • Howcan I get started with Spring Batch?

    - by C. Ross
I'm trying to learn Spring Batch, but the startup guide is very confusing. Comments like You can get a pretty good idea about how to set up a job by examining the unit tests in the org.springframework.batch.sample package (in src/main/java) and the configuration in src/main/resources/jobs. aren't exactly helpful. Also I find the Sample project very complicated (17 non-empty Namespaces with 109 classes)! Is there a simpler place to get started with Spring Batch?

  • Test existence of xml attribute in as3

    - by matb
Hi, What is the best method to test the existence of an attribute on an XML object in ActionScript 3 ? http://martijnvanbeek.net/weblog/40/testing_the_existance_of_an_attribute_in_xml_with_as3.html is suggesting to test using if ( node.@test != node.@nonexistingattribute ) and I saw comments suggesting to use: if ( node.hasOwnProperty('@test')) { // attribute qtest exists } But in both case, tests are case sensitive. From the XML Specs : "XML processors should match character encoding names in a case-insensitive way" so I presume attribute name should also be match using a case-insensitive comparison. Thank you

  • IEEE 1003.1 licenses compared

    - by LarsOn
Software or real people can technically copy a BSD software, install it and sell it. What are technical and licence advantages and disadvantages compared to taking Linux or other 1003.1 and delivering or selling it? Which license is most flexible for instance when selling or delivering a computer BSD licence seems more flexible than Linux and other specs also interesting (Haiku and likewise). Typical case someone wants a computer with which we can deliver BSD or Linux quite similar weighing licence flexibility (BSD seems best licence) and functions (Linux seems have most functions)

  • How to test lib files in Rails?

    - by jerhinesmith
I understand the benefit of putting classes, modules, etc. in the lib folder in Rails, but I haven't been able to find a clean way of testing these files. For the most part, it seems like unit tests would be the logical approach. I guess my question is: What is the "rails way" for testing lib files?

  • Sleep Command in T-SQL?

    - by skb
Is there to way write a T-SQL command to just make it sleep for a period of time? I am writing a web service asynchronously and I want to be able to run some tests to see if the asynchronous pattern is really going to make it more scalable. In order to "mock" an external service that is slow, I want to be able to call a SQL server with a script that runs slowly, but isn't actually processing a ton of stuff.

  • ruby Test::Unit Command line options?

    - by Joe Soul-bringer
Hi all, When running tests in Ruby's unit::test framework, is there a really easy way to specify, from the command-line, that only one test should be run (that is, specify the test class and test member variable)? If not, is there another framework that has this feature?

  • How to use Selenium Grid???

    - by user300591
Hi All, I'm researching Selenium and have a seminar for my group... I meet many troubles with this I use C# language and write a demo SeleniumExample.dll Then i start selenium RC and NUnit and run it with nUnit to see the test report. I read testdata from xml. Here's the SeleniumExample.dll: using System; using System.Xml; using System.Text; using System.Text.RegularExpressions; using System.Threading; using NUnit.Framework; using Selenium; namespace SeleniumExample { public class Success_Login { //User defined private string strURL = "http://newtours.demoaut.com/ mercurywelcome.php"; private string[] strBrowser = new string[3] { "*iehta", "*firefox", "*safari" }; // System defined private ISelenium selenium; private StringBuilder verificationErrors ; [SetUp] public void SetupTest() { selenium = new DefaultSelenium("localhost", 4444, this.strBrowser[0], this.strURL); selenium.Start(); verificationErrors = new StringBuilder(); } [TearDown] public void TeardownTest() { try { selenium.Stop(); } catch (Exception) { // Ignore errors if unable to close the browser } Assert.AreEqual("", verificationErrors.ToString()); } [Test] public void Success_LoginTest() { try { XmlDocument doc = new XmlDocument(); XmlNode docNode; doc.Load("XMLFile1.xml"); docNode = doc["TestCase"]; foreach (XmlNode node in docNode) { selenium.Open("/"); selenium.Type("userName", node["username"].InnerText); selenium.Type("password", node["password"].InnerText); selenium.Click("login"); selenium.WaitForPageToLoad("30000"); Assert.AreEqual("Find a Flight: Mercury Tours:", selenium.GetTitle()); } } catch (AssertionException e) { verificationErrors.Append(e.Message); } } } } Now I wan to have a demo that using Selenium Grid (SG) but i dont know how to do. I read document and understand the way SG works. I install SG and install Ant1.8. The tests will communicate with Selenium Hub. Actually, I just understand the theory i dont know how to make the tests communicate with Selenium Hub and how to make Selenium Hub control Selenium RC. I am a new for Selenium. If anyone know this, please help me. I appreciate it so much. THANKS, Hoang

  • How to return plain XML from ADO.NET data service

    - by KHALIL
Hi, I was wondering how to return plain XML from ADO.net data services I have exposed an ADO.net data service to different DEPARTMENTS in our company who are not so technical. The data returned is ATOM FEED which is kind a hard to read / interpret with its format, too much information is returned people from various departments would execute different queries ( HTTP Request) and i wanted them to display simple XML or atleast something more user friendly like HTML I have tried ACCEPT attribute of the request to be plain XML and it still returns ATOM Thanks -- Khalil

  • KISS: Simple C# application which communicates with a RESTful web service.

    - by Workshop Alex
Following the KISS principle, I suddenly realised the following: In .NET, you can use the Entity Model Framework to wrap around a database. This model can be exposed as a web service through WCF. This web service would have a very standardized definition. A client application could be created which could consume any such RESTful web service. I don't want to re-invent the wheel and it wouldn't surprise me if someone has already done this, so my question is simple: Has anyone already created a simple (desktop, not web) client application that can consume a RESTful service that's based on the Entity Framework and which will allow the user to read and write data directly to this service? Otherwise, I'll just have to "invent" this myself. :-)Problem is, the database layer and RESTful service is already finished. The RESTful service will only stay in the project during it's development phase, since we can use the database-layer assembly directly from the web applications that are build around it. When the web application is deployed, the RESTful services are just kept out of the deployment. But the database has a lot of data to manage over nearly 50 tables. When developing against a local database, we can have straight access to the database so I wouldn't need this tool for this. When it's deployed, the web application would be the only way to access the data so I could not use this tool. But we're also having a test phase where the database is stored on another system outside the local domain and this database is not available for developers. Only administrators have direct access to this database, making tests a bit more complex. However, through the RESTful service, I can still access the data directly. Thus, when some test goes wrong, I can repair the data through this connection or just create a copy of the data for tests on my local system. There's plenty of other functionality and it's even possible to just open the URL to a table service straight in Excel or XMLSpy to see the contents. But when I want to write something back, I have to write special code to do just that. A generic tool that would allow me to access the data and modify it would be easier. Since it's a generic setup around the ADO.NET Data services, this should be reasonable easy too. Thus, I can do it but hoped someone else has already done something similar. But it appears that there's no such tool made yet...

  • How do you unit test JEE code?

    - by marabol
I want to ask for your prefered way to test JEE code? I found only three project, that are trying to help to code unit tests in JEE environment: http://jakarta.apache.org/cactus/ : Last Published: 2009-01-18 http://www.junitee.org/ : Last Release: 2004-12-11 http://ejb3unit.sourceforge.net/ : Last Release: 2008-05-17 So I wonder, is there any framework helping to write (j) unit test for JEE code? do you use embedded JEE servers like jboss or glassfish v3? do you mockup and inject by yourself? Thanks a lot...

  • iPhone App development for non-programmers

    - by user645479
I have a English major during college and would like to start my career in mobile application development. I know this won't be easy for someone like me who doesn't have a technical background but I have made up my mind and I am committed to learning to code. What would you recommend to someone who wants to to start learning mobile application development from scratch? What books or college courses/certificates are required?

  • Zend Mail - bouncing mails not returning to the specified "Return-Path"

    - by Leprosy
Hi, i'm working on a simple mail list app in PHP using Zend Mail. The idea is that all mail that bounce is redirected to a script which processes them and a report is generated. The script is running ok in direct tests, but I've testing it with fake mail address to test the mail list app, and it appears that the mail is not being redirected to the correct email address. Zend Mail provides the setReturnPath method to set the "Return-Path" header, it's ok to use this header for this purpose? Thanks

  • Django FileField not saving to upload_to location

    - by Erik
I have an Attachment model that has a FileField in a Django 1.4.1 app. This FileField has a callable upload_to parameter which, per the Django docs should be called when the form (and therefore the model) is saved. When I run FormTest below, the upload_to callable is never called and the file therefore does not appear in the location provided by the upload_to method. What am I doing wrong? Notice that in the passing tests in ModelTest (also below), the upload_to method works as expected. Test: from core.forms.attachments import AttachmentForm from django.test import TestCase import unittest from django.core.files.uploadedfile import SimpleUploadedFile from django.core.files.storage import default_storage def suite(): return unittest.TestSuite( [ unittest.TestLoader().loadTestsFromTestCase(FormTest), ] ) class FormTest(TestCase): def test_form_1(self): filename = 'filename' f = file(filename) data = {'name':'name',} file_data = {'attachment_file':SimpleUploadedFile(f.name,f.read()),} form = AttachmentForm(data=data,files=file_data) self.assertTrue(form.is_valid()) attachment = form.save() root_directory = 'attachments' upload_location = root_directory + '/' + attachment.directory + '/' + filename self.assertTrue(attachment.attachment_file) # • How to test PHP in MySQL Strict

    - by Ben Sinclair
I had a client who had MySQL Strict which brought up a few errors in my MySQL code... I didn't even know there was a MySQL Strict. I've fixed up a lot of the issues but I want to run some further tests on my local server. How do I enable MySQL Strict for testing purposes and then disable it when I no longer want it?
