    How can I switch off logging for BeanUtils.copyProperties ? It creates way too much logs and hampers the log file readability. Thanks heaps..     i have designed an er model and then normalized it till the BCNF and converted it into tables using vs08. my problem is i do not know from where to get the normalized database checked to see if it has no mistakes in normalization- can not be further normalized. please do not give answers such as- ask a friend- ask your professor- do not have these resources available- it is very very hard and really time consuming waiting for the relevant person to be available. so are there any sites from where i can ask help from other designers- people like you to check the normalized database? please note:- it should be free, sorry for accept rate, was not aware of accepting the answers, all the help is appreciated thank you

  • realistically speaking, could a seasoned .net developer enter the java space and land a job?

    I've been working with .net since 2001, and I am considering making a move into the java space. I find that java has so many more mature tools (hibernate is more mature, spring framework, established patters/designs, containers, distributed cache frameworks, etc etc.) I have been doing .net, and just recently I have been getting into design patterns, ORMS, etc. and it just seems the .net side of things are not as mature. Yes the trend going forward looks great as more and more are getting into this design strategy etc. I don't want this to get into a flame war, but I read that its not about the framework/stack, but the tools around it are what make the difference. And to me Java seems to be the winner. Anyhow, the real question here is, could I realistically get into shape in 6 months? i.e. Someone would consider hiring me, and not at a junior dev pay rate? Is this a bad idea?

  • Using Selenium, how can I test a web UI that returns XML instead of HTML?

    I'm using Selenium to unit test my Perl cgi script and all works fine except in one case where my cgi script returns XML content to the web browser instead of returning HTML content. I'm new to Selenium and only pasted in their sample script to get started, but I can't seem to find a Selenium command in any of the documentation that will recognize that my XML response has been returned. The Selenium commands seem to assume that an HTML page is always being returned.

  • magento - multiple tax rates

    I've built a magento site for a Canadian company where each state has a Retail sales tax and a federal tax rate and these rates differ! So, I set up the rates, and the Tax is being calculated correctly, ie the sum of the two tax rates is being calculated correctly. however on selecting the breakdown of tax mode in the admin panel, it would appear that there is something wrong with my setup. Eg. Subtotal $129.99 GST/HST Quebec (5%) $ 16.25 Provincial Sales Tax Quebec (7.5%) Tax $ 16.25 Grand Total $158.23 16.25 is 12% of $129.99 so the tax figure is correct. However it should be displaying as follows: Subtotal $129.99 GST/HST Quebec (5%) $ 6.50 Provincial Sales Tax Quebec (7.5%) $ 9.75 Tax $ 16.25 Grand Total $158.23 Anyone come across this before?
