• Java Web Start: unsigned cglib

  I am using hibernate on the server side with a client application started via Java Web Start. I can't sign the jars (I'd like to but I can't). I get a permission exception when I get a POJO with lazy fields. Caused by: java.security.AccessControlException: access denied (java.util.PropertyPermission cglib.debugLocation read) at java.security.AccessControlContext.checkPermission(Unknown Source) at java.security.AccessController.checkPermission(Unknown Source) at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPermission(Unknown Source) at java.lang.SecurityManager.checkPropertyAccess(Unknown Source) at java.lang.System.getProperty(Unknown Source) at net.sf.cglib.core.DebuggingClassWriter.(DebuggingClassWriter.java:35) ... 44 more How can I avoid that? I thought about setting the collection to null before returning the pojo to the client but I'd like to find a better solution.

• some PDF's to iPhones via ActiveSync are corrupt

  we have two server applications (one .NET/ASP web app, the other a native Windows app) that generate PDF's that are then emailed to our users on Exchange 2010. the apps deliver the emails to the Exchange server via SMTP, and our iPhone/iPad users receive their email via activesync. pretty much all of the PDF's generated by the web app and many of the PDF's generated by the Windows app fail to open on an iPhone or iPad. tapping the attachment shows the screen that would display the PDF with the name of the file at the top but the bottom of the screen is completely grey. one thing i have figured out is that the attachment on the iPad is uuencoded. forwarding the attachment to another email address shows the uuencoded format. here's a sample: begin 600 unknown M)5!$1BTQ+C0-)>+CS],-"C8@,"!O8FH\/"](6S8U-B`Q-#A=+TQI;F5A<FEZ M960@,2]%(#DQ-#8O3"`Q,S`Q.2].(#$O3R`Y+U0@,3(X-3,^/@UE;F1O8FH- ---snip--- M,C8T,"`P,#`P,"!N#0IT<F%I;&5R#0H\/"]3:7IE(#8^/@T*<W1A<G1X<F5F .#0HQ,38-"B4E14]&#0H` ` end whereas the normal version of the file looks like a normal PDF: %PDF-1.4 %âãÏÓ 6 0 obj<</H[656 147]/Linearized 1/E 9698/L 13571/N 1/O 9/T 13405>> ---snip--- trailer <</Size 6>> startxref 116 %%EOF so i think the problem is that the attachment is being double uuencoded somewhere, or the iPhone is failing to recognize that the attachment is uuencoded and not decoding it. any suggestions on where to begin troubleshooting this problem?

  I am trying to install stunnel on an amazon LINUX machine. (i want to configure postfix so that it sends its emails through amazon ses) I first tried to install from the tar.gz package download from http://www.stunnel.org and installed with the commands: ./configure make make install but than the stunnel command was still not found. Then I installed with yum install stunnel. When I use the locate stunnel command, I see files a bit everywhere. How can I do to have a clean install of stunnel? Edit: i was following this procedure: http://docs.amazonwebservices.com/ses/latest/DeveloperGuide/SMTP.MTAs.SecureTunnel.html when I got stuck at point 5 and got the stunnel.pem: No such file or directory message.

  I followed every step given in this guide: http://help.github.com/linux-key-setup/ When I get to the end I am able to ssh to [email protected], getting the response: PTY allocation request failed on channel 0 Hi AlexBaranosky! You've successfully authenticated, but GitHub does not provide shell access. Connection to github.com closed But when I go to clone my repo it fails saying: Permission denied (publickey). fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly I've used Github a lot, but this is my first use of it from an Ubuntu computer, is there something I am missing here?   I just read Jeff Atwood's recent post on DNS configuration for email and decided to give it a go on my application. I have a web-app that runs on one server under two different IPs and domain names, on both HTTP and HTTPS for each: <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName foo.org ServerAlias www.foo.org ... </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost 1.2.3.4:443> ServerName foo.org ServerAlias www.foo.org </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost *:80> ServerName bar.org ServerAlias www.bar.org ... </VirtualHost> <VirtualHost 2.3.4.5:443> ServerName bar.org ServerAlias www.bar.org </VirtualHost> I'm using GMail as my SMTP server. Do I need the reverse PTR and SenderID records? If so, do I put the same ones on all of my records (foo.org, www.foo.org, bar.org, www.bar.org, ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM, ASPMX2.GOOGLEMAIL.COM, ..)? I'm pretty sure I want the domain-keys records, but I'm not sure which domains to attach them to. The Google mail servers? foo.org and bar.org? Everything?

  I have been researching all day. Here is what I have done: In C:/PHP/php.ini and C:/PHP/php-cgi-fcgi.ini I have made the extension_dir = "C:/PHP/ext" I uncommented extension=php_openssl.dll I went to http://windows.php.net/download/ and got the thread safe version with the PHP 5.4 (5.4.8) version of DLL's In C:/PHP/ext I replaced the php_openssl.dll with the one I downloaded In System32 and SysWOW64 I added the following DLL's ssleay.dll libeay.dll I restarted the IIS server in the Server Manager under Web Server and stopped and started the World Wide Web Publishing Service That didn't work, so I tried same thing with the unthreaded versions.   My server has developed an expected problem where I am unable to connect from a mail client. I haven't made any changes to the server, so I can't understand what would have happened to make this error occur. Searches for the error messages yield various results, with 'fixes' that I'm uncertain of (obviously don't want to make it worse or fix something that isn't broken). When I run testsaslauthd -u xxxxx -p xxxxxx I also get the following result: connect() : No such file or directory But when I run testsaslauthd -u xxxxx -p xxxxxx -f /var/spool/postfix/var/run/saslauthd/mux -s smtp I get: 0: OK "Success." I found those commands on another forum and am not entirely sure what they mean, but I'm hoping they might give an indication of where the problem might lie. If it makes any difference, I'm running Ubuntu 10.04.1, Postfix 2.7.0 and Webmin/ Virtualmin.

• SSRS - Unable to determine if the owner of job has server access [SQLSTATE 42000] (Error 15404))

  SQL Server Reporting Services, in SSRS it seems like Schedules never fire, however a look at the SQL Agent reveals a permission issue related to not being able to resolve a user account. Seems SQL Agent does not rely on caching or whatever voodoo Windows magically works. link text Fix is listed here... edit -- Above is the fix I used to workaround this issue, has any one found any other work arounds or resolutions to this issue? It seems that by default the SSRS Generated Schedules are run as this phantom user account. How do I change this default? Is SSRS creating the jobs as the user the service runs as? Thanks Remus

• Problem restoring a SQL Server backup

  I have a SQL Server 2008, which is part of a domain. Now I make a backup of a database of this server and restore it on a SQL Server, which is not part of a domain. I have an C# application, which uses this database. On the NON-Domain machine I get now exceptions like this: "Cannot execute as the database prinzipal because the principial "dbo" does not exist, this type of principal cannot be impersonatedm or you don not have the permission" I think, the problem is, that the database owner is a domain user and this user doesn't exist on the target machine (backup machine)!? How can I solve this ?

  This issue has been occupying my work for the last few days and I will be understating when I say its driven me up the blasted walls. Essentially, I can ping and tracert the domain jnrcs.org and the subdomains mail.jnrcs.org and mail.jordanredcrescent.org. All three mentioned point to ip address 212.38.147.97. About 4 days ago, when we registered the domain "jnrcs.org" suddenly all external connection to the mail server from outside was lost. Not just mail, but other http based port-forwarded or natted services (such as camera surveillance and pbx services). • Calling Web Page from Windows Service

  I have a Windows 2008 server. This has an instance of IIS7 installed and a website, accessible only via an internal hostname defined in the the servers hosts file. e.g. the server IP is 10.0.6.11 and the hosts file contains an entry 10.0.6.11 hl7.ourname.org I would like to call a URL on the website, e.g "http://hl7.ourname.org/updatestatus" from a Windows service. I can call the web site from an instance of IE7 running on the server. However, if try to call it from a Windows service I get a "Socket Error # 10061 Connection refused." This looks like a permission issue. The service is running as "Network Service" ,but maybe I should be running as a different user. Thanks

  When I open up an xsd file that includes other xsd files, all of the included files are added to a section called "Unauthorized zone". Visual Studio highlights the element and gives the following error when trying to resolve the schemaLocation attribute: Request for the permission of type 'System.Security.Permissions.FileIOPermission, mscorlib, Version=4.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=b77a5c561934e089' failed. I've read the following blog post, but I'm not familiar enough with xsd yet to fully understand it. Can anyone explain why this is happening or point me to a good resource that can help?

• How to use a local Leopard Server Mail server acting "like" an Exchange mail server

  We have a local Exchange 2003 server (company .local) who is collecting POP3 mail accounts on a distant (company .com) mailserver. The mails are collected by the Exchange server every 5-10 minutes and stored locally (on company .local), so the users can read them without going on the "real" mail server (company.com) What was explaned to me is that the mail collection is made with POP Now we are migrating on Snow Leopard Server. We have chosen to use a new extension for our local domain: .leo So our mailserver's FQDN is mail.company.leo, and the users have a user [email protected] formated mail address. A) All works fine except that I can't find how to tell the mail.company.leo that he must retreive the mails from the "real" public server (mail.company.com) I'm hoping to use IMAP and not POP. I can send mail using SMTP relay from mail.company.leo but (I know it's trivial) answering is not possible, even if I specify the reply-to as [email protected] (this seems to be related to A) ) I don't know if it's very complicated (I suspect not, but...) to achieve what I want to do, and I'm not a genius. But as I'm a little bit lost, I hopesomebody can or will help me. Solving this will allow us to use iCal invitations too, so a lot of services depends of these mailserver settings Some of you discuss the fact thta we choose to use a "new" tld with the .leo extension. We have no problem for that, we could use .local. no problem ;) We used .leo instead of .local just to differentiate the two systems (Exchange and SnowLeopardServer). The question was not about that, it was just to know if we can set a SnowLeopard mail server to act like an Exchange Server.   I have written a WPF windows application that consumes a .net WebService. This works fine when the web service in hosted to allow anonymous connections, however the WebService I need to consume when we go live will be held within a website that has Integrated Authentication enabled. The person running the WPF application will be logged onto a computer within the same domain as the web server and will have permission to see the WebService (without entering any auth info) if browsing to it using a web browser that is NTLM auth enabled. Is it possible to pass through the details of the already logged in user running the application to the WebService? (non commercial preferred since it's just for experimentation) The idea is to allow a user to say something from a website then whatever he/she says will show up on the screen (as text) I've read about many available softwares ranging from Microsoft Speech, Sphinx, Julius etc just not sure which one will perform best and easiest to install. • Identifying mail account used in CRAM-MD5 transaction

  I suppose this is one of those where the tool for identifying the problem is also the tool used for taking advantage of it. I have a mail server that I am seeing emails that spam is being sent through it. It is not an open relay, the messages in question are being sent by someone authenticating to the smtp with CRAM-MD5. However, the logs only capture the actual data passed, which has been hashed so I cannot see what user account is being used. My suspicion is a simple username/password combo or a user account's password has otherwise been compromised, but I cannot do much about it without knowing what user it is. Of course I can block the IP that is doing it, but that doesn't fix the real problem. I have both the CRAM-MD5 Base64 challenge string and the hashed client auth string containing the username, password and challenge string. I am looking for a way to either reverse this (which I haven't been able to find any information on) or otherwise I suppose I need a dictionary attack tool designed for CRAM-MD5 to run through two lists, one for username and one for password and the constant of the challenge string until it finds a matching result of the authentication string I have logged. Any information on reversing using the data I have logged, a tool to identify it or any alternative methods you have used for this situation would be greatly appreciated.

  I'm trying to point DocumentRoot at a directory in my user folder. While I can happily point DocumentRoot at /Library/WebServer/Documents and ~/Sites I keep getting "You don't have permission to access / on this server." when I point it anywhere else. OK, I just found a solution mid-question (stack overflow is just that good) by changing the user/group apache runs under to myuser/admin. I'm sure there must be a better way though. Surely some kind of permissions magic on the directory I'm pointing at?

  I'm considering utilizing the ASP.NET Membership Provider for a few different web apps/tools with a single login approach. REQUIREMENTS User logs in to my.domain.com and sees a list of apps/tools that they have permission to use. The user selects the tool they'd like to use and clicks the link. When the tool opens, it is able to identify that they are currently logged in and who they are to identify any unique permissions to the application. I know that each app could simply point to the same back end Membership Provider DB, however will each app require a login or will it be able to identify if the user is already logged in?

• How to fix a Postfix/MySQL/Dovecot Unknown Host Issue?

  I am having an issue with one of my Postfix/Dovecot mail servers and I'm unsure how to fix the problem. I will try to explain it in detail, here it goes: I have an Ubuntu server setup using Virtual hosting with Postfix, Dovecot and MySQL. We have one domain setup as a virtual domain, for this example I am going to use mail.example.com. Under that domain we have one email address. I have another server (MS Exchange) setup using another one of my sub-domains, ex.example.com. The problem is that when I SMTP into the account on mail.example.com and try to send an email to an account on ex.example.com, I get the email returned back to us with an "unknown host" error. Now, I know that the mail.example.com server can resolve the ex.example.com domain because I can ping/dig while SSH'd into it. I can also log into Postfix via Telnet and send an email to an ex.example.com mailbox. I'm guessing that it has something to do with Postfix/Dovecot looking locally for the domain in the virtual domain list because of the tld domain (example.com)? If that's the case, how do I get Postfix/Dovecot to only look locally for the entire URL (mail.example.com) and if it doesn't find it, send it to the correct server by looking up the MX/A records (which I know exist and are setup correctly)? I have been working on this all day and any guidance would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks for your time!

I installed IIS7 on Windows Server 2008 R2 and added these two application to my default website. I am having a number of problems so im hoping one of you can help out... 1) The silverlight and WCF service applications do not work with pass-through authentication. I need to "connect as" the administrator server account when setting up the application. I read online that you should only need to use the "connect as" field when you are connecting to another computer. If i dont supply the admin credentials i get this error. • How to setup Calendar permissions for group to group

  I've been scouring the internet and so far have only been able to find examples of how to grant calendar permissions from one user to another using the Add-MailboxFolderPermission command. This is great and it was okay for when they only had a handful of users. But going forward it's not realistic to have to set individual calendar permissions for all calendars for each new user. Layout of security groups already created. Each group has a few people assigned to it. Techs Managers Admin What I am trying to accomplish is set it up so that anyone that belongs to the Managers group can view the calendars of the Tech group. Admins can view and edit the Tech group. • Sender's Sendmail says "stat=Sent" but recipent doesn't receive the message

  Guys, I am trying to figure out why sendmail is saying that it sends out an email but I actually never get it. This is from the logs when the email is being sent out: I have replaced the email address with some fake address and I have also replaced the name of the server with a fake hostname. The most significant point of this information from the logs is that it shows that the "Message was accepted for delivery". Do you guys have any suggestions as to why it seems like the message goes out but I never get the actual email? • Exchange DEAD! Server recovered but no users can log in

  Yesterday we had a hardware failure and brought our exchange server down. The hardware was repaired and the server was brought back up. Windows server 2008 did the disk check upon bootup and everything was recovered. However, no users can log into their exchange account! This is true with IMAP, Exchange and OWA! All three of them, refused to accept any users. For example when I try to access OWA, I get the following page http://pastie.org/584061 We verified that all the services are up (IMAP, POP, SMTP, IIS etc). We were able to connect to all those services with their respective ports through telnet. What could be the problem? It looks like the database cannot be mounted, from Exchange management console, when I try to mount the database it gives: Microsoft Exchange Error Failed to mount database 'Mailbox Database'. Mailbox Database Failed Error: Exchange is unable to mount the database that you specified. Specified database: SERVER\First Storage Group\Mailbox Database; Error code: MapiExceptionCallFailed: Unable to mount database. (hr=0x80004005, ec=-528) . I read online that there is a repair utility, so I tried it. I navigated to my edb file and ran eseutil /p "Mailbox Database.edb". It printed the following output *Repair completed. Database corruption has been repaired! Note: It is recommended that you immediately perform a full backup of this database. If you restore a backup made before the repair, the database will be rolled back to the state it was in at the time of that backup. Operation completed successfully with 595 (JET_wrnDatabaseRepaired, Database cor ruption has been repaired) after 885.750 seconds.* However I am still unable to mount!
