    Hi all, I've a scenario where my java program has to continuously communicate with the database table, example my java program has to get the data of my table when new rows are added to it at runtime. There should be continuous communication between my program and database. if the table has 10 rows initially and 2 rows are added by the user, it must detect this and return the rows. My program shouldn't use AJAX and timers. Please Help.

  • MAC OS X: How to determine if filesystem is case sensitive?

    I have used the statfs(2) system call to get many characteristics of a Mac OS X filesystem, but it doesn't tell me if the filesystem is case-sensitive or not. I need this information as the application I am developing will be moving many files around and I want to detect potential loss of data due to files being moved from a case-sensitive filesystem to a case-insensitive filesystem. Can anyone suggest a way of detecting this?

  • Url rewriting : prevent to display xml

    Edit : I've got an aspx file (default.aspx) that loads a flash file (index.swf), but this swf needs a xml file (foo.xml) to load correctly. However, I would like to block any request aiming directly at the xml file. Is it possible, using a rewritting engine (isapi_rewrite for example) to detect if the xml file is being 'hotlinked' or being loaded by the 'index.swf'(inside default.aspx)? Any ideas? Thank you.

    Hi everyone im new to a PHP framework codeIgniter, I am going over the user guide iv ran in to a problem, I am on the part where you load helper file but for some reason my code just isnt working I keep getting this error: Fatal error: Call to undefined function anchor() in /home/fresherd/public_html/CI/system/application/views/blogview.php on line 17 now im not 100% sure that it is loading the helper file this could be causing the but I am not sure how to detect the file has been loaded any advice will help many thanks, Alan

  • priority_queue with dynamic priorities

    Hey, I have a server application which accepts incomming queries and executes them. If there are too many queries they should be queued and if some of the other queries got executed the queued queries should be executed as well. Since I want to pass queries with different priorities I think using a priority_queue would be the best choice. e.g. The amout of the axcepting queries (a) hit the limt and new queries will be stored in the queue. All queries have a priority of 1 (lowest) if some of the queries from (a) get executed the programm will pick the query with the highest priority out of the queue and execute it. Still no problem. Now someone is sending a query with a priority of 5 which gets added to the queue. Since this is the query with the highest priority the application will execute this query as soon as the running queries no longer hit the limit. There might be the worst case that 500 queries with a priority of 1 are queued but wont be executed since someone is always sending queries with a priority of 5 hence these 500 queries will be queued for a looooong time. In order to prevent that I want to increase the prioritiy of all queries which have a lower priority than the query with the higher priority, in this example which have a priority lower than 5. So if the query with a priority of 5 gets pulled out of the queue all other queries with a priority < 5 should be increased by 0.2. This way queries with a low priority wont be queued for ever even if there might be 100 queries with a higher priority.   • Rendering a View without a Master Page

    Heya, I'm fetching a page using ajax (jquery) and appending certain data to the Requests query string to let the server know it shouldn't render the entire Page, just the view in question to the output buffer. I'm having no luck though, I can detect when the page needs to be rendered partially, but everything I've tried so far (including stuff like return PartialView()) isn't working. Any ideas?   • Canvas total width (visible width + hidden scrollable part)

    It's probably a no brainer, but I've spent the last 40 minutes or so looking for it to no avial. I have a Canvas control with a fixed width and a horizontal scrollbar. I'm trying to find the actual width of the control. The .width (fixed width) + the part being reviled by the scrollbar. I tried explicitWidth, width + maxHorizontalScrollPosition, and some other combos but non of them hit the spot.
