• Open Google Reader links in background Safari tab?

  When you press the v keyboard shortcut in Google Reader, it opens a new tab. Regardless of the setting "When a new tab or window is opened, make it active" setting (Under Preferences Tabs), it becomes the frontmost tab when opened. Is there a way to have all tabs open in the background, like when you Cmd+click? (I'm aware of other alternative solutions, such as Firefox which handles this correctly, or a desktop RSS such as NetNewsWire/Vienna which have an "open links in background" option, but I like Google Reader's interface and wish to continue using it)

• Emacs open files from a filename list

  I have a largish tex project that is separated into several tex files. Everytime I want to work on it I open emacs and manually C-x C-f all the files that I want to work on. I was wondering if there is a way to open files (from command line) from a file containing a list of filenames, something like filelist.txt: file1.tex file2.tex file3.tex then do cat files | emacs -nw except that emacs doesn't support the command used as it doesn't like that stdin is reassigned. any ideas?

  I'm trying to open local file from Silverlight. I try Window.Navigate("c:\test.pdf", "_blank") and invoking JavaScript like this: window.open("c:\test.pdf", "_blank") Both give "Access is denied". However it works in plain HTML when I do <input type="button" value="test" onclick="window.open('c:\test.pdf', '_blank')" /> Is it Silverlight security restriction? Can I open a local file in a browser from Silverlight application? The reason behind this is that users store local paths and want to open those files from the app.

  I have 2 websites, site A running on port 80 and site B configured to run on port 8080. I can access site A no problem, but site B I can only access from the local web server machine. Externally it is not accessable, I have tried the url and ip and neither work. I have tried different configuring on port 8081 as a test and that didnt work either. What IIS settings should I look at?

Every seems working well, but when using the external access (ie via https), some links are not working because they use the internal name (http://mysite) instead of the FQDN via https (https://mysite.mydomain.fr*) Any hint or suggestion are welcome. *yes, i'm french. =) EDIT : examples of links that are not working : - when clicking on a folder in a library - when clicking on "My links" then "My sharepoint sites" and then clicking on one of the links displayed

  [Environment] Server Sharepoint Portal Server 2003 Client Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0 Microsoft Office 2003 Hello~ Today I received a call from one of my client and she said that she received an alert, "Ambiguous name detected: tempDDE" when attemping to open a doc from library. So I googled some and found solutions from MS and others and modified from Normal.dot to Normal1.dot. But after that, when I opened it again from library another problem happend and it is the doc contents is not loaded. When I click the link of doc, then the WIN?WORD.exe pops up but the contents of the document is not showing up (Silent). I tried some Open the doc file using Word Open Menu (Library Link) = Worked Get the url of the file and open it uing using Word Open Menu = Worked Add the url to Trusted Site = Done but not helped Any advices are welcomed. • Lotus Notes doesn't open from Dock

  Ever since installing Lotus Notes on my mac I haven't been able to properly access it from the dock. If the program is off then it will open up fine the first time but then clicking on the icon will not make Notes jump to the front of the screen. It is only a minor thing but as it is the only program on my dock that I need to CMD-Tab to access it gets pretty annoying! Any help would be greatly appreciated. • My facebook blocking ACL has stopped working

  This probably very simple. This was setup before I arrived, and has been working to block facebook. I recently eliminated some static port forwarding on this 2691 (as in, I don't think anything else has changed), and now facebook is once again accessible. Why is this list not doing what it seems like it should be doing (and was doing)? Would an extended outbound ACL be more appropriate (I think that would have been my thought if I had been tasked with creating this in the first place)? Something different? • LocalUser access for WCF hosted in IIS

  I have tried every combination to allow unauthenticated access to WCF as in "LocalUser" accounts, in IIS without success. Here is what I've most recently tried: wsHttpBinding with Message security and mode set to "None". IIS anonymous access enabled, all others disabled, folder level access at default (but granted read access to "Users" which is all users in our domain). I understand I may not have provided enough information to solve the issue, but perhaps somebody can point me in the right direction - is this likely to be a IIS configuration issue or a WCF configuration issue... if WCF, is it likely to be a client level or server level issue? The error I get when attempting to access here is "User is not authenticated". We have ASMX services in the domain which are behaving properly, I am the first developer using WCF here.

  Operating System: Windows 7 (x64) Problem: Certain Programs are unable to access the internet. They claim that there is no connection when you already are connected. Hello, before we start. Just letting you know I'm new here, and I'm very new to Windows 7. I installed it two days ago. I just installed Windows 7 on my laptop and I have a few problems. I play World of Warcraft, as well as a variety of games. And when I first attempt to log into the game, I get a windows error message, but it doesn't stop there. I thought World of Warcraft got corrupted during the upgrade. It seems that I am unable to access the internet from other online games as well. Most say in along the lines of "Cannot connect to patch server, try again later." I cannot use a downloader Also, I have internet explorer. The x32 version of the browser cannot connect to the internet, and when I try to enter "google.com", it says the same thing. I'm only accessing this site through Internet Explorer x64, which I would have been fine with is it's compatible with Adobe Flash. The only thing that seems to connect to the internet are Internet Explorer x64 and Windows Live Messenger. Here are the steps I have taken, but none worked. 1.) Disable Windows Firewall 2.) Have Windows Firewall Enabled, but allow the specific programs to access internet. And allowed all incoming access. 3.) Disabled UAC, Ran the programs as an admin, and set compatibility to Vista. 4.) Uninstalled an anti-virus program. (McAffee Security Suite 2010) 5.) Reinstalled the programs 6.) Reinstalled Windows 7 7.) Retaken the steps on the Administrator account. Please assist me in this problem. I need to get back into the game. Thanks so much in advance.

When you open the context menu on one of these you have the option 'Open' which opens a view of that file in that revision. How can I open the editor for the selected file, i.e. the file in the version of the working copy, right from the history view? Background is that I want to use the history view to find files that have been changed recently to do code reviewing. People commit via subversion and I use subclipse to connect eclipse to the subversion server. Today, I must use the 'Open resource'/'Open type' function and type the name of the file that I can read from the history view.

  The only way I know how to open the Select Users, Computers, Service Accounts or Groups is by right clicking on a folder and selecting Properties - Security Tab - Edit - Advanced. Below is a screen shot of the window I want to access: Is there any other way to view the full list (Find Now)? I am writing documentation and I want the user to check if a user exists before creating it. I would ideally like them to access this via control panel or similar.
