  • Need to tab out of ActiveX control in browser

    When tabbing through controls in an ActiveX control hosted in IE, once I get to the last control the tab key no longer does anything. I would like it to move the focus outside the ActiveX control to the next html control. This works fine when the ActiveX control is hosted in a WinForms app, does anybody know how to make this work in the browser? It may also be relevant that the ActiveX control is a simple wrapper around a WPF control.

  • Apache is reponding a blank white page

    I have the following situation: A site hosted in apache 2.4, with ssl, that works like a charm for a while now, but out of no where, without modifications to the site, apache started serving random blank pages. The workaround this is to delete the cookies of the browser or restart the browser. I've switched the vitualhost to log in debug mode but it didn't got me anywhere.     Routers A, B & C live at 10.1.1.1, 10.1.1.2 and 10.1.1.3 on a /24 metro Ethernet subnet. Each router also has its own private subnet on another interface. Router B's private subnet links thru a firewall to a 10.20.20.0 network at another organization. Router B redistributes to A and C several static routes for hosts on 10.20.20.0. However, a new host 10.20.20.5/32 must be reached via a different path that goes through router C. I know that C can advertise this host-based route with no problem, but I'd like to keep all my 10.20.20.x static routes in one place. So, how can B tell A via RIPv2 to send packets for 10.20.20.5/32 to C? So far it looks like I need no ip split-horizon on router B's 10.1.1.2 interface, perhaps because B has already learned from C other routes with a next hop of 10.1.1.3. But how does RIPv2 split horizon with no auto-summary and network 10.0.0.0 really work? If B learns a route to ANY 10.x.x.x network or host from A or C, is that enough for split horizon to keep it from redistributing ip route 10.20.20.5 255.255.255.255 10.1.1.3? And if I want to suspend split horizon only for this one new host, how do I filter out the mess of regurgitated routes that B advertises when I try no ip split-horizon? Thanks much.

    I am trying to configure a replica set with three nodes: node A, B and C. I execute the rs.add()'s from node A and after that rs.status() shows that the three nodes are PRIMARY. Moreover node B and C have 0 pingMs. If I execute rs.status() from node B or C the only node listed is the self (As PRIMARY). I tried adding an arbiter but it didn't work (it behaved as the nodes B and C). I think this can be a networking problem but I can't figure it out.   • Route through site-to-site VPN not working

    I'm trying to set up a site-to-site VPN using RRAS on two 2K8r2 servers since yesterday. The connection is working at this point, but I can't get it to send traffic from one site to the other one. Set up: the set up is the same on both sites: the server is connected to a router that's connected to a modem. The routers act like a DHCP-server and assign IP addresses from the range subnet.21-subnet-.100. Both servers use a static IP address, subnet.11, and are set up as DMZ. Configuration: the servers are configured using the wizard to set up a site-to-site connection. This works with a demand-dial interface and a PPTP VPN connection. As mentioned, the VPN connection work properly. Problem: I can't get the servers to send the traffic for the other site, to be sent through the VPN connection. I added a static route on both server (home, office 1) and I can see the result in the IP routing table (home, office 1). I did this because the route didn't show up automatically. My guess is that this last step isn't right, for example because the routing table states "non demand-dial", which seems not correct. Home: Subnet: 10.0.1.0/24 Router: 10.0.1.1 Server: 10.0.1.11 (DMZ) DHCP: 10.0.1.21-10.0.1.100 RRAS DHCP: 10.0.1.101-10.0.1.150 Office 1: Subnet: 10.0.2.0/24 Router: 10.0.2.1 Server: 10.0.2.11 (DMZ) DHCP: 10.0.2.21-10.0.2.100 RRAS DHCP: 10.0.2.101-10.0.2.150 I hope someone has an idea to get this route working!

    Had a new Axis IP camera delivered yesterday. Plugged into Cisco E2400 Wireless Router but having problems. Example topology: WAN IP: 10.10.10.10 (example) Cisco Router: 192.168.1.1 Axis Camera: 192.168.1.10:80 Port forwarding rules set up on router External Port: 999 Internal Port: 80 Protocol: TCP & UDP Device IP: 192.168.1.10:80 Enabled: True Trying to connect from within the lan to 192.168.1.1:80 from within browser - Works properly. Trying to connect from within the lan to 10:10:10:10:999 from within browser - Works properly. Trying to connect from outside the LAN (e.g. via 3g or another isp) to 10:10:10:10:999 from within browser - Doesnt work. I get the following errors from different machines / browsers: Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding (IOS) The server at xx.xx.xx.xx is taking too long to respond. (firefox) This problem is not just for the Axis camera. I am also having similar problems connecting to my NAS drive. After using a web based port scanning tool, it appears as though port 999 is closed. Not certain why when I have set up port forwarding within the router. Any troubleshooting suggestions to help me determine whether the problem is with my Cisco settings / firewall or whether it could be my ISP blocking incoming connection requests? Many thanks

    I'm considering trying to make a game that takes place on an essentially infinite grid. The grid is very sparse. Certain small regions of relatively high density. Relatively few isolated nonempty cells. The amount of the grid in use is too large to implement naively but probably smallish by "big data" standards (I'm not trying to map the Internet or anything like that) This needs to be easy to persist. Here are the operations I may want to perform (reasonably efficiently) on this grid: Ask for some small rectangular region of cells and all their contents (a player's current neighborhood) Set individual cells or blit small regions (the player is making a move) Ask for the rough shape or outline/silhouette of some larger rectangular regions (a world map or region preview) Find some regions with approximately a given density (player spawning location) Approximate shortest path through gaps of at most some small constant empty spaces per hop (it's OK to be a bad approximation often, but not OK to keep heading the wrong direction searching) Approximate convex hull for a region Here's the catch: I want to do this in a web app. That is, I would prefer to use existing data storage (perhaps in the form of a relational database) and relatively little external dependency (preferably avoiding the need for a persistent process). Guys, what advice can you give me on actually implementing this? How would you do this if the web-app restrictions weren't in place? How would you modify that if they were? Thanks a lot, everyone!

    I'm considering moving my site from a GoDaddy shared hosting account to a Media Temple grid hosting account in anticipation of traffic. However, I first have some concerns with the grid hosting setup. My site stores a large personal set of data on a per-user basis (possibly 3-4MB per user). At this rate I was worried about blowing over a 1GB MySQL limit in no time. To deal with this I created distributed SQLite databases per user to store large data objects. It's worked wonderfully so far. SQLite is super fast and simple. I know that reading from and writing to files is different in a Grid Hosting environment. I need to know if this setup is going to cause serious problems. These databases are not (and will not be) highly trafficked. They are personal to the user and will only be touched maybe two locations at the same time (one updating the data hourly at the most, and one or more reading on demand). I'd like to keep this setup as getting additional space (beyond 4GB) on a MySQL database seems to be a real trouble point. Will Grid Hosting cause me serious problems? Thanks.

I mean nothing very much RowDetailTemplate Specific, most of the code which you will see inside the RowDetailsTemplate is plain and simple, where I am binding rest of the Address Column. And that,s it. Once we will bind the DataGrid, you are ready to go. In the code below from MainForm.xaml.cs, I am just binding the DataGrid public partial class MainPage : UserControl { public MainPage() { InitializeComponent(); BindControls(); } private void BindControls() { EmployeeData employees = new EmployeeData(); gridEmployee.ItemsSource = employees.GetEmployeeData(); } } Once you will run, you can see the output I have given in the screenshot above. In this example I have just shown the very basic example, now it up to your creativity and requirement, you can put some other controls like checkbox, Images, even other DataGrid, etc inside this RowDetailsTemplate column. I am attaching my sample source code with this post. I have used Silverlight 3 and Visual Studio 2008, but this is fully compatible with you Silverlight 4 and Visual Studio 2010. you may just need to Upgrade the attached Sample.   • SQL Developer Quick Tip: Reordering Columns

    Do you find yourself always scrolling and scrolling and scrolling to get to the column you want to see when looking at a table or view’s data? Don’t do that! Instead, just right-click on the column headers, select ‘Columns’, and reorder as desired. Access the Manage Columns dialog Then move up the columns you want to see first… Put them in the order you want – it won’t affect the database. Now I see the data I want to see, when I want to see it – no scrolling. This will only change how the data is displayed for you, and SQL Developer will remember this ordering until you ‘Delete Persisted Settings…’ What IS Remembered Via These ‘Persisted Settings?’ Column Widths Column Sorts Column Positions Find/Highlights This means if you manipulate one of these settings, SQL Developer will remember them the next time you open the tool and go to that table or view. Don’t know what I mean by ‘Find/Highlight?’ Find and highlight values in a grid with Ctrl+F

  • Do You Develop Your PL/SQL Directly in the Database?

    I know this sounds like a REALLY weird question for many of you. Let me make one thing clear right away though, I am NOT talking about creating and replacing PLSQL objects directly into a production environment. Do we really need to talk about developers in production again? No, what I am talking about is a developer doing their work from start to finish in a development database. These are generally available to a development team for building the next and greatest version of your databases and database applications. And of course you are using a third party source control system, right? Last week I was in Tampa, FL presenting at the monthly Suncoast Oracle User’s Group meeting. Had a wonderful time, great questions and back-and-forth. My favorite heckler was there, @oraclenered, AKA Chet Justice.  I was in the middle of talking about how it’s better to do your PLSQL work in the Procedure Editor when Chet pipes up - Don’t do it that way, that’s wrong Just press play to edit the PLSQL directly in the database Or something along those lines. I didn’t get what the heck he was talking about. I had been showing how the Procedure Editor gives you much better feedback and support when working with PLSQL. After a few back-and-forths I got to what Chet’s main objection was, and again I’m going to paraphrase: You should develop offline in your SQL worksheet. Don’t do anything in the database until it’s done. I didn’t understand. Were developers expected to be able to internalize and mentally model the PL/SQL engine, see where their errors were, etc in these offline scripts? No, please give Chet more credit than that. What is the ideal Oracle Development Environment? If I were back in the ‘real world’ of database development, I would do all of my development outside of the ‘dev’ instance. My development process looks a little something like this: Do I have a program that already does something like this – copy and paste Has some smart person already written something like this – copy and paste Start typing in the white-screen-of-panic and bungle along until I get something that half-works Tweek, debug, test until I have fooled my subconscious into thinking that it’s ‘good’ As you might understand, I don’t want my co-workers to see the evolution of my code. It would seriously freak them out and I probably wouldn’t have a job anymore (don’t remind me that I already worked myself out of development.) So here’s what I like to do: Run a Local Instance of Oracle on my Machine and Develop My Code Privately I take a copy of development – that’s what source control is for afterall – and run it where no one else can see it. I now get to be my own DBA. If I need a trace – no problem. If I want to run an ASH report, no worries. If I need to create a directory or run some DataPump jobs, that’s all on me. Now when I get my code ‘up to snuff,’ then I will check it into source control and compile it into the official development instance. So my teammates suddenly go from seeing no program, to a mostly complete program. Is this right? If not, it doesn’t seem wrong to me. And after talking to Chet in the car on the way to the local cigar bar, it seems that he’s of the same opinion. So what’s so wrong with coding directly into a development instance? I think ‘wrong’ is a bit strong here. But there are a few pitfalls that you might want to look out for. A few come to mind – and I’m sure Chet could add many more as my memory fails me at the moment. But here goes: Development instance isn’t properly backed up – would hate to lose that work Development is wiped once a week and copied over from Prod – don’t laugh Someone clobbers your code You accidentally on purpose clobber someone else’s code The more developers you have in a single fish pond, the greater chance something ‘bad’ will happen This Isn’t One of Those Posts Where I Tell You What You Should Be Doing I realize many shops won’t be open to allowing developers to stage their own local copies of Oracle. But I would at least be aware that many of your developers are probably doing this anyway – with or without your tacit approval. SQL Developer can do local file tracking, but you should be using Source Control too! I will say that I think it’s imperative that you control your source code outside the database, even if your development team is comprised of a single developer. Store your source code in a file, and control that file in something like Subversion. You would be shocked at the number of teams that do not use a source control system. I know I continue to be shocked no matter how many times I meet another team running by the seat-of-their-pants. I’d love to hear how your development process works. And of course I want to know how SQL Developer and the rest of our tools can better support your processes.     I am a beginner in Android and I want to create a very simple 2D game. I've already programmed a Tic-Tac-Toe game. The drawing of the game board and connecting it with my game and input logic was quite difficult (as it was done separately, canvas drawing, calculating positions, etc). By now I figured out that there must be a simpler way. All I want is a simple grid; something like this: http://www.blelb.com/deutsch/blelbspots/spot29/images/hermannneg.gif. The edges should be visible and black, and each cell editable, containing either an image or nothing, so I can detect if the player is on that cell or not, move it... Think of it as Chess or something similar. Searching the internet during the last days, I am a bit overwhelmed of all the different options. After all, I think Gridview or Gridlayout is what I am searching for, but I'm still stuck. I hope you can help me with some good advice or maybe a link to a nice tutorial. I have checked several already, and none were exactly what I was searching for.
