  • Heroku and i18n Problems

    i´m having trouble getting i18n to work on heroku. i set: I18n.default_locale = :de in my environment.rb and the translation is in config/locales/de.yml works perfect on my local machines but not so on heroku. on heroku everything is in english. i don´t think i need a special gem like i18n gem, cause i don´t have it on my local machine either. maybe anyone has a solution to this?

  • Bash: "xargs cat", adding newlines after each file

    I'm using a few commands to cat a few files, like this: cat somefile | grep example | awk -F '"' '{ print $2 }' | xargs cat It nearly works, but my issue is that I'd like to add a newline after each file. Can this be done in a one liner? (surely I can create a new script or a function that does cat and then echo -n but I was wondering if this could be solved in another way)

  • Preferences bundle -- iPhone vs. Simulator

    I have a preferences bundle that exhibits different behavior in the simulator vs the phone. The basic problem is that the default values of my preferences are getting read fine on the simulator but are coming up NULL on the iPhone.     Using Grails 1.2.2, I'm working on binding a structured property (CC expiration Date) to a java.util.Date but only for specific Domain and Commands objects. I've found the StructuredPropertyEditor interface, but the only way that I've found to register it is to use the PropertyEditorRegistrar and register the editor for the java.util.Date class (much like this example) I don't want all of my dates to use my custom StructuredPropertyEditor. How do I apply the StructuredPropertyEditor selectively to specific targets like certain Command & Domain Classes?

    I'm creating a ASP.NET MVC website and I was wandering which techniques do you guys use to protect primary key on these mvc urls. Actually ASP.NET MVC generates this syntax for its urls: /Controller/Action/Id Last week I was trying to encrypt it using SHA-1 Encryption, but this encrypter generates some special symbols like + (plus), / (slash), and other annoying chars which difficult the decryption. Perhaps creating a custom encryption should solve the problem. But I wanna here from you guys, do you have some ideas to protect mvc urls?

I encountered the following C++ code: String source = String::New("'Hello' + ', World'"); As what I understand so far, this should be a call to static member function 'New' of class 'String'. But, I've searched through the whole header file defining 'String', there is not any static member named 'New' in the String class or its super classes. Is there any special meaning attached to String class or the New member function in C++?

    I know how they work conceptually, but how are signals and slots implemented in the Qt framework? Qt Creator treats them as keywords, but are they simply a set of macros, or is a special pre-processor required before these source files can be compiled? In other words, if I use Qt's signal/slot features in my code, can I easily compile it on any C++ compiler?

  • Prevent command "del /s" from entering a folder

    I need to recursively remove unnecessary files from a svn repository and i have the following batch file to do this: @echo on del /s ~*.* del /s *.~* del /s Thumbs.db However, this is also deleting the entries under the .svn/ subfolders. Is there any way to prevent this commands from being executed under the .svn/ folders so that it doesn't mess things up? Thanks in advance! EDIT: A solution using Bash (cygwin) would also work for me since i just need to do this once.

  • Heroku deployment: connection refused

    I have suddenly run into an issue deploying to Heroku. I created a new app, went to push and now see: ssh: connect to host heroku.com port 22: Connection refused My other previously working Heroku apps no longer work, receiving the same error. Other Heroku commands work (create, info, db:push). I can SSH to other services, so it doesn't look like it's my machine. Any ideas?

Since it's optional, I can either default the maximum to a special value or to the maximum possible integer.
