  I'm preparing a short talk for a conference in august and I'm looking for open source projects that are using agile methods internally or have tried them in the past. My goal is to talk about the things that work well and what won't work and promote the agile methods a little bit, because I think certain agile techniques are a good fit, but don't seem to be that common in real development. So does anyone know projects that have tried agile methods and techniques before? I'd like to contact them for a few questions.

• Using low level api for datastore in google app engine ? is it bad ?

  There is little documentation on how to use the low level api for datastore and quite a lot on JPA and JDO and how it translates to it. My question is: is there any advantage in coding against the JPA or JDO specs instead of accessing directly the low level api for datastore ?   Seems like it would be better if you did commit followed by merge. I'm a little surprised update'ing is even allowed when your working copy has changes. Is this to avoid having commits that have two parents, which result from a merge?

  Hi, A little help from you all... I was trying to convert a simple java program into jar but nothing seems to happened. I have 2 files: Tester.java , Tester.Class. Then I used this command line: jar -cvf Tester.jar Tester.class The .jar file was created but nothing seems to work. What did I missed? thanks

  Hi, I have recenlty stumbled into Zend Lucene port of Lucene project. I have a little bit experience with SOLR so I would like to know what is the difference between two of them especially from performance and installation side. As much as I know SOLR requires Tomcat serverlet running in web hosting in order to work, what about Zend Lucene library? I am also a bit confused what means "being implemented on the top of Lucene"?

  I have only little knowledge about LaTeX, basic formatting, basic math fomulae etc.. I found that LaTeX is hard to configure to my own flavor. Recently, I've heard about Docbook, which is also a typesetting mechanism, but much easier since it uses XML. So, if my main job using LaTeX/Docbook is writing a simple document (not a class book) with some mathematics, and I want easy configuration, and a highly constomizable application, which one is better, and is there any good book on Docbook?

  I was wondering if anyone new how to get access the metadata (the date in particular) from jpg, arw and dng files. I've recently lost the folder structure after a merge operation gone-bad and would like to rename the recovered files according to the metadata. • Why must I use local path rather than 'svn://' with SVN bindings?

  I'm using the Ruby SVN bindings built with SWIG. Here's a little tutorial. When I do this @repository = Svn::Repos.open('/path/to/repository') I can access the repository fine. But when I do this @repository = Svn::Repos.open('svn://localhost/some/path') It fails with /SourceCache/subversion/subversion-35/subversion/subversion/libsvn_subr/io.c:2710: 2: Can't open file 'svn://localhost/format': No such file or directory When I do this from the command line, I do get output svn ls svn://localhost/some/path Any ideas why I can't use the svn:// protocol?
