  • HTTP Basic Auth for Selenium in Firefox 2

    I know that normally you can login to sites that require HTTP basic authentication with Selenium by passing the username and password in the URL, e.g.: selenium.open("http://myusername:[email protected]/mypath"); I've been running a Selenium test with Firefox 2 and there I still get the "Authentication Required" dialog window?   • Internet Explorer plugin

    I have created the plugin which change the content (add a small picture after each link). But when I visit HTTPS-sites then IE shows popup: "To help protect your security, IE has restricted ......". I pressed allow button, my pictures were displayed. However IE shows it again. And it happens again and again. What have I done wrong? Have I registered my plugin incorrectly ?

    Any suggestions on how to become a better Android programmer? I'm past intro tutorials, which mainly focus on how to use pieces of the SDK, but I still struggle to structure big Android apps. Obviously the best use of my time is continuing with my coding projects, but I'm wondering if I should be learning more about Android particulars, solidifying my somewhat shaky Java knowledge, going back to object-oriented fundamentals or patterns...? Everything's shiny. But, I hit the back button two times so I'm back in the settings of the List Content Type. This time when I click Advance settings, the URL of the existing document template is still MeetingMinutes.docx, but there is no (Edit Template) link. Troubling. Pressing on, I go back to AllItems.aspx and click New Meeting Minutes. As Word is loading, I see a little Opening dialog which says, Opening: http://myserver/sites/testsite/Shared%20Documents/Forms/Document/MeetingMinutes.docx, to which Word responds: "Word was unable to read this document. It may be corrupt." So the Document Template works correctly in the Site Content Type (where it does me no good), but is not working in the List Content Type (where I really need it). Now, I know I could put this in _layouts, but from what I've read, _cts is the way to do it. What am I doing wrong?

  • Why meta refresh followed by 2 redirects?

    I have encountered several websites where the initial visit by a user results in a http-equiv refresh to another (usually gibberish) url, which then promptly redirects (302) to another gibberish url, which in turn immediately redirects to yet a fourth url that actually displays the landing page for the site. My question is: what the heck? Why would a server be set up to behave this way?     I'm using Versions for SVN. I attempt to commit and get this message: Commit failed (details follow): '/Users/mike/Sites/mysite.com/astss-cvsdude/Trunk/cart/flashfile.swf' is scheduled for addition, but is missing I suppose this is because I had added files to the repo, and then deleted them via the filesystem. I'd like to have it simply make note of my change, and apply the change to the repo. How can I get around this?

    Two of the biggest advantages of MVC over webforms were non-existent viewstate and URL routing. VS2010 and .NET 4.0 incorporates built-in URL routing for Webforms as well as better control for viewstate. I advocate use of MVC for extranet sites due to the MVC design pattern and its general lightweight nature but in light of this new announcement has Webforms closed the gap? Why would you still pick MVC over Webforms? Thanks
