    Please help me how to install MySQL on Windows 7. When I tried to install, I am getting errors as: The security settings could not be applied to the database because the connection has failed of the following errors ERROR NR:1045 Access denied for user 'root@'localhost(using password yes). I tried to uninstall MySQL completely and install again, but it shows this error again and again. I have changed my firewall setting also and tried unstalling antivirus sotware too. But it also did not work.

  • master-slave-slave replication: master will become bottleneck for writes

    hi, the mysql database has arround 2TB of data. i have a master-slave-slave replication running. the application that uses the database does read (SELECT) queries just on one of the 2 slaves and write (DELETE/INSERT/UPDATE) queries on the master. the application does way more reads, than writes. if we have a problem with the read (SELECT) queries, we can just add another slave database and tell the application, that there is another salve. so it scales well... Currently, the master is running arround 40% disk io due to the writes. So i'm thinking about how to scale the the database in the future. Because one day the master will be overloaded. What could be a solution there? maybe mysql cluster? if so, are there any pitfalls or limitations in switching the database to ndb? thanks a lot in advance... :)

There was a microsecond patch to allow mysql to be configured to log queries that take longer than X microseconds to run. But is there a way to have the log output the query time in either milliseconds or microseconds?

    Does mysql replication supports delayed sync if remote slave server is OFF? For example I want to make my developing server have a fresh copy of databases each morning. It should be partial sync, not full copy of databases each morning. And synchronization should be only ONE way, not duplex, to avoid deleting something of master server.     I am trying to setup a MySQL server and when I went to create a second user it wouldn't give it permissions for the database. I can connect fine as long as I don't specify a database. Access denied for user 'user'@'localhost' to database 'diddata' The connection details are: { 'host' : 'localhost', 'user' : 'user', 'password' : 'password' , 'database': 'diddata' }; And to create the DB and table I did: CREATE DATABASE IF NOT exists diddata; CREATE USER 'user'@'localhost' IDENTIFIED BY 'password'; GRANT ALL ON user.* TO 'user'@'localhost'; Note that I've changed the username and password in this question. I've already checked the privileges in MySQL workbench and they are there.
