But after thinking about it for a while I didn't find a way I can use beyond-trivial math in my pet projects.. Or probably it is a moment like "You are not aware that you are not aware" and I should learn more math before I can start to see great examples of how I can apply it?

    I want to change the standard "3D" look of the standard asp.net checkbox to say solid 1px. If I try to apply the styling to the Border for example it does just that - draws the standard checkbox with a border around it - which is valid I guess. Anyway, is there a way to change how the actual textbox is styled?

  • What free tools or strategies can help debug a multi-threading corruption bug?

    I have a client server application with multi-threading. The server side is failing with a std::list getting corrupted resulting in a SEGV. I suspect that there is some kind of cross thread timing issue going on where the two threads are updating the std::list at the same time and causing it to be corrupted. Please suggest free tools to track this down or strategies that might be helpful.

  • Rails creating a new session every page view

    Hi everyone, I'm following the Agile RoR book somewhat to apply it to a project for school. It's going good until I get to sessions. I continually get Authenticity Invalid Tokens and when I look at my sessions table in the database, there's a new session being created every time I refresh the page. Is that right or is something messed up? Thanks.

  • Adding jQueryui Buttons to dynamically added content

    I have a list of items that have some jQueryUI buttons associated with them. After an action (deleting an item) I want to reload the list via ajax. Only problem is when I do so the JQueryUI buttons no longer show, just the standard markup. I know I can use jQuery.live() for dynamically adding click handlers etc, but how do I apply a jQueryUI button() to them?

  • Switch statements: do you need the last break? (Javascript mainly)

    When using a switch() statement, you add break; in between separate case: declarations. But what about the last one? Normally I just leave it off, but I'm wondering if this has some performance implication I'm not thinking about? I've been wondering about this for a while and don't see it asked elsewhere on Stack-O, but sorry if I missed it. I'm mainly asking this question regarding Javascript, although I'm guessing the answer will apply to all switch() statements.

GL games typically have custom buttons, custom lists, etc. Take the Quake player list for example, if ported, it wouldnt be a typical UI list object. Does this mean the reviewer in question would reject anything that wasn't using standard UI? Or, is there an exception for games.

  • Parameters not being passed into template when using the .Net transform classes

    I am using the .Net XslCompiledTranform to run some simple XSLT (see below for a simplified example). The example XSLT is meant to do simply show the value of the parameter that is passed in to the template. The output is what I expect it to be (i.e. <result xmlns:p1="http://www.doesnotexist.com"> <valueOfParamA>valueA</valueOfParamA> </result> when I use Saxon 9.0, but when I use XslCompiledTransform (XslTransform) in .net I get <result xmlns:p1="http://www.doesnotexist.com"> <valueOfParamA></valueOfParamA> </result> The problem is that that the parameter value of paramA is not being passed into the template when I use the .Net classes. I completely stumped as to why. when I step through in Visual Studio, the debugger says that the template will be called with paramA='valueA' but when execution switches to the template the value of paramA is blank. Can anyone explain why this is happening? Is this a bug in the MS implementation or (more likely) am I doing something that is forbidden in XSLT? Any help greatly appreciated. Can anyone help please??

  • How can I link to a specific glibc version

    When I compile something on my Ubuntu Lucid 10.04 PC it gets linked against glibc. Lucid uses 2.11 of glibc. When I run this binary on another PC with an older glibc, the command fails saying there's no glibc 2.11... As far as I know glibc uses symbol versioning. Can I force gcc to link against a specific symbol version? In my concret use I try to compile a gcc cross toolchain for ARM.
