  Hello, I am working on a mail client Application for downloading gmail emails, which uses IMAP C-client library. I want to download emails from "ALLMAIL" mailbox folder. as you know ALLMAIL folder consists of Inbox,Sent Mail and Draft Mails. Here my requirement is to distinguish Draft from Inbox and Sent mails. Usually if we download envelop of emails, that should give email's Draft info. But Gmail is failing to set this draft info. So can you please suggest how to identify draft? Thanks In advance Subbi

• Becoming a professional PHP programmer. How?

  Hello there, I'm working on my first professional project. The fact is that I don't know which are the best tools to produce something serious (I'm talking about web-develop through PHP): Are template engine like Smarty mandatory? Which one is "the best" (the most used, complete, documentated) At the moment I'm developing on Notepad++ (mostly because I find it useful and complete) is there a better development tool? Or is just a matter of personal taste? At the moment I'm studying JQuery and deepening my knowledge as regards CSS what other "mandatory" subjects can you suggest me? • suggestions for someone studying for java certification

  I have been working with java (J2EE) for about 4 years. I have been putting off the certification for a while now. I bought the exam last year and still have not taken the exam. it expires in june so I am going to give it a shot. I know certifications don't get jobs but interviews but where I work...certification will put a 'stamp' on my resume and I think it'll popout in the eyes of the management. Anyways, I am going for JAVA 6. Can someone suggest some good mock exams that are kind of new and relevant. I came across this link but most of these exams are fairly old. I am using kathy Sierra's book for studying. Any other resources/pointers?

• Monitor file in Java on Linux 64bits

  I'd like to be notified when a file has been created, deleted or changed, but not using polling mechanism. I have surveyed related Java API that can use.(EX:JNotify, JPathWatch and JXFileWatcher) Those APIs provide file monitor by using native component on OS. But I met the same problem is that they can't run on Linux 64bits, because native component in those APIs donen't support Linux 64bits, and this confused me for a long time. I also know that there'll be a WatchService API as part of NIO2 in JDK7, but JDK7 has not released yet. So, can any one suggest me a better solution? Very Thanks.

• Should I convert overlong UTF-8 strings to their shortest normal form?

  I've just been reworking my Encoding::FixLatin Perl module to handle overlong UTF-8 byte sequences and convert them to the shortest normal form. My question is quite simply "is this a bad idea"? A number of sources (including this RFC) suggest that any over-long UTF-8 should be treated as an error and rejected. They caution against "naive implementations" and leave me with the impression that these things are inherently unsafe. Since the whole purpose of my module is to clean up messy data files with mixed encodings and convert them to nice clean utf8, this seems like just one more thing I can clean up so the application layer doesn't have to deal with it. My code does not concern itself with any semantic meaning the resulting characters might have, it simply converts them into a normalised form. Am I missing something. Is there a hidden danger I haven't considered?

• C2360 compiler error on TFS build, but not on desktop

  A c++ code snippet similar to the code below caused our TFS build to fail with a C2360 compiler error. switch (i) { case 0 : for each (int n in a) System::Console::WriteLine(n.ToString()); break; case 1 : System::Console::WriteLine("n is not in scope here"); break; } This is fixed by using {} brackets within the body of case 0, as below: switch (i) { case 0 : { for each (int n in a) System::Console::WriteLine(n.ToString()); } break; case 1 : System::Console::WriteLine("n is not in scope here"); break; } The developer had successfully compiled the code on their desktop before committing the changes. A cursory look at versions of things like compilers, Visual Studio etc on the server and desktop suggest they are the same. The source code is the same, obviously. What is the difference between a desktop build and TFS build that would smother a compiler error like this?

I tried searching for tutorials to dynamically build hashes, but all I could find were introductory articles about hashes. I would be grateful if you point me towards the right direction or suggest a nice article/tutorial.   Hey guys, does someone know how to receive a file on android via RFCOMM? I'm a newby to bluetooth issues, so please have patience with me. I'm looking for an approach to receive data via RFCOMM as a stream and store it somewhere on my phone. Saving data is not the problem, it works quite fine. The main issue is the implementation of the connection and the reliable retrieval of the data... • Creating standalone, console (shell) for domain-specific operations

  Say that I have a system service, and I want to offer a low-level maintenance access to it. For that purpose, I'd like to create a standalone, console application that somehow connects to server process and lets user type in commands, allow it to use auto-completion and auto-suggestion on single/double TAB press (just like linux bash shell, mysql cli, cmd.exe, and countless others), allow command line editing capabilities (history, cursor keys to move around text..), etc. Now, it's not that much of a problem to create something like that by rolling my own from scratch, handling user input, scanning pressed keys, and doing correct actions. But, why reinvent the wheel? Is there some library/framework that helps with this kind of problems, just like readline library that offers improved command-line editing capabilities under linux? Of course, this new "shell" would respond only to valid, domain-specific commands, and would suggest valid arguments, options, switches... Any ideas? Thanks!

  Hey, Say I have 3 classes class foo1 { List prop1;} class foo2 { foo3 prop2;} class foo3{ int Id;} now I want to select distinct foo2's from foo1 and get Id of foo3. I need to write a HQL stmt for the same. I tried the following select c.Id from (select distinct(a.prop1) from foo1.prop1 as a ) as b inner join b.prop2 as c This throws an 'Antlr.Runtime.NoViableAltException How do you suggest I should go about the same. Please note the inner subquery is working fine. So if I have made some mistakes in there please ignore that. I need a method to do the latter. Thanks in Advance.

• Need better Java application deployment strategy

  I have various Java Swing applications that are used by multiple users. My deployment strategy is to locate the .jar file on a network share, and users create shortcuts to that file. When the user launches an application, the file is copied to their machine and executed locally. This method allows for a single copy of the code and easy updating. The problem is that I can't update the file on the network share if any user is using the application at that time. I can't use Web Start because I don't have access to a cert for signing the jar. My current workaround is a separate application that copies the desired app to the user's local machine, launches the application, and then the launcher exits. There is a several second delay from when the launcher app exits and the user's app becomes visible. Can anyone suggest a better deployment method where I can easily update a central copy of the application, one where Windows XP won't maintain a lock on the file?

  i have the following html code : <FORM name=frmmail> <input id="dochtmlContent" type="hidden" name="dochtmlContent" value="oldValue"/> <script>document.dochtmlContent="newValue"</script> </FORM> and later on in a javascrip function (which is called upn submit): alert(document.dochtmlContent); document.frmmail.method = "post"; document.frmmail.ENCTYPE = "application/x-www-form-urlencoded"; document.frmmail.action = "/myServlet"; document.frmmail.submit(); Basically, I am declaring a hiden variable, changing its value and submitting it. The issue is, while I see an alert box displaying "newValue", when I submit it, my servlet recieves the "oldValue" for the dochtmlContent parameter. Can someone suggest whats wrong here.

  Hi All, I am planning to use Apache lucense in one of my projects, I want to index files based on the file properties (I won’t be indexing the data) and I want lucense to query the index so that I can quickly find list of files to based on the properties . E.g: give me all the files with access time greater than 10/10/2005 and access time less than 10/04/2010 and file created by james. Can i use Lucene for these kind of projects ? or i better of using windows search (the foor print is very heavy almost 5 MB :( ) and i have to bundling this as part of my application is seems to tough. Can you please suggest is there any better alternatives here?

• Pig: Count number of keys in a map

  I'd like to count the number of keys in a map in Pig. I could write a UDF to do this, but I was hoping there would be an easier way. data = LOAD 'hbase://MARS1' USING org.apache.pig.backend.hadoop.hbase.HBaseStorage( 'A:*', '-loadKey true -caching=100000') AS (id:bytearray, A_map:map[]); In the code above, I want to basically build a histogram of id and how many items in column family A that key has. In hoping, I tried c = FOREACH data GENERATE id, COUNT(A_map); but that unsurprisingly didn't work. Or, perhaps someone can suggest a better way to do this entirely. If I can't figure this out soon I'll just write a Java MapReduce job or a Pig UDF.

• Conversion of DOM element selection code to jQuery

  I have a large Javascript codebase to convert to jQuery. The code is structured such that DOM elements are created in Javascript (using a library called DomBuilder), and saved to variables if they will be needed later, before being added to the DOM. Eg. var inputs = { submitConfirm: INPUT({type: 'button', value: 'Submit'}), submitCancel : INPUT({type: 'button', value: 'Cancel'}) }; document.appendChild(inputs.submitConfirm); Then later for example... inputs.submitCancel.style.display = 'none'; inputs.submitCancel.addEventListener('click', onClickSubmitCancel, false); My problem is that jQuery seems to lack a way of manipulating DOM elements directly, as opposed to selecting them first (with for example $('#submitCancel'). Can anyone suggest a way to directly translate the last two Javascript lines given above to use jQuery, given that the DOM elements are already available, and so do not need to be selected?

  I am generating an aspx page which then I need to convert to png and store it somewhere. A similiar situation with mine was asked before here but got still no response. I tried also the code that the Swapnil Fegade has asked but the code is looping continually making request to loading page and no conversion is actually being done. I found some solutions on the web also but they require WebBrowser control which i understood can be used in windows form but i am building a web project.   I think there are a few similar questions that seem to suggest using app_data in the signed request (http://developers.facebook.com/docs/authentication/signed_request/) but I'm not sure if it will be possible to do what I am trying to achieve with it as I've never used it before. If I have my Facebook 'Tab' Url as follows: http://www.facebook.com/pages/PAGE_TITLE/PAGE_ID?sk=app_APP_ID What I want to do is add an extra parameter on the end as follows: &WT.mc_id=email-uk-8014 The reason for this is for tracking purposes and links will be sent out of the form http://www.facebook.com/pages/PAGE_TITLE/PAGE_ID?sk=app_APP_ID&WT.mc_id=email-uk-8014 and the extra parameter will allow us to track the campaign id. As you can see I have no way of knowing the value of the parameter beforehand as it depends on the link clicked by the user so is it possible to somehow get the value of the WT.mc_id parameter inside my iframe app?

  enter code hereI have a TabControl on a Form and in the TabPages there are ComboBoxes. When the form OnLoad, I populate the ListItems in the ComboBoxes and the attempt to set default values to string.Empty. However, the ComboBox.SelectedText = string.Empty only works for the first TabPage. The other ComboBoxes ignore the command and take the default value as the first item in the list. Why is this so? How can I overcome it? • Referencing file on disk from NSManagedObject

  Hello, What would be the best way to name a file associated to a NSManagedObject. The NSManagedObject will hold the URL to this file. But I need to create a unique filename for my file. Is there some kind of autoincrement id that I could use? Should I use mktemp (but it's not a temporary file) or try to convert the NSManagedObjectId to a filename? but I fear there will be special characters which might cause problem. What would you suggest?
