  • Using tramp with EmacsW32 and cygwin, possible?

    Hi, I have some trouble setting up Tramp with EmacsW32 and cygwin. I have configured emacs to use cygwin as shell using w32shell. I also set the HOME enviromental variable to c:/cygwin/home/myusername Problem is that tramp seems to hang and that no connection is made: "Tramp waiting for prompts for the new shell". I have tried to turn on debugging, but still only see this message. Looking forward to get some tips on this. Thank you.

    I find it very hard to answer question like : "why did you implemented it this way?" or "what's the reason of using that instead of that?" usually because the implementation is the result of a long thought process and trials and errors. By the time i'm finished i can't recall every specific details. I wanted to know if you have some tips to keep track of your thought process and answer those question easily.

    I'm new to web-development in ASP, and I'm experiencing a problem where I try to access a certain page through a link and I get an error, the first part says it's an exception, then tips on debugging and then the stacktrace. What happens is that this code isn't on my application, I've had errors like this before, and the peace of code that appeared usually helped me a lot.

  • .Net Com Interop Create Instance Slow

    I have a .net 4 application that uses a Com Dll to send SMS messages. I used TlbImp to create the interop assembly and that is what is referenced in the application. When I try to create an instance of this class, it takes a really long time (2-5 seconds). I ran performance profile in VS 2010 and the call that takes the longest by far is System.Activator.CreateInstance(). I am looking for tips on how to debug or gotchas with using Com Interop.

    Does anyone know of a .NET API (source-code is preferrable of course) that I can access all the common chat clients thru it (GT, Yahoo, MSN, AIM, FB, ICQ, SKYPE and more)? I guess I am looking for a .NET library project that performs something like pidjin. I need it because I hate Pidgin's interface and functionality, and I want to have a Google-Talk desktop like UI.   • In what situations does Flash / SWF misbehave in different browsers?

    Hi, Recently I had some issues with Flash in IE, involving a SWF which is something like a gallery. In Firefox its loads perfectly, but in IE it doesn't work properly sometimes. The first time it is loaded its works fine but when I refresh all the images are blank. The image data came from XML. I wish to get some tips regarding the browsers and Flash / SWF behavior in each.     Hi All, I am trying to compare to textbox values on an aspx form. Both the values represent dates. The are formatted like "dd/MMM/yyyy". How can I compare them in javascript to see if they are not equal and which one is greater etc... Does javascript have a date constructor for strings like this? Any tips would be appreciated.   • Using Wix to Deploy an Outlook Add-In

    I have a requirement to create an installer for an Outlook 2003 add-in that was created with VSTO. We currently are using Wix for our installers as they play nice with MSBuild and I need to use it to create the installer for the outlook add-in. How would I get a list of States with the number of distinct SSN's in each state?   • How to take URL and split/string to get URL variables in Flash AS3

    So I have a URL that I need my Flash movie to extract variables from: example link: http://www.example.com/example_xml.php?aID=1234&bID=5678 I need to get the aID and the bID numbers. I'm able to get the full URL into a String via ExternalInterface var url:String = ExternalInterface.call("window.location.href.toString"); if (url) testField.text = url; Just unsure as how to manipulate the String to just get the 1234 and 5678 numbers. Appreciate any tips, links or help with this!
