  • After opening a mdb in a working copy

    Hallo all, In my institute, Tortoise is employed for the purpose of version control. I find, if a mdb file which belongs to the working copy of a project reporitory is opened thru Access, the ordinary will be labelled with an explamation mark. Since the database has not been modified, I don't unterstand why Tortoise regards the opening as a kind of modification. Thanks in advance for any tips. John

  • using Visual Studio 2010 and speech recognition on windows 7?

    I've never used Speech Recognition (SR) at all, but I'm hearing that the built-in SR capabilities of windows 7 is not half-bad. I'm thinking that it might be a real productivity booster with Visual Studio so I can decrease the use of the mouse (no Emacs comments please ;-). I don't envision not using the keyboard to type the actual code--but maybe that would work too? Does anyone have experience using SR with Visual Studio on Windows 7? If so, any tips on usage?

    I work on a huge project. While we program we end up meeting for endless backlog sizing sessions where all the developers sit down with the team and size user stories. Scrum doubters are saying that this process is taking too long and development time is being wasted. My question is how long should it take to size a user story on average? And does anyone have any tips to make these sizing sessions go quicker?

    I am building a small web app for a pharmacy to keep track of sales and stocks, so in short, in one page, the pharmacist will enter a bar-code and the item is displayed, pharmacist enters quantity (price will be automatically calculated) then next item and next and so on, I haven't worked with such a problem before so I would appreciate any advices/tips on how to do it, what to use and wither its already done in some tidy neat way I can just import into my page.     Hi there, I feel like this is quite delicate, I have various folders whith projects I would like to backup into a zip/tar file, but would like to avoid backing up files such as pyc files and temporary files. I also have a Postgres db I need to backup. Any tips for running this operation as a python script? Also, would there be anyway to stop the process from hogging resources in the process? Help would be very much appreciated.

    I have a tower built from blocks like this : Whole Tower is an array of Towers. Each Tower contains Box[] array containing single Box'es.What layout should I use for this and can you give me any tips on how to create it ? Would it be easier if I would create Grid[][] containing Box'es? But I guess I can't store Box object inside Grid array. I'm just totally confused :/

    How do I format an NSURL (what path, or path generator function) so that I can display a downloaded local file (NOT part of the application NSBundle) for use offline? The idea is to snag an HTML file, clean it up and stash it in the iFoo application specific storage area, then later use UIWebView to display it. How this can be done in april 2012 without a pagerefresh crossbrowserwise (IE7+,FF,Opera,Safari) ?
