  • Does Java Spring 3.0 MVC support annotation/attribute based client side validation like Asp.net MVC

    - by Athens
In Asp.Net MVC 2.0, at least in the beta, you could decoration your model classes with data annotation attributes and enable client side validation that leverages that criteria defined in your model data annotation attibutes. Is there anything similar for Java Spring MVC 3.0? Is it possible to inject a component into the response pipeline that can inspect the model's annotated properties and render client side validation logic to complement the server side validation logic that is invoked prior to the controller handling the request?

  • Inspiring web experiments and technical demos

    - by serg555
Probably everyone knows about Chrome Experiments: http://www.chromeexperiments.com/ that contain some stunning examples of what JS is capable of. It would be nice to compile a collection of similar projects (usually just blog posts) that showcase some original JS/CSS/HTML/Flash or any other web-related ideas and solutions.

  • In XMLHttpRequest, where is error flag variable?

    - by Tiangolo
In the XMLHttpRequest Spec it says that: The DONE state has an associated error flag that indicates some type of network error or abortion. It can be either true or false and has an initial value of false. Also says something similar about a "send() flag" in an "OPENED" state. It's said in the specification but not in the IDL and when I create a new XMLHttpRequest I can't find those "flags". Where are those boolean variables?

  • Silverlight Marching Ants Image Selection

    - by Ben Herila
(Silverlight 3) Is there a pre-existing (preferably free, even better if open source) method (either a control or source code) for dragging a "marching ants" style selection on an image in a ScrollViewer or on a Canvas, similar to how it's done in image editing software? Even better if the resulting selection box has adjustment handles.

Tag_Intersect_Table Tag_ID | Article_ID Is it possible query an article and all of its associated tags in one database call? If so, how is this done?

  • Sharing assemblies between .Net 4 and Silverlight 4

    - by chris
At the last PDC (can't remember which talk it was) they gave us the information that it will be possible to share assemblies between regular .Net 4 and Silverlight 4. Unfortunately I can't find anything on this. Was this feature dropped? What options/limitations are there? (There are similar questions on SO but they don't say if they apply to SL3 or 4.)

  • Generate documents thumbnails (PDF, Word, Spreadsheets, etc.) from within PHP

    - by titel
Hello guys, I was wondering if there is there is a way to create thumbnails for different types of documents, for instance PDF documents, Word Documents, Spreadsheets, etc, not only for the images, from within PHP? If this would be to hard to accomplish, I would also be interested in a way to achieve something similar only for PDF documents instead. Thank you in advance, Constantin TOVISI

    - by Reflog
Hello. I'm looking for some stand alone library to access NFS shares. I am not looking for mounting the shares, just browsing and accessing the files for reading. Preferable something with a simple simple API similar to regular POSIX operations of opendir, scandir, read and etc. Thanks in advance!

  • How to specify the order of XmlAttributes, using XmlSerializer

    - by demoncodemonkey
XmlElement has an "Order" attribute which you can use to specify the precise order of your properties (in relation to each other anyway) when serializing using XmlSerializer. Is there a similar thing for XmlAttribute? I just want to set the order of the attributes from something like <MyType end="bob" start="joe" /> to <MyType start="joe" end="bob" /> This is just for readability, my own benefit really.

  • Nested Model binding in ASP.NET MVC2. fields_for from rails equivalent

    - by dagda1
Hi, I am looking for some examples of how to do model binding in ASP.NET MVC2 for COMPLEX objects. All the exmples I can find are of simple objects with no child collections or child objects. If I have an Expense object with a child ExpensePayment object. In rails, child objects are rendered with the HTML name attributes like this: expense[expense_payment][net] Rails uses fields_for to render child objects. How can I accomplish something similar in ASP.NET MVC2? Cheers Paul

  • scala currying by nested functions or by multiple parameter lists

    - by Morgan Creighton
In Scala, I can define a function with two parameter lists. def myAdd(x :Int)(y :Int) = x + y This makes it easy to define a partially applied function. val plusFive = myAdd(5) _ But, I can accomplish something similar by defining and returning a nested function. def myOtherAdd(x :Int) = { def f(y :Int) = x + y f _ } Cosmetically, I've moved the underscore, but this still feels like currying. val otherPlusFive = myOtherAdd(5) What criteria should I use to prefer one approach over the other?

Majority query on this table - searching documents similar to current document: select 10 documents with maximum of (count common to current document value)/(count ov values in document). Nowadays we use PostgreSQL. Table weight (with index) ~1,5 GB. Average query time ~0.5s. Should I transfer all this to NoSQL base, if so, what?

  • Is it possible to attach a debugging session to a running program in eclipse CDT

    - by stu
I'm writing a netscape iplanet plugin (on solaris/C using eclipse) which is basically a shared object with specific entry points, and I'd like to be able to debug the shared object with eclipse's debugger (gdb). I remember doing something similar in AIX where you could make xldb attach to a running process. Is it possible to get eclipse to run gdb to attach to a running binary? And should I expect grief because I want to debug a dynamically loaded piece of code?
