• How could I embed a html/css/js view in a webstart application

  I would like to use a html/css/js view in my webstart project without requesting all permissions. I figured out that I could use the java HTTPServer to process the requests but I need a way to avoid using real sockets, so that the HTTPServer instantiation doesn't ask for some permission. Do you know any projects that achieve that ? and if not, what should I do to get an HTTPServer completely working locally (without hitting boundaries...) ? edit: maybe an HTTPServer is too much, I maybe only need a HttpHandler..

• Internet Explorer discards cookie when printing?

  I have an unusual issue with this page: http://reports.liftlogger.com/FleetReport/Status/ (username stackoverflow / password stackoverflow). The page loads and renders correctly in IE7/8. However, the graph does NOT print correctly. When printing or print previewing, the graph fails to load. I've identified that when printing, the browser attempts to reload the image, but does not send the ASPXAUTH authentication cookie along with it. This is required to generate the image (due to permission enforcement in the back-end). Can anyone help me identify why IE decides not to send this cookie, and is there a fix? Regards Gareth

• Adobe Reader Wants Sensitive Email Details

  When I run Adobe Reader, it tells me: Either there is no default mail client or the current mail client cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Outlook and set it as the default mail client. I have a couple of issues with this: 1) It presupposes everyone has Microsoft Office installed. Not all home users have the budget or inclination for this. 2) It presupposes everyone wants Microsoft Outlook to be their default mail client. 3) I have Microsoft Office (incl. Outlook) installed and set as my default mail client. Even if I make it the default mail client from within the Adobe Reader Preferences, that doesn't stop the dialog appearing. 4) I thought I'd give Adobe Reader a new email address in the preferences, just to get it to stop bugging me. I notice, though, that it want's the SMTP and POP addresses and the account password? They have got to be kidding? I just want to view PDF files. How do I get the message to go away without telling Adobe my life story, giving them my mother's maiden name, my favourite movie, my place of birth, the name of my first goldfish and emptying the contents of my wallet for them?

• Uploading image file from website on yahoo server causes 410 gone error message when trying to acces

  I have a form that lets users upload a photo of themselves. This seems to work. The photo does exist on the server once uploaded. When I try to access the file I get a "403 forbidden - you don't have permission to access this url on this sever" and also I get "Additionally, a 410 Gone error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request." • PHP: Symlink in public_html cannot be accessed through browser

  I have tester.php file which I want to run on the browser and I have created symlink to it in my public_html folder, but still when I try to run it, its not working and gives me following error message. Access forbidden! You don't have permission to access the requested object. It is either read-protected or not readable by the server. If you think this is a server error, please contact the webmaster. Error 403 web.upc03.dev.com Sun Apr 4 22:41:23 2010 Apache I am not sure as to why am I getting this error message, I have check all file permissions settings and it seems to be fine. My File permissions settings are: lrwxrwxrwx for tester.php Is there something that should be done other way or is this not the proper approach ?

• Bluehost Emails Getting Blocked

  A site for my client has the run-of-the-mill "website with users" email pattern. Create an account, get an activation email. Get an email when a subscription is expiring, etc. The site is hosted on Bluehost and currently it uses php's mail() function. There isn't much configuration that is allowed (as far as I know). The trouble is, about a third of these emails disappear into the void. They aren't in spam or junk folders, there's no bounce message, they just cease to exist. I've read about Bluehost email troubles but I can't figure out what my options are for fixing it. These aren't marketing emails, ie they have user-specific information contained within them. I suppose if a solution offers a good templating system that would be fine. What are my options?   Hello, Can anybody help me how to run a python script through command line? When I execute the above command I get error No such file or directory but when i chmod the file to 644 it says Permission denied the file is present at the location.   I have a client application that creates a temp table, the performs a bulk insert into the temp table, then executes some SQL using the table before deleting it. Pseudo-code: open connection begin transaction CREATE TABLE #Temp ([Id] AS int) bulk insert 500 rows into #Temp UPDATE [OtherTable] SET [Status]=0 WHERE [Id] IN (SELECT [Id] FROM #Temp) AND [Group]=1 DELETE FROM #Temp WHERE [Id] IN (SELECT [Id] FROM [OtherTable] WHERE [Group]=1) INSERT INTO [OtherTable] ([Group], [Id]) SELECT 1 as [Group], [DocIden] FROM #Temp DROP TABLE #Temp COMMIT TRANSACTION CLOSE CONNECTION This is failing with an error on the DROP statement: Cannot drop the table '#Temp', because it does not exist or you do not have permission. I can't imagine how this failure could occur without something else going on first, but I don't see any other failures occurring before this. Is there anything that I'm missing that could be causing this to happen?

• postfix says mail sent ok, message does not arrive in ISPs inbox? no reject in log?

  When I send a test message from my mail server to my @bellsouth.net email, The postfix log shows it was sent OK, but the message never arrives in my bellsouth inbox. Shouldn't I get a failure notice or a bounce if At&T is blocking the messages? I'm trying to troubleshoot why some customers aren't getting emails, but if there's nothing in mail.log to say the message is rejected, how do I know which messages were delivered successfully? • Amazon AWS s3fs mount problem on Fedora 14

  I successfully compiled and installed s3fs (http://code.google.com/p/s3fs/) on my Fedora 14 machine. I included the password credentials in /etc/ as specified in the guide. When I run: sudo /usr/bin/s3fs bucket_name /mnt/bucket_name/ it runs successfully. (note: the bucket name is the same as the folder name in /mnt/). When I run ls in /mnt/ I get the error "ls: cannot access bucket_name: Permission denied". When I run sudo chmod 640 /mnt/bucket_name I get "chmod: changing permissions of `bucket_name': Input/output error". When I reboot the machine I can access the folder /mnt/bucket_name normally but it is not mapped to the s3 bucket. So, basically I have two questions. 1) How do I access the folder (/mnt/bucket_name) as usual after I mount it to the s3 bucket and 2) How can I keep it mounted even after machine restart. Regards

  Hello. I'm just wondering how some e-mails get past the spam filter, and some don't? Everyday I get World of Warcraft phishing emails that get past the filter... Here, the spammer specified "blizzard.com". And he sent his email through Hotmail using Outlook Express. I just don't understand how this gets past the spam filter? There's this SPF thing that seems to exist... but it doesn't seem to be used by blizzard? I'm on Windows, and if I use nslookup to look for the TXT records of blizzard.com and worldofwarcraft.com, I don't see a thing.... so blizzard is not using SPF? Why would that be?

• Wordpress rewrite image path

  I've got a website that is running WordPress. It has several pictures that I am retrieving from a datafeed. The images from the datafeed are at locations like: http://image4.example.com/640/examples/example.jpg http://image4.example.com/640/example.jpg The image4 and 640 locations can change. I want to rewrite the images to where they show as from my website. I've tried: rewritecond %{HTTP_HOST} !^image4.example.com$ rewriterule ^([^/]+)$ http://image4.mywebsite.com/$1 [L,R=301] but it doesn't work. I don't know much about Mod Rewrite. any help would be appreciated, and no I'm not hijacking the images, i have permission to use them and the bandwidth. Thanks -Brad

Each time I try to call the ListChildren method I get an insuffient permission exception.   I have created one user named "tuser" with create database rights in SQL server 2005. and given the 'db_owner' database role of master and msdb database to "tuser". From this user login when I run the script for create database then it will create new database. But "tuser" don't have access that newly created database generated from script. Any one have any idea?, I want to write the script so "tuser" have access that new created database after creation and can have add user permission of newly created database. I want to give 'db_owner' database roles to "tuser" on that newly created database in the same script which create new database. The script run under 'tuser'.

  Hi, Earlier users with more than 300 reputations or so (don't remeber exactly) had the ability to create new tags which is tagged to their Questions , so that it was easier to search for similar questions with the tags. And also the tags helped to identify the context of the Questions asked for. I had also created few new tags for the questions that i ask for. But now it seems the Stackover team without prior notice to the users or any intimation has revoked the permission for creating new tags and also has set the reputation to more that 1500 for creating new tags. Isn't this a bully act or did they feel its useless/unnecessary not required to inform all the registered users before making the changes ? thoughts....

  Very possibly very related: What PHP framework would you choose for a new application and why? Zend or CakePHP? Which one is better? Some people say CakePHP is better for php 4, what do you think? In my case, I would like the following: Lesser code to write, have really strong library and plugin base. Always have new library etc added in from contributor, eg: google map and etc... Ability to use together with the templating system like smarty. Have ACL that can control all the permission level issue. Load class when needed, unload when not needed. Load class once and use globally. Can run in windows environment (I am using xampp to run my php in windows.) After the site done, I will upload all codes into windows 2008 server (using php 5)

• Is there any way to send Outlook meeting requests from a non-default calendar?

  Hi, We have a user with two Outlook accounts. [email protected] is of type Exchange; [email protected] is of type IMAP/SMTP. Both are actually on our Exchange server; but since an Outlook profile can only have one Exchange account, the second one is set up as IMAP. The user would like to send a meeting request from her xyz.com account, so the "from" address appears as [email protected]. Unfortunately that doesn't work. If she creates the meeting in her xyz.com calendar, the meeting request still goes out through her Exchange account, [email protected]. The meeting request "compose message" window has an Account dropdown below the Send button, but this has no effect. Before she sends the invitation, a warning appears: "Responses to this meeting request will not be tallied because this meeting is not in your main Calendar folder. Is this OK?" Is there any workaround for this? We're using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2003 SP2. Thanks, Richard

  Hi I have a problem with following scenario: There is a windows service running which spawns several processes. These processes open a WCF service host over a named pipe binding. Now the parent windows service tries to ping (connect) to the child processes using the wcf proxy over the well known named pipe. This, however fails saying: "Endpoint not found" If I run the parent process as a console application it works fine. Any ideas? I was thinking about permissions but the child processes should inherit the permission of the service, besides they are in the same session as well. thanks, Christoph

• ASP.NET sending email through exchange problem

  I have an exchange 2010 server running on Windows 2008 R2, I also have a remote webserver running Windows 2003 with multiple sites on it (all asp.net mvc 2 sites). I setup a Transport in exchange and all the websites on my remote web server can send email no problem to anyone in the exchange server and to any external domain. Now for my problem. I am having issues with that webserver, so I moved one of the websites to run on my exchange server, it runs well (low hit website) except that email doesn't work from that site. I tried changing the Transport in exchange to add the IP address of the local machine and the 127.0.0.1 addresses and it still isn't sending any email. Any ideas on how to get this working? The remote websites can still send email no problem, the version of the site that I had to move on the remote server can still email, but on the exchange server for that website email does not send. I would guess it is a Transport issue, since it is running on the same server a firewall shouldn't be the issue. I changed the smtp setting in web.config to localhost, and now I do receive email to my account on the exchange server, but I do not receive any emails on outside addresses. To add more description, this is a custom developed asp.net mvc 2 website. And no errors were being generated in the code when sending the email in either case.

• Postfix / Dovecot email setup not storing email

  I'm trying to setup postfix / dovecot on my debian server to use it for a mail server. I set everything up according to a tutorial on the net, and it all seemed OK. I can send emails from it, so SMTP is not a problem, however I cannot receive emails. Looking into the files in /home/nick/mail/ I can see that if I send an email to myself (from the server, to itself) the emails are there, but are put straight into the Deleted Messages folder. I don't know why this is. When I send an email from another mail account (not on this server), the emails are nowhere to be found. Also, looking at the log file /var/log/mail.log all seems to be OK, I get the following when I receive an email, which looks OK to me: Nov 7 22:47:22 nickduffell postfix/local[17825]: 05B1173581A6: to=, relay=local, delay=0.37, delays=0.31/0.02/0/0.03, dsn=2.0.0, status=sent (delivered to mailbox) Any ideas? Thanks EDIT: I should also add that although the emails I send myself are in the Deleted Messages folder, and in my mail client I can see that "Trash" has 3 items, I cannot download them in my mail client...
