    Hi, A little help from you all... I was trying to convert a simple java program into jar but nothing seems to happened. I have 2 files: Tester.java , Tester.Class. Then I used this command line: jar -cvf Tester.jar Tester.class The .jar file was created but nothing seems to work. What did I missed? thanks

  • Using low level api for datastore in google app engine ? is it bad ?

    There is little documentation on how to use the low level api for datastore and quite a lot on JPA and JDO and how it translates to it. My question is: is there any advantage in coding against the JPA or JDO specs instead of accessing directly the low level api for datastore ? From an initial look, it seems simple and straight forward but I am not sure if there are good reasons why not to do it. Thanks Cx

    Hi, I have recenlty stumbled into Zend Lucene port of Lucene project. I have a little bit experience with SOLR so I would like to know what is the difference between two of them especially from performance and installation side. As much as I know SOLR requires Tomcat serverlet running in web hosting in order to work, what about Zend Lucene library? I am also a bit confused what means "being implemented on the top of Lucene"?

    I have only little knowledge about LaTeX, basic formatting, basic math fomulae etc.. I found that LaTeX is hard to configure to my own flavor. Recently, I've heard about Docbook, which is also a typesetting mechanism, but much easier since it uses XML. So, if my main job using LaTeX/Docbook is writing a simple document (not a class book) with some mathematics, and I want easy configuration, and a highly constomizable application, which one is better, and is there any good book on Docbook?

I've recently lost the folder structure after a merge operation gone-bad and would like to rename the recovered files according to the metadata. The Rails api explanation makes very little sense to me "Specifies the source association name used by has_many :through queries.     I'm using the Ruby SVN bindings built with SWIG. Here's a little tutorial. When I do this @repository = Svn::Repos.open('/path/to/repository') I can access the repository fine. But when I do this @repository = Svn::Repos.open('svn://localhost/some/path') It fails with /SourceCache/subversion/subversion-35/subversion/subversion/libsvn_subr/io.c:2710: 2: Can't open file 'svn://localhost/format': No such file or directory When I do this from the command line, I do get output svn ls svn://localhost/some/path Any ideas why I can't use the svn:// protocol?
