    I have a web server in my home network and I'm using ZoneEdit for dynamic DNS. It's accessible perfectly to everyone outside of my local network, but since I switched to a Gateway 2Wire DSL modem/router I'm unable to use the domain to access the server from my network. I can access it via a local IP or by putting it in my Windows hosts file but this is annoying to do on every computer and for every subdomain. Any idea how I can fix this? Thanks!

    Per this question I need to call via code the following paths: Windows 2003: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe Windows 2008: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe Ideally I could use the environment variable %localdata%\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe but this does not work for me in Windows 2003. Should it? How can I refer to this path in both systems using environment variables?

  • Can the users can apply Windows update without local administrator rights?

    My users are running on windows XP 32bit. normally WSUS automatically download and notify them to select which update want to install in the past they were in local administrator rights,now I reduce them to user rights so now they can't see the yellow notification said updated are available. Is there a way to give users permission to see the yellow notification and they can select updates by hand without local admin rights or power users? Any advice would be appreciated Thanks

    I need to create a local user with the same name as a domain user under CentOS with Likewise installed. When I use Useradd it says user exists, because a domain user with the same name exists. It is a service account for backup and does not work using a domain account. On machines where the local account was added before likewise was installed it works fine. Is there a way to temporarily disable this check?

  • Converting to and from local and world 3D coordinate spaces?

    Hey guys, I've been following a guide I found here (http://knol.google.com/k/matrices-for-3d-applications-view-transformation) on constructing a matrix that will allow me to 3D coordinates to an object's local coordinate space, and back again. I've tried to implement these two matrices using my object's look, side, up and location vectors and it seems to be working for the first three coordinates. I'm a little confused as to what I should expect for the w coordinate. Here are couple of examples from the print outs I've made of the matricies that are constructed.     I've installed git via the instaler and not with terminal with commands, and my $PATH changed, the path to the 'local' git was added the the end of the variable, and my $PATH changed to this: /usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/git/bin However, that doesnt help me, because i the path to Xcode's git comes first. so what I've done is the next, I added this lines to my '.bash_profile': export PATH="/usr/local/git/bin:$PATH" and now my path is the next: /usr/local/git/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/local/git/bin And I wanted to know how to remove the duplication from the end of the Path so I end up with: /usr/local/git/bin:/usr/bin:/bin:/usr/sbin:/sbin:/usr/local/bin Thanks Ahead!     I've built my path finding system with unreal engine, somehow the path finding part works just fine while i can't find a proper way to solve dynamic obstacles avoidance problem. My characters are walking allover the map and collide with each other while they moving. I try to steering them when collision occurs, but this doesn't work well. For example, two characters block on the road while the third one's path is right in the middle of them and he'll get stuck. Can someone tell me the most popular way of doing dynamic avoidance?   • Local user vs. domain user? What is the right way here?

    I'm a software developer in a company with 6 employees. Everyone has a machine for him-/herself, so none of the machines is shared. I'm currently setting up my machine with Windows 8 and was experimenting a bit with domain and local user accounts. Correct me please if I'm wrong, but I think the idea behind is, that domain users generally should not be able to modify the configuration of a machine (like installing software), since they are able to login on every single machine in the domain. The local user (usually just one local administrator per machine) is the one who cares about the configuration of the machine. But in my case the login into the domain is just for being able to access directories/servers in the domain (I do not really know the details, all I know is, that loggin into the domain user account is necessary). So overall I've got a local admin account and a domain account used on my machine. While working I'm logged in to my domain user account. But it annoys me, that I always need to enter the credentials of my local user account when I'm about to update/install something, which happens quite often as a software developer. I fixed this with adding the domain account into the user accounts in my control panel and putting it into the Administrators group. The only thing I wanted to know about this: is there something REALLY bad about doing this? Or is there maybe a more common way to be able to act like a local admin, while logged in as a domain user? PS: I'm sorry about the tags, but I don't know the proper ones. I'd be glad if some of the superuser experts could fix this :-)

(I have done that with ftp before, but now smb is also needed). When I try to smbclient -L localhost -U [user], I get NT_STATUS_LOGON_FAILURE, except with the administrator (which is the user created during the ubuntu installation, not root). To me that sounds like as long as the provided username/password is a valid login on the server, it should work. Am I missing something totally obvious? I don't want / can't afford to manually update the samba users and passwords to match the server's. 11.10

  • Getting a variable into another class through properties or button tags with Iphone SDK?

    Hello. I have been pounding my head against a wall trying to figure out what I think is a simple thing to do, but I have, so far, been unable to figure it out with the iPhone SDK. I have a view with 4 buttons. When I push the buttons, I have another view called and come up to take over the screen. I want to have a simple variable passed from the old view to the new view. The purpose of this is to know what button was pressed out of the four identical ones. (trying to get an int value of 1 through 4) Here is what I have tried so far: I initially tried to call the variable from the class itself. My understanding was that my new view was only sitting on top of the old view, so it should not have been released. I could not get access to the variable as the variable was said to not be declared. I then tried to create a method that would return the int value. Again, the view class was not seen and was being declared as a "first use" of it. I then attempted to follow another similar post on here that suggested to try and send the button tag number to some part of the new view. I attempted to do this by setting the new views button title but I still cannot figure out a way to code it without coming up with errors. I am just looking for what method would be the best for me to pursue. I have no problem going back and reading the books on Objective-C, but I'm just trying to figure out which way I should concentrate on. Thank you for any insight.

  • How do you set a variable to be an empty, but workable Jquery object?

    Outside of a for I declare a variable using var list;. I use this variable inside of my for loop like so: // add the html to the list if (list == undefined) list = item; else list.append(item.contents()); item is a cloned jquery object build from a $('list_template').clone(); call (list_template is a div with <li> elements inside). What I am doing is creating a list, which I will then appendTo() where I need it. Right now this code works fine, but it doesn't seem right to me. Unfortunatly, I cannot seem to figure out how to correctly declare the list variable to be an empty Jquery object. I have tried both: var list = $([]); var list = $(''); Both of those cause the append to not work correctly (or as expected) with list.html() being null. Is there a way to initialize my variable to an empty jquery object, so all I have to do is list.append(item.contents()); without the if/else statements?

    Is there any way to create a variable, and add an ID to the end of the actual variable name? I have a variable called 'gauge', used to create a new Gauge object: var gauge = new Gauge(target).setOptions(opts); I want to add an ID to the variable, so something like: var gauge+id = new Gauge(target).setOptions(opts); It's because I'm creating a number of these objects, and have a specific ID already for each one, which I want to attach to the gauge object if possible? All my code for this function is below, if it gives you a better idea of what i need to do: function go(id, votes) { var val = $('#votes_'+id).text(); var target = document.getElementById('foo_'+id); // your canvas element var gauge = new Gauge(target).setOptions(opts); // create sexy gauge! gauge.maxValue = 100; // set max gauge value gauge.animationSpeed = 20; // set animation speed (32 is default value) var a=votes+0.5; gauge.set(val); // set actual value } My main problem arises on the last line. It says gauge.set(val), and it only sets the last object, ignoring all the other ones...

  • Objective-C Result from a Static Method saved to class instance variable giving "EXC_BAD_ACCESS" when used.

    I am trying to store the md5 string as a class instance variable instead of the actual password. I have a static function that will return a md5 string which I'm trying to store in an instance variable instead of the actual password. I have the following setter for my class instance variable: -(void)setPassword:(NSString *)newpass{ if(newpass != password){ password = [utils md5HexDigest:newpass]; } } This will pass back the correct md5 string and save it to the password variable in my init function: [self setPassword:pword];. If I call another instance method and try to access self.password" I will get "EXC_BAD_ACCESS". I understand that the memory is getting released, but I have no clue to make sure it stays. I have tried alloc init with autorelease with no luck. This is the md5HexDigest function getting called during the init (graciously found in another stackoverflow question): + (NSString*)md5HexDigest:(NSString*)input { const char* str = [input UTF8String]; unsigned char result[CC_MD5_DIGEST_LENGTH]; CC_MD5(str, strlen(str), result); NSMutableString *ret = [NSMutableString stringWithCapacity:CC_MD5_DIGEST_LENGTH*2]; for(int i = 0; i<CC_MD5_DIGEST_LENGTH; i++) { [ret appendFormat:@"%02x",result[i]]; } return ret; } Any help/pointers would be greatly appreciated.
