• How to generate a video signal from Android device via USB?

  Is it possible to create an application for Android, which can generate a video signal (HDMI or VGA) via USB? Any Android device has miniUSB port. Theoretically it's possible to create a small commutator device on microcontroller or microscheme, which will be a USB-host for Android device. You'll connect Android device with commutator and then connect commutator with monitor. For example, the scheme looks like: Android phone - commutator (USB-host) - TV/Monitor. Summary, I need to connect android phone with TV via miniUSB port. I found soft which can use miniUSB - HDMI cable, but those apps only for Motorolla Droid and HTC Evo. I'll glad to get links to existing apps or projects on that theme, to info about software generation HDMI-signal and connecting Android devices with another devices.   I'm writing an interposition library to track the usage of some library functions in libc, such as open(), close(), connect(), etc. It works generally well on most of the applications. However, when I try it with PHP, using PHP's MySQL module in particular, none of the function calls to libc inside this module is been tracked (so no connect(), no socket(), etc.). 'strace' told me that the system calls socket(), connect(), etc., took place. Running 'file' on the module and libmysqlclient.so.16.0.0 said that they are all dynamically linked. So it shouldn't be a problem caused by static linkage. What might be the problem? I'm using Fedora 11 64-bit version. Thank you.

  We have a thread program that sends bulk mail. The information like 1. To 2. Subject Etc., are fetched from database, mail is composed and pushed to SMTP server. One of our customer sent a bulk mail with 2390 email. After sending 40 emails, suddenly the following exception occurred EXCEPTION javax.mail.AuthenticationFailedException STACKTRACE javax.mail.Service.connect(Service.java:306) javax.mail.Service.connect(Service.java:156) javax.mail.Service.connect(Service.java:105) ............... java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:619) and the rest 2350 emails failed.   hi, I made a swf that interacts with other site on the internet (which has a crossdomainfile for me). in the main.mxml there is a definition of webservice (mx:WebService)(which is not in my domain). Therefore when loading the swf, there is a first call to crossdomainfile.xml. I put this swf on my server so that my clients can get it. When i connect to my server to download the swf, i expect to be asked if i want to allow the swf connect to foreign webservice domain. But i am not being asked. Do i always need to define exception in Global Security Settings panel? I don't want my client do define special things.. Is there a best practice for that? Why when i surfing the net other swf can do this? I read about the FlashPlayerTrust, can i define there a website i trust my swf will connect to? anyone knows?

• Verizon Fivespot firewall exceptions

  I have a Verizon Fivespot Wi-Fi router and am having issues connecting to the computer that uses it to get on the internet. I am able to connect to the Fivespot admin pages remotely and I am able to connect to the internet from the computer behind the Fivespot. I've tried asking this on superuser but have gotten nothing, I figure this is pertinent to programmers working on remote computers as well. There are two sections pertinent to this issue, Port Filtering And, Port Forwarding I've tried each individually and both together but cannot access anything through the router except for the admin page. I am trying to connect through SSH on Port 22 to an Ubuntu 10.04 box over wifi. I have called Verizon Tech Support but they were unhelpful, the person essentially read what it says on each screen without any elaboration. Any help is greatly appreciated!

  I am trying to display a list of my vbulliten threads on a non-vbulliten portion of my site. However I can't select the vbulliten database: <?php $host = "localhost"; $user = "my username"; $pass = "my password"; $dbname = "tableprefix_forum"; mysql_connect($host, $user, $pass) or die ("Could not connect to database server."); mysql_select_db($dbname) or die ("Could not select database."); ?> I am substituting some things here in this example but all my credentials are correct including my db server username, password and forum db name. So what is the problem? Is it due to some internal security feature in vbulliten, does this system not allow you to connect to it's db if the page trying to connect to it is a non-vbulliten page?

  Hi all, Basically what I'm trying to achieve is a program which allow users to connect to a each other over a network in, essentially, a chat room. What I'm currently struggling with is writing the code so that the users can connect to each other without knowing the IP-address of the computer that the other users are using or knowing the IP-address of a server. Does anyone know of a way in which I could simply have all of the users scan the IP range of my network in order to find any active 'room' and then give the user a chance to connect to it? Also, the hope is that there will be no need for a central server to run this from, rather every user will simply be connected to all other user, essentially being the server and client at the same time.

  I can't figure out how to get the following routes. Here's an extract from my routes.rb file: map.resources :treatments map.root :controller => "home" map.connect ':controller/:action/:id' map.connect ':controller/:action/:id.:format' map.connect ':action', :controller => 'home' # replaces the need to manually map pure actions to a default controller map.resources :bookings map.resource :dashboard map.resource :home Now I do realise that the ordering matters, but I can't seem to get them to work correctly. What I want is so http://localhost:3000/bookings/new actually takes you to an action http://localhost:3000/bookings/signmeup if you're either not signed in, or haven't got a login. The problem is that if I change my routes around, when I attempt to create a new booking after I have logged in, then it doesn't POST the form submission and just takes me back to the view page. This is definitely because of the routes as if I rearrange map.resources :bookings to be before all of them, then it works. Any ideas?

  I am trying to connect to oracle database. I am able to connect to it through a local SQL Developer tool by sticking something in the oranames.tns file. My question is that i will be deploying this website to a number of places. A few questions: What is the simplest way i can use to connect to this database and do very basic queries. I see some examples that have me referencing oracleclient dlls. Other methods not? Is there a best practice here? Am i going to have to update the oranames.tns file on everyone on of the machines that i deploy to ? is there any simpler way

• alias not working on sql server 2008 r2

  I have several servers with SQL Server 2008 R2 instances on them, and alias doesn't work on any of them. Clients connect to these servers using TCP/IP without any problem, telnet works on IP/Port I use for my alias, the firewall exceptions are created, basically everything works fine, except when I create an alias, I can not connect through it to my server using either TCP/IP or named pipes (local or one of other servers). I've installed latest cumulative updates, which updates native client too (which I think is the source of problem) and I still have the problem. The stranger part is, if I create an alias on a server with sql server 2005 (native client 9), I can connect to my 2008 r2 instances. Any suggestions?

  I'm having two errors when I test the "mysql_connect()" function in php. I just installed PHP and MySQL from scratch.   We are using Sybase SQL Anywhere 11. We need to encrypt some of our tables in our database. I followed the instruction and did it. We selected the "strong" option with encryptionKey and AES256_FIPS algorithm. But there are something I am not clear about them. It will require encryptonKey when we create the database, remove the database and start the database server but it will NOT require encryptionKey when we stop the database server and connect to the server to create tables and add data. Why there is NO encryptionKey asked when we connect to it or try to stop the server? I am doing something wrong? don't know how to test the encryption? I still can see all plain text in the encrypted tables when I use Sybase Central tool. If somebody knows the database user name and password, he/she can connect to the database and read the content without the encryptionKey. is this right?

  I am coding an application for my company wherein i want to parse the results of a mysql query and display them in my application but i am facing a problem conecting to the database. the ip address of the server is : 172.30.192.20 and before i can ping it i have to add route on my pc something like this route add 172.30.192.0 mask 255.255.255.0 172.30.192.56 where 172.30.192.56 is the gateway Now whenever i try to connect 172.30.192.20 which is where the sql server is running my appplication instead connects to 172.30.192.56 i am coding the application in delphi and have used TmySQL After this didnt workout i tried an application called SQLwave. I just entered the server ip address and was able to connect to the database without any problems. it seems sqlwave uses mydac which is why even i tried using it but using the default connection options and setting i was still not able to connect. it seems sqlwave uses a custom connection using mydac i just want to know whats going wrong with my connection

  I've been searching google a lot for this issue and really found nothing. People just keep copying MySQL documentation on last_insert_id and nothing else. I've got an issue regarding last_insert_id, because for both situations (php & sql) it returns 0. YES: I've set a PRIMARY & UNIQUE field with AUTO_INCREMENT value YES: i've done some inserting before NO: Making double query with INSERT AND SELECT LAST... doesn't work. • Eclipse BIRT: Problem with number of rows in a dataset

  Hello!:-) My new Problem is the following: An sql-query to a database (DB2) returns 1500 rows but BIRT shows me only 500 in the dataset-editior. To count them i used a computed column (Integer) with the following logic: Total.count(row["VPK"]) I'm using the RCP-Designer (BIRT 2.1.3). How can i get the other rows as well? Patrick
