• GameKit server disconnect makes session invalid

  Hi everyone, I'm trying to build a 4 player multiplayer game using GameKit. I tried many things and I'm currently using client/server mode, meaning that I have 1 session in GKSessionModeServer and 3 other sessions connecting to this one in GKSessionModeClient. My goal is, that when a user leaves the game or gets disconnected for whatever reason, that the others can continue their game. So far this works if any of the Clients leave the game, but if the Sevrer leaves the game, send and receive calls are not reaching the other peers anymore. I tried the same with 4 peers in GKSessionModePeer with the same result (where the player who accepts connections cannot quit). Does anyone had better success in making this work? Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks!

  I dream of creating a control which works something like this: <asp:SqlDataSource id="dsFoo" runat="server" ConnectionString="<%$ ConnectionStrings:conn %>" SelectCommandType="StoredProcedure" SelectCommand="cmd_foo"> </asp:SqlDataSource> <Custom:DataViewSource id="dvFoo" runat="server" rowfilter="colid &gt; 10" datasourceid="dsFoo"> </Custom:DataViewSource> I can accomplish the same thing in the code behind by executing cmd_foo, loading the results into a DataTable, then loading them into a DataView with a RowFilter. The goal would be to have multiple DataViews for one DataSource with whatever special filters I wish to apply to the select portion of the DataSource. I could imagine extending this to be more powerful. I tried peaking at this and this but am a bit confused on a few points. Currently, my main issue is being unsure where to grab the output data of the DataSource so I can stick it into a DataTable.

  Hello all! I'm new here. I've got a question related to PHP, FTP and CURL. I need to emulate PHP's stat() with CURL FTP. I already know that it may take more than one command to do it. Here's what I've got so far (PHP/STAT ... FTP/CURL): dev ino mode ... LIST * nlink uid ... LIST * gid ... LIST * rdev size ... SIZE (or better still, use from LIST) atime mtime ... MDTM ctime blksize blocks *How is FTP LIST used and parsed (preferably on a single file)? What I need most are the values for atime and ctime, there rest is to be filled for the sake of having full functionality. My end goal is to have a class for proper FTP access with streamWrapper functionality (so as to bypass allow_url_fopen). Cheers!

  I have read little about TortoiseSVN and it capabilities, but I just can't understand how should I use basic structure. /trunk /branches /tags I have created FSFS type repo and I have imported basic structure. NB! No checkouts yet. I also have my project files in another place. How should I continue my work from here? Should I checkout repository-place all files in trunk folder-add them-commit them-then create tag for current trunk state-create branche for my goal I'm tring to achive-switch to created branch and work there? • File listing application on Windows : what language ?

  I need to create a simple application/script able to list the hierarchy of a folder containing subfolders and files (mostly PDF), so that a user can browse easily these files and maybe have a quick preview of them. The files are all on an internal file server, so the dynamic aspects should all be client-sided. My goal (and what my boss want) is to provide some sort of an HTML page listing, to have something like this. The only problem I have now is that I cannot install anything on computers, so I cannot use PHP, Python, ... This application will only runs on Windows in Internet Explorer. What are the different possibilities I have ? I don't know if I can do this but I was thinking of using HTML + Flex. Thanks for helping.

  I'm trying to solve problem 50 on Project Euler. Don't give me the answer or solve it for me, just try to answer this specific question. The goal is to find the longest sum of consecutive primes that adds to a prime below one million. I use wrote a sieve to find all the primes below n, and I have confirmed that it is correct. Next, I am going to check the sum of each subset of consecutive primes using the following method: I have a empty list sums. For each prime number, I add it to each element in sums and check the new sum, then I append the prime to sums. Here it is in python primes = allPrimesBelow(1000000) sums = [] for p in primes: for i in range(len(sums)): sums[i] += p check(sums[i]) sums.append(p) I want to know if I have called check() for every sum of two or more consecutive primes below one million The problem says that there is a prime, 953, that can be written as the sum of 21 consecutive primes, but I am not finding it.

  So I'm just getting started with Nokogiri and Rails I have the following which returns the name of someone. How would I do that ? I can't seem to find atutorial on this... My goal would eventually be to have a rails form where I'd input an IMDB link which would return title and so on... (Also I'm new to ruby rails and programming so please provide easy info!)

• Git: can I store known repositories along the repository?

  I am setting up a Git repository. I know you can add repositories using git config --global, but is there a way that those known repositories gets cloned by users? The goal would be that once the repo gets cloned by userz, they can push to other repos just by their aliases. For example, I add git://X/mobility.git as X to the repo (somehow), a user clone it from git://Y, but then can do git push X without previously doing the git config. How to do that?

• WHERE IN Query with two recordsets in Access VBA

  Hi All, My first post here, so i hope this is the right area. I am currently trying to compare 2 recordsets, one of which has come from an Excel named range, and the other from a table in the Access database. The code for each is: Set existingUserIDs = db.OpenRecordset("SELECT Username FROM UserData") Set IDsToImport = exceldb.OpenRecordset("SELECT Username FROM Named_Range") The problem is that I would like to somehow compare these two recordsets, without looping (there is a very large number of records). Is there any way to do a join or similar on these recordsets? I can not do a join before creating the recordsets, due to the fact that one is coming from Excel, and the other from Access, so they are two different DAO databases. The end goal is that I will choose only the usernames that do not already exist in the access table to be imported (so in an SQL query, it would be a NOT IN(table)). • Which workflow engine should I chose for implementing a dynamic reconfiguration of workflows?

  I want to be able to interrupt a running workflow instance, say when a new activity is about to be invoked, and extract information both about the structure of the workflow and the data in the particular instance. Then I will consult with an external system and according to its response I will possibly alter the behaviour of the workflow. The options I would like to have are addition/removal of activities and altering parameters for the activities to be invoked. I am currently struggling with the engine it's best to go with. I have looked at WWF, Apache ODE, Oracle Workflow and Active BPEL and as far as I understand they can all provide me with the options I need. I would really appreciate any recommendations on which one will be the easiest to work with for my purpose and any restrictions either of the above might have that would prevent me from reaching my goal.   Please see screenshot Goal: id like to have comments nested 1 level deep The comments would be arranged so that rating of the parent is in descending order the rating of the children comments is irrelevant The left hand side of the screenshot shows the output that Id like. The RHS shows the table data. All of the comments are held in 1 table. Im a beginner with SQL queries, the best I can do is: SELECT * FROM [Comments] WHERE ([ArticleId] = @ArticleId) ORDER BY [ThreadId] DESC, [DateMade] This somewhat does the job, but it obviously neglects the rating. So the above statement would show output where Bobs Comment and all of the children comments are before Amy's and her childrens comments. How can I run this query correctly?

The goal is to teach something instead of always telling people "never use macros". p.s.: I've used macros before... but usually I get rid of them eventually when I have a "real" solution (even if the real solution is inlined so it becomes similar to a macro).   Hello! Not a programmer, I begin with xml, html forms and xslt on Mac. I plan to use a form to post short texts in a xhtml page and invite end users to add some annotations to the said text. The users would select a specific part of the text posted and each annotation would stand for one specific chain of characters. My goal is to consolidate the tags obtained from various user's annotations to one xml "knowledge base" containing the original text with all the revision indicators. Then I plan to use xslt sheets to product various reports based on the tags obtained. my two questions are : 1- am I dreaming ? Is it really possible to do that with xml, xforms, xslt without using java, php, ajax or other seasoned programmer's tools ? 2- What should be my focus for further explorations aiming in that direction ?   Hi everyone: I'm now performing a stack buffer overflow attack test on my own PC( Ubuntu 9.10, gcc-4.4.1 ) based on the article http://www.tenouk.com/Bufferoverflowc/Bufferoverflow4.html. Yet I haven't achieved the goal. Each time a segfault is thrown accompanied with some error informaiton. I compile the source code, and wanna get further information using objdump. Function __strcpy_chk is invoked in the assembly code dumped out, and it's said that "The __strcpy_chk() function is not in the source standard; it is only in the binary standard." Does this the mechanism a compiler employed to protect runtime stack? To finish my test, how can I bypass the protection? Regards.

• How do I get the current location of an iframe?

  I have built a basic data entry application allowing users to browse external content in iframe and enter data quickly from the same page. One of the data variables is the URL. Ideally I would like to be able to load the iframes current url into a textbox with javascript. I realize now that this is not going to happen due to security issues. Has anyone done anything on the server side? or know of any .Net browser in browser controls. The ultimate goal is to just give the user an easy method of extracting the url of the page they are viewing in the iframe It doesn't necessarily HAVE to be an iframe, a browser in the browser would be ideal.   In theory I would like to produce 2 projects: 1) Asp.net (Sever A) 2) DAL running (Server B) I would like to utilise command objects to comunicate with the DAL. ASP.net instantiates a command class e.g. CmdGetAllUsers which impliments IMyCommand interface and sends it to the DAL (using ASMX or WCF). My question is: Would the class definition of CmdGetAllUsers need to exist on the DAL server? Or would having the interface definition be enough? My goal is to reduce the need to redeploy the DAL code, and have it as a fairly simple pass-through layer. Many thanks for your time.

• Is there a Javascript library for editing PDFs?

  Based on my Google and stackoverflow search I'm guessing no, but it can't hurt to ask. The goal is: store some blank forms on my server. Then present these to the user, who edits the form in the browser with Javascript and submits the form back to the server. The client wants to reuse parts of an old system (the forms) in which users would download an editable PDF, edit it, and email it back to a secretary. Our users aren't very computer savvy and many don't realize they need to email the forms back, assuming instead the forms somehow get submitted when they save their local changes (or something). I haven't seen the forms yet, so I cannot assess the viability of an alternative.

  I'm working on a program that determines if lines intersect. I'm using matrices to do this. I understand all the math concepts, but I'm new to Python and NumPy. I want to add my slope variables and yint variables to a new matrix. They are all floats. I can't seem to figure out the correct format for entering them. Here's an example: import numpy as np x = 2 y = 5 w = 9 z = 12 I understand that if I were to just be entering the raw numbers, it would look something like this: matr = np.matrix('2 5; 9 12') My goal, though, is to enter the variable names instead of the ints.
