• Using a php://memory wrapper causes errors...

  I'm trying to extend the PHP mailer class from Worx by adding a method which allows me to add attachments using string data rather than path to the file. I came up with something like this: public function addAttachmentString($string, $name='', $encoding = 'base64', $type = 'application/octet-stream') { $path = 'php://memory/' . md5(microtime()); $file = fopen($path, 'w'); fwrite($file, $string); fclose($file); $this->AddAttachment($path, $name, $encoding, $type); } However, all I get is a PHP warning: PHP Warning: fopen() [<a href='function.fopen'>function.fopen</a>]: Invalid php:// URL specified There aren't any decent examples with the original documentation, but I've found a couple around the internet (including one here on SO), and my usage appears correct according to them. Has anyone had any success with using this? My alternative is to create a temporary file and clean up - but that will mean having to write to disc, and this function will be used as part of a large batch process and I want to avoid slow disc operations (old server) where possible. This is only a short file but has different information for each person the script emails.

• Why do my raytraced spheres have dark lines when lit with multiple light sources?

  I have a simple raytracer that only works back up to the first intersection. The scene looks OK with two different light sources, but when both lights are in the scene, there are dark shadows where the lit area from one ends, even if in the middle of a lit area from the other light source (particularly noticeable on the green ball). The transition from the 'area lit by both light sources' to the 'area lit by just one light source' seems to be slightly darker than the 'area lit by just one light source'.   I have to submit subscription data to another website. I have got documentation on how to use this API however i'm not 100% sure of how to set this up.   Hi folks I have a problem first of all look at my web service method : [WebMethod(), ScriptMethod(ResponseFormat = ResponseFormat.Json)] public string GetPageContent(string VirtualPath) { WebClient client = new WebClient(); string content=string.Empty; client.Encoding = System.Text.Encoding.UTF8; try { if (VirtualPath.IndexOf("______") > 0) content = client.DownloadString(HttpContext.Current.Request.UrlReferrer.AbsoluteUri.Replace("Main.aspx", VirtualPath.Replace("__", "."))); else content = client.DownloadString(HttpContext.Current.Request.UrlReferrer.AbsoluteUri.Replace("Main.aspx", VirtualPath)); } catch { content = "Not Found"; } return content; } As you can see my web service method read and buffer page from it's localhost it works and I use it to add some ajax functionality to my web site it works fine but my problem is Client.DownloadString(..) lost all session because my sessions are all null which are related to this page for more description. at page-load in the page which I want to load from my web service I set session : HttpContext.Current.Session[E_ShopData.Constants.SessionKey_ItemList] = result; but when I click a button in the page this session is null I mean it can't transfer session.   Here is a tricky situation, and i wonder what ways there are to solve it namespace { template <class T> struct Template { /* ... */ }; } typedef Template<int> Template; Sadly, the Template typedef interferes with the Template template in the unnamed namespace. When you try to do Template<float> in the global scope, the compiler raises an ambiguity error between the template name and the typedef name. You don't have control over either the template name or the typedef-name. Now I want to know whether it is possible to: Create an object of the typedefed type Template (i.e Template<int>) in the global namespace. Create an object of the type Template<float> in the global namespace. You are not allowed to add anything to the unnamed namespace. Everything should be done in the global namespace. This is out of curiosity because i was wondering what tricks there are for solving such an ambiguity. It's not a practical problem i hit during daily programming.

  Greetings, Current, I'm attempting to develop an application that takes a Byte Array that is streamed to us from a Linux C language program across a TCPClient (stream) and reassemble it back into an image/jpg. The "sending" application was developed by a off-site developer who claims that the image reassembles back into an image without any problems or errors in his test environment (all Linux)... However, we are not so fortunate. I (believe) we successfully get all of the data sent, storing it as a string (lets us append the stream until it is complete) and then we convert it back into a Byte[]. This appears to be working fine... But, when we take the byte[] we get from the streaming (and our string assembly) and try to convert it into an image using the System.Drawing.Image.FromStream() we get errors.... Anyone have any idea what we're doing wrong? Or, does anyone know if this is a cross-platform issue? We're developing our app for Windows XP and C# .net, but the off-site developer did his work in c and Linux... perhaps there's some difference as to how each Operating System Coverts Images into Byte Arrays? Anyway, here's the code for converting our received ByteArray (from the TCPClient Stream) into an image. This code works when we send an image from a test machine we built that RUNS on XP, but not from the Linux box... • Image appearing in the wrong place.

  I have a list that I want to precede on each line with a small image. On the first line, the text "Send a new message" has the preceeding image. However, each line afterwards has the image at the end. So "Send a new message" has an image at the start and finish. It is like the images are staying at the end of the previous line. Any ideas?

As I understand it everything is stored as a pointer so I did try adding an additional constructor that took a pointer to foo but to no avail.

  I am having a problem with Paypal IPN response. After payment is made by the customer, paypal ipn returns this url www.mywebsite.com?orderid=32&tx=2AC67201DL3533325&st=Pending&amt=2.50&cc=USD&cm=&item_number=32 There are a couple of issues 1- Postback field names are undefined or missing. Thus I can get the INVALID message. I am not sure if my website does not read POST variables. When I looked at IPN history, it shows that each IPN has been sent with the complete url. 2- Payment status keeps coming Pending. Does this issue cause the first issue?   Hello, I would like to know if somebody knows a library to changing the playback rate of a track in real time. My idea is to load a track and change its playback rate to half or double. Firstly, I tried with MusicPlayer but is was not possible at all and then I tried with SoundPool. The problem is that with SoundPool I can´t change the rate once the track is loaded. • How to maintain an ordered table with Core Data (or SQL) with insertions/deletions?

  This question is in the context of Core Data, but if I am not mistaken, it applies equally well to a more general SQL case. I want to maintain an ordered table using Core Data, with the possibility for the user to: reorder rows insert new lines anywhere delete any existing line What's the best data model to do that? I can see two ways: 1) Model it as an array: I add an int position property to my entity 2) Model it as a linked list: I add two one-to-one relations, next and previous from my entity to itself 1) makes it easy to sort, but painful to insert or delete as you then have to update the position of all objects that come after 2) makes it easy to insert or delete, but very difficult to sort. In fact, I don't think I know how to express a Sort Descriptor (SQL ORDER BY clause) for that case. Now I can imagine a variation on 1): 3) add an int ordering property to the entity, but instead of having it count one-by-one, have it count 100 by 100 (for example). Then inserting is as simple as finding any number between the ordering of the previous and next existing objects. The expensive renumbering only has to occur when the 100 holes have been filled. Making that property a float rather than an int makes it even better: it's almost always possible to find a new float midway between two floats. Am I on the right track with solution 3), or is there something smarter?

  I'm trying to create a small html fragment (a div element) consisted of three parts: a label, textbox, and a button. Within that div element the label would be on the left (autosized), the button would be on the right (again, autosized) and the textbox should take up all remaining space within the parent div element. This is what I've tried (assuming I want my div to be 400 pixels wide): <div style="width:400px"> <div style="float: left">Label</div> <input style="width:100%"> <!-- doesn't work --> <button type='button' style='float: right'>Click</button> </div> The trouble is, my textbox does not get resized automatically.   I Have a three column layout. The center div is a container which holds all of my content. The outer columns is just a .png that fades into the body's background (left and right respectively). I want the .png to repeat-y to grow with the center container's content. It will only print the image once, and ignores the repeat-y. If I specify a height to the outside columns, it will print, but only to the specified height. I tried height: 100%, which does not work.   I've got my computer set up in Japanese (hey, it's good language practice), and everything is all fine and dandy... except javac. It displays localized error messages out to the console, but they're in Shift-JIS, not UTF8: $ javac this-file-doesnt-exist.java javac: ?t?@?C??????????????: this-file-doesnt-exist.java ?g????: javac <options> <source files> ?g?p?\??I?v?V?????~??X?g?????A-help ???g?p???? If I pipe the output through nkf -w, it's readable, but that's not really much of a solution: $ javac this-file-doesnt-exist.java 2>&1 | nkf -w javac: ????????????: this-file-doesnt-exist.java ???: javac <options> <source files> ????????????????????-help ?????? Everything else works fine (with UTF8) from the command-line; I can type filenames in Japanese, tab-completion works fine, vi can edit UTF-8 files, etc. Although java itself spits out all its messages in English (which is fine). Here's the relevant bits of my environment: LC_CTYPE=UTF-8 LANG=ja_JP.UTF-8 From what it looks like, javac isn't picking up the encoding properly, and java isn't picking up the language at all. I've tried -Dfile.encoding=utf8 as well, but that does nada, and documentation on the localization of the JVM toolchain is pretty nonexistent, at least from Google.
