    I also tried 2 solution. But It doesn't worked. Go to Tools Options menu in Visual Studio. Go to Debugging General menu item in left pane. In right view you will see and option Step over properties and operators (Managed only). Uncheck this option and then you are all set. and Go to Tools Options menu in Visual Studio. Go to Debugging General menu item in left pane. In right view you will see and option Enable Just My Code (Managed only). Uncheck this option and then you are all set.

  • Any way to not break on certain errors in Visual Studio 2010?

    I'm working on a VS2010 project where I'm using DataAnnotations on my objects to handle validation. However, this is sort of a pain in the butt while trying to do interactive debugging because it keeps pausing VS.Net on validation errors. Obviously, I want to break on some errors, but not these particular types. Am I out of luck and I just need to turn on and off my Break on All Errors setting? Or is there some way to tell VS to just ignore these when they happen? (these are errors generated via Validator.ValidateProperty calls.) Thanks

    Latest roll up patch for 10.1.3.4.1 is now out in the wild. Yep, there are bug fixes but the guys have implemented some great enhancements. I'll be covering some of them over the coming weeks, from collapsing bookmarks in your PDFs to better MS AD support to 'true' Excel templates, yes you read that correctly! Make a backup copy of the xmlp-server-config.xml file located in <application installation>/WEB-INF/ directory, where your application server unpacked the BI Publisher war or ear file. Example: In an Oracle AS/OC4J 10.1.3 deployment, the location is <ORACLE_HOME>/j2ee/home/applications/xmlpserver/xmlpserver/WEB-INF/xmlp-server-config.xml 2 - Back up all the directories under the BI Publisher repository (for example: {Oracle_Home}/xmlp/XMLP). 3 - If you are using Scheduling, back up your existing BI Publisher Scheduler schema. 4 - Shut down BI Publisher. 5 - Undeploy the BI Publisher application ("xmlpserver") from your J2EE application server. See your application server documentation for instructions how to undeploy an application. 6 - Deploy the 10.1.3.4 xmlpserver.ear or xmlpserver.war to your application server.   • SharePoint 2010 Hosting :: Setting Default Column Values on a Folder Programmatically

    The reason I write this post today is because my initial searches on the Internet provided me with nothing on the topic.  I was hoping to find a reference to the SDK but I didn’t have any luck.  What I want to do is set a default column value on an existing folder so that new items in that folder automatically inherit that value.  It’s actually pretty easy to do once you know what the class is called in the API.  I did some digging and discovered that class is MetadataDefaults. It can be found in Microsoft.Office.DocumentManagement.dll.  Note: if you can’t find it in the GAC, this DLL is in the 14/CONFIG/BIN folder and not the 14/ISAPI folder.  Add a reference to this DLL in your project.  In my case, I am building a console application, but you might put this in an event receiver or workflow. In my example today, I have simple custom folder and document content types.  I have one shared site column called DocumentType.  I have a document library which each of these content types registered.  In my document library, I have a folder named Test and I want to set its default column values using code.  Here is what it looks like.  Start by getting a reference to the list in question.  This assumes you already have a SPWeb object.  In my case I have created it and it is called site. SPList customDocumentLibrary = site.Lists["CustomDocuments"]; You then pass the SPList object to the MetadataDefaults constructor. MetadataDefaults columnDefaults = new MetadataDefaults(customDocumentLibrary); Now I just need to get my SPFolder object in question and pass it to the meethod SetFieldDefault.  This takes a SPFolder object, a string with the name of the SPField to set the default on, and finally the value of the default (in my case “Memo”). SPFolder testFolder = customDocumentLibrary.RootFolder.SubFolders["Test"]; columnDefaults.SetFieldDefault(testFolder, "DocumentType", "Memo"); You can set multiple defaults here.  When you’re done, you will need to call .Update(). columnDefaults.Update(); Here is what it all looks like together. using (SPSite siteCollection = new SPSite("http://sp2010/sites/ECMSource")) {     using (SPWeb site = siteCollection.OpenWeb())     {         SPList customDocumentLibrary = site.Lists["CustomDocuments"];         MetadataDefaults columnDefaults = new MetadataDefaults(customDocumentLibrary);          SPFolder testFolder = customDocumentLibrary.RootFolder.SubFolders["Test"];         columnDefaults.SetFieldDefault(testFolder, "DocumentType", "Memo");         columnDefaults.Update();     } } You can verify that your property was set correctly on the Change Default Column Values page in your list This is something that I could see used a lot on an ItemEventReceiver attached to a folder to do metadata inheritance.  Whenever, the user changed the value of the folder’s property, you could have it update the default.  Your code might look something columnDefaults.SetFieldDefault(properties.ListItem.Folder, "MyField", properties.ListItem[" This is a great way to keep the child items updated any time the value a folder’s property changes.  I’m also wondering if this can be done via CAML.  I tried saving a site template, but after importing I got an error on the default values page.  I’ll keep looking and let you know what I find out.

    A company that I work for just acquired another company that was using Google Apps for it's email. We use Microsoft Outlook Exchange. The founders of the company (who are leaving) want to maintain a few email addresses on Google Apps for them to use over the next year. Does anyone know if it's possible to have just a few Google Apps email addresses working on a domain and the rest of the domain running on Outlook Exchange?

    We recently had one of the best community events in Ahmedabad. We were fortunate that we had SQL Experts from around the world to have presented at this event. This gathering was very special because besides Jacob Sebastian and myself, we had two other speakers traveling all the way from Florida (Rushabh Mehta) and Bangalore (Vinod Kumar).There were a total of nearly 170 attendees and the event was blast. Here are the details of the event. Pinal Dave Presenting at Community Tech Days On the day of the event, it seemed to be the coldest day in Ahmedabad but I was glad to see hundreds of people waiting for the doors to be opened some hours before. We started the day with hot coffee and cookies. Yes, food first; and it was right after my keynote. I could clearly see that the coffee did some magic right away; the hall was almost full after the coffee break. Jacob Sebastian Presenting at Community Tech Days Jacob Sebastian, an SQL Server MVP and a close friend of mine, had an unusual job of surprising everybody with an innovative topic accompanied with lots of question-and-answer portions. That’s definitely one thing to love Jacob, that is, the novelty of the subject. His presentation was entitled “Best Database Practices for the .Net”; it really created magic on the crowd. Pinal Dave Presenting at Community Tech Days Next to Jacob Sebastian, I presented “Best Database Practices for the SharePoint”. It was really fun to present Database with the perspective of the database itself. The main highlight of my presentation was when I talked about how one can speed up the database performance by 40% for SharePoint in just 40 seconds. It was fun because the most important thing was to convince people to use the recommendation as soon as they walk out of the session. It was really amusing and the response of the participants was remarkable. Pinal Dave Presenting at Community Tech Days My session was followed by the most-awaited session of the day: that of Rushabh Mehta. He is an international BI expert who traveled all the way from Florida to present “Self Service BI” session. This session was funny and truly interesting. In fact, no one knew BI could be this much entertaining and fascinating. Rushabh has an appealing style of presenting the session; he instantly got very much interaction from the audience. Rushabh Mehta Presenting at Community Tech Days We had a networking lunch break in-between, when we talked about many various topics. It is always interesting to get in touch with the Community and feel a part of it. I had a wonderful time during the break. Vinod Kumar Presenting at Community Tech Days After lunch was apparently the most difficult session for the presenter as during this time, many people started to fall sleep and get dizzy. This spot was requested by Microsoft SQL Server Evangelist Vinod Kumar himself. During our discussion he suggested that if he gets this slot he would make sure people are up and more interactive than during the morning session. Just like always, this session was one of the best sessions ever. Vinod is true to his word as he presented the subject of “Time Management for Developer”. This session was the biggest hit in the event because the subject was instilled in the mind of every participant. Vinod Kumar Presenting at Community Tech Days Vinod’s session was followed by his own small session. Due to “insistent public demand”, he presented an interesting subject, “Tricks and Tips of SQL Server“. In 20 minutes he has done another awesome job and all attendees wanted more of the tricks. Just as usual he promised to do that next time for us. Vinod’s session was succeeded by Prabhjot Singh Bakshi’s session. He presented an appealing Silverlight concept.   • Truly understand the threshold for document set in document library in SharePoint

    Recently, I am working on an issue with threshold. The problem is that when the user navigates to a view of the document library, it displays the error message “list view threshold is exceeded”. However, in the view, it has no data. The list view threshold limit is 5000 by default for the non-admin user. This limit is not the number of items returned by your query; it is the total number of items the database needs to read to calculate the returned result set. So although the view does not return any result but to calculate the result (no data to show), it needs to access more than 5000 items in the database. To fix the issue, you need to create an index for the column that you use in the filter for the view. Let’s look at the problem in details. You can download a solution to replicate this issue here. 1. Go to Central Admin ==> Web Application Management ==>General Settings==> Click on Resource Throttling 2. Change the list view threshold in web application from 5000 to 2000 so that I can show the problem without loading more than 5000 items into the list. FROM TO 3. Go to the page that displays the approved view of the Loan application document set. It displays the message as shown below although I do not have any data returned for this view. 4. To get around this, you need to create an index column. Go to list settings and click on the Index columns. 5. Click on the “Create a new index” link. 6. Select the LoanStatus field as I use this filed as the filter to create the view. 7. After the index is created now I can access the approved view, as you can see it does not return any data. Notes: List View Threshold: Specify the maximum number of items that a database operation can involve at one time. Operations that exceed this limit are prohibited.   • How to replace the SharePoint date calendar control with more user friendly jQuery calendar control

    When you use the SharePoint date and time type for date of birth field, you will notice that the calendar control is extremely non-user-friendly. You can only navigate month by month as shown below. To resolve the issue, you can customize the list form page using SharePoint designer and replace the OOB calendar control with popular jQuery control. The solution works for both SharePoint 2010,2013 and office365. Here are the steps for how to achieve this. 1. Open SharePoint designer and create a New List Form called customNew and set as default form for the selected type. 2. Open style library in file explorer and copy jQuery and jQuery UI files into the style library in SharePoint site. You can download the jQuery and jQuery UI from the web and the content of the contactPersonCustomNewForm.js is as below. I use the dd/mm/yy format as my locale in Regional Settings is English(New Zealand).   • Create Outlook Appointments from PowerShell

    I've been toying around with a script to create a special set of calendar objects in Outlook that show when my SQL Server Agent Jobs are scheduled to run. I haven't finished yet, but I thought I would share the part that creates the Outlook Appointments.I have yet to fill a variable with the start and end times, and then loop through that to create the appointments. I'm thinking I'll make the script below into a function, and feed it those variables in a loop. The script below creates a whole new Calendar Folder in Outlook called "SQL Server Agent Jobs". I also use categories quite a bit, so you'll see that too. Caution: If you plan to play with this script, do it on an isolated workstation, not on your "regular" Outlook calendar.   • Can you open a form or window in an Outlook Addin (VSTO)

    Hi, I am new to VSTO programming. I have created a basic addin for Outlook 2007 that monitors a folder containing XML text files which it opens and then sends them as an email, then deletes them. this all works fine. I want the user to be able to configure certain settings for the way the addin/program will operate, such as the folder that it will monitor, and other things. The logical way to do this is to create a menu item in the addin (which I have also done) that opens a windows form (or XAML window) that allows them to enter the parameters. In my addin I added a new item Windows Form, which worked, and the designer opened. However, in my addin code I cannot open the form. The Show() method normally associated with form objects is not available. Is this simply something you cannot do, or am I just doing it the wrong way? I have read about Outlook form regions, but these seemed to be attached to outlook items such as a new email, task, appointment etc... there doesnt seem to be a way to create a form region that can be opened in the main window of Outlook. Ideally, I would like to go with my original method of opening a new window from a menu item, but if this isnt possible I would like to hear other solutions. Thanks, Will.

  • Outlook VSTO AddIn for Meetings

    We have created a VSTO addin for Outlook Meetings. As part of this we trap on the SendEvent of the message on the FormRegionShowing event: _apptEvents.Send += new Microsoft.Office.Interop.Outlook.ItemEvents_SendEventHandler(_apptEvents_Send); The method _apptEvents_Send then tests on a couple of properties and exits where appropriate. private void _apptEvents_Send(ref bool Cancel) { if (!_Qualified) { MessageBox.Show("Meeting has not been qualified", "Not Qualified Meeting", MessageBoxButtons.OK, MessageBoxIcon.Information); chkQualified.Focus(); Cancel = true; } } The problem that we're having is that some users' messages get sent twice. Once when the meeting is sent and a second time when the user re-opens outlook. I've looked for memory leaks, thinking that something might not be getting disposed of properly, and have added explicit object disposal on all finally calls to try and make sure resources are managed, but still getting the functionality incosistently across the organization. i.e. I never encountered the problem during development, nor other developers during testing. All users are up to date on framework (3.5 SP1) and Hotfixes for Outlook. Does anyone have any ideas on what might be causing this? Any ideas anyone might have would be greatly appreciated.

  • Using VB6 to search for existence of DataFile in Outlook

    Hi, I am wanting to write an Add-In for Outlook 2003 which, when Outlook is opened, search for the existence of a datafile called DMSDataStore and if it doesn't exist will install the datafile. I have managed to create the Add-In using VB6 and it runs when I open Outlook. However I haven't found the best/easiest way to search for the existence of the datafile. If the datafile exists it is visible within Outlook under the user's mailbox, much the same as an archive folder is. I would like to be able to search for it by name which is DMSDataFile. I did try - Set tmpInbox = parentFolder.Folders("DMSDataFile") This works OK if the datafile exists but will throw an error if it doesn't. I can create an error handler which will then install the datafile but this doesn't seem like a very tidy way of doing things. I guess I might have to recursively search for the datafile. Can someone let me know what is the best / easiest way to search for the datafile using the name of the datafile and give me some code with which to do it. Thanks G

("urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office#Keywords" IS NULL AND "urn:schemas:httpmail:messageflag" IS NULL) Get all mail that is categorized as "Ryan" and flagged with a red "Today" flag. Don't know how to write this one. Get all mail that is uncategorized and flagged with a red "Today" flag. Don't know how to write this one. Once I have the individual queries, I will combine and OR them. I am stuck on how to filter the flag value.
