  My DataSource is a DataTable populated from file system data in Page_Load. There is no database. How can I remove rows from the DataTable and rebind? I thought this had to be done in the GridView_RowCommand "Delete" section... if(e.CommandName == "Delete") ... • Optimal way to generate list of PHP object properties with delimiter character, implode()?

  I am trying to find out if there is a more optimal way for creating a list of an object's sub object's properties. (Apologies for the crude wording, I am not really much of an OO expert) I have an object "event" that has a collection of "artists", each artist having an "artist_name". On my HTML output, I want a plain list of artist names delimited by a comma. PHP's implode() seems to be the best way to create a comma delimited list of values. I am currently iterating through the object and push values in a temporary array "artistlist" so I can use implode(). That is the shortest I could come up with. Is there a way to do this more elegant? $artistlist = array(); foreach ($event->artists as $artist) { $artistlist[] = $artist->artist_name; } echo implode(', ', $artistlist);

  Hi, I am probably totally missing the point here but.... How can I pass a 'var' into another method? (I am using linq to load XML into an Enumerable list of objects). I have differernt object types (with different fields), but the final step of my process is the same regardless of which object is being used. But I then want to iterate though the code to check for various issues: foreach (var w in result2) { if (w.CheckIT()) { //do something } } What I would love is the final step to be in a method in the base class, and I can pass the 'var' varible into it from each child class.

• Programming issue while applying text to the third party control.

  Hello I have used some third party controls in my windows application. There is a snippet which is being used in our code which re-initializes all the .text property of all the controls on the form. Everything works fine except for a control. This control is similar to the Windows Panel except for it has a dropdown appearance. This control has .Caption property instead of .Text property associated to it. This causes the problem whenever i use such codes foreach (Control oControl in this.Controls) { if (oControl is DropDownPanel) { { oControl.Text = rm_ResourceManager.GetString(oControl.Name + ".Text"); } } } The text is not set here for the DropDownPanel control in the above method. Since .Text is not available for DropDownPanel control. I cannot do the following either .. ((DropDownPanel)oControl).Caption = rm_ResourceManager.GetString(oControl.Name + ".Text"); Cos it shall throw exception if i try to cast oControl with that of DropDownPanel Any ideas how can i overcome such a condition.   I got to populate FactTable with 12 lookups to dimension table to get SK's, of which 6 are to different Dim Tables and rest 6 are lookup to same DimTable (type II) doing lookup to same natural key. Is there a better way to this.

I'd love to have a list of Widgest and be able to call a function right on the collection that did something like this. Assume (since it's F#) that the function would not be changing the state of the collection that it's attached to, but returning some new value.

• How to access fields in JSON object by index

  I know this isn't the best way to do it, but I have no other choice :( I have to access the items in JSONObject by their index. The standard way to access objects is to just wirte this[objectName] or this.objectName. I also found a method to get all the fields inside a json object: (for (var key in p) { if (p.hasOwnProperty(key)) { alert(key + " -> " + p[key]); } } (Soruce : Loop through Json object). However there is no way of accessing the JSONfields directly by a index. The only way I see right now, is to create an array, with the function above, get the fieldname by index and then get the value by fieldname. As far as I see it, the p (in our case the JSON file must be an iteratable array to, or else the foreach loop wouldn't work. How can I access this array directly? Or is it some kind of unsorted list? • NHibernate parent-childs save redundant sql update executed

  I'm trying to save (insert) parent object with a collection of child objects, all objects are new. I prefer to manually specify what to save\update and when so I do not use any cascade saves in mappings and flush sessions by myself. So basically I save this object graph like: session.Save(Parent) foreach (var child in Parent.Childs) { session.Save(child); } session.Flush() I expect this code to insert Parent row, then each child row, however NHibernate executes this SQL: INSERT INTO PARENT.... INSERT INTO CHILD .... UPDATE CHILD SET ParentId=@1 WHERE Id=@2 This update statement is absolutely unnecessary, ParentId was already set correctly in INSERT. How do I get rid of it? Performance is very important for me.

I even tried with but with no luck. I am using C#3.0. Need help

Why? (i imagine it has something to do with the fact that a linq query is lazy, but the fact of looping through the result isn't enough??)
