  • Programmatically generate video or animated GIF in Python?

    I have a series of images that I want to create a video from. Ideally I could specify a frame duration for each frame but a fixed frame rate would be fine too. I'm doing this in wxPython, so I can render to a wxDC or I can save the images to files, like PNG. Is there a Python library that will allow me to create either a video (AVI, MPG, etc) or an animated GIF from these frames? Edit: I've already tried PIL and it doesn't seem to work. Can someone correct me with this conclusion or suggest another toolkit?     Is there a way to use modules that were imported in a local session in a remote session? I looked at import-pssession, but I don't know how to get the local session. Here's a sample of what I want to do. import-module .\MyModule\MyModule.ps1 $session = new-pssession -computerName RemoteComputer invoke-command -session $session -scriptblock { Use-CmdletFromMyModule } Also, I do not want to import-module in the remote session, as the ps1 files are not on that server.

    I'd like to write a service that periodically checks a POP3 account for new messages and based on custom business logic forwards the messages to an appropriate "To", and possibly changes the "From" as well. I might need to keep some messages on the server until certain conditions are ready for them to be forwarded.     My sample file is like below: H343423 Something1 Something2 C343423 0 A23423432 asdfasdf sdfs #2342323 I have the following regex: if (line =~ /^[HC]\d+\s/) != nil puts line end Basically I want to read everything that starts with H or C and is followed by numbers and I want to stop reading when space is encountered (I want to read one word). Output I want is: H343423 C343423 Output my RegEx is getting is: H343423 Something1 Something2 C343423 0 So it is fetching the whole line but I just want it to stop after first word is read. Any help?

    I thought using colons in URIs was "illegal". Then I saw that vimeo.com is using URIs like http://www.vimeo.com/tag:sample. What do you feel about the usage of colons in URIs? How do I make my Apache server work with the "colon" syntax because now it's throwing the "Access forbidden!" error when there is a colon in the first segment of the URI?

    I have a complex project using SilverLight Toolkit's ListBoxDragDropTarget for drag-drop operations and it is maxing CPU. I tried to reproduce the issue in a small sample project, but then it works fine. The problem persists when I remove our custom styles and all other controls from the page, but the page is hosted in another page's ScrollView. "EnableRedrawRegions" shows that the screen gets redrawn on every frame. My question is this: How can I track down the cause of this constant redrawing?

    I'm having a rather strange problem with zsh. When I start up my shell, everything - functions, environment vars, aliases, etc. - all work fine. I've created the following function and sourced it in zsh: clean() { for i in /tmp/* do echo $i done } Running clean in the terminal works as expected, in that it prints out all the files in /tmp/. Afterward, however, trying any command - for example, ls - produces this: zsh: command not found: ls I have several other functions that work just fine, which leads me to believe that somehow, that loop is causing the problem. At any rate, this is very frustrating and I would sincerely appreciate the community's eyes. Thanks!

    This seems to have been asked before: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1402547/rails-decimal-precision-and-scale But when running a change_column migration for :precision or :scale they don't actually affect the schema or database, but db:migrate runs without errors. My migration file looks like this: class ChangePrecisionAndScaleOfPaybackPeriodInTags < ActiveRecord::Migration def self.up change_column :tags, :payback_period, :decimal, { :scale => 3, :precision => 10 } end def self.down change_column :tags, :payback_period, :decimal end end But my schema (and the data) remains as: t.decimal "rate" # previous column t.decimal "payback_period" t.string "component_type" # next column Anybody else have this issue?   • Gray border when using NSBorderlessWindowMask

    Hello, Whenever I try to create a custom window using NSBorderlessWindowMask and set an NSView (for example an NSImageView) as its contentView, I get a 1px gray border around the NSView and I don't seem to be able to get rid of it. I have followed several approaches including Apple's RoundTransparentWindow sample code as well as several suggestions on StackOverflow. I suspect the gray border is either coming from the window itself or the NSView. Have any of you experienced this problem or do you have a possible solution? Thanks
