• Storing an image map in a database

  I have a requirement to allow users in a content management system to create their own image maps through a gui interface, which I have accomplished. But instead of saving the image map to the page code, I want to save the image map code to a database (sql), which I've also accomplished. When I started down this road in my head I was thinking the whole time that I'd just add the "usemap" attribute at runtime shown below where promo1.ImageMap holds the entire map code: if(promo1.HasImageMap) imgPromotion1.Attributes.Add("usemap", promo1.ImageMap); I guess I didn't think it though well enough, because it seems that "usemap" only expects the name of the existing map to use from the page code, and not the map code as a string. Does anyone have any clever ideas on how to apply the map from the database to the image at run time?

• Parsing boolean from configuration section in web.config

  I have a custom configuration section in my web.config. One of my classes is grabbing from this: <myConfigSection LabelVisible="" TitleVisible="true"/> I have things working for parsing if I have true or false, however if the attribute is blank I am getting errors. When the config section tries to map the class to the configuration section I get an error of "not a valid value for bool" on the 'LabelVisible' part. How can I parse "" as false in my myConfigSection class? I have tried this: [ConfigurationProperty("labelsVisible", DefaultValue = true, IsRequired = false)] public bool? LabelsVisible { get { return (bool?)this["labelsVisible"]; } But when I try and use what is returned like so: graph.Label.Visible = myConfigSection.LabelsVisible; I get an error of: 'Cannot implicitly convert type 'bool?' to 'bool'. An explicit conversion exists (are you missing a cast?) Thanks for any suggestions!

• IE won't start session from an iframe?..

  The task was to bypass login form on remote server with a session_id acquired through a call to server's web API. So that user wouldn't have to login twice. Since there's no way to set cookies for different domain. What we came up to was - put a little file on remote server, to which we pass encrypted session_id from hidden iframe and which is supposed to start a proper session for a remote app, which is then loaded in another iframe. This approach works fine in FF/Chrome, but not IE... However if I copy url to self-made remote authorization script from iframe's src attribute to to IE's address bar and load it from there, session get's created as expected. But for some reason it just doesn't want to do the same from an iframe. Does anyone have any clue, why this is happening?

• Define Servlet Context in WAR-File

  Hi, How can I tell e.g. Tomcat to use a specific context path when given my WAR-File? Example: I have a war file created by maven build and the resulting name of the file is rather long. So I do not want the tomcat manager application to use the filename of the war as the context. Supplying a context.xml in META-INF did not produce the desired results I also found this in the documentation for the path attribute of Context: The value of this field must not be set except when statically defining a Context in server.xml, as it will be inferred from the filenames used for either the .xml context file or the docBase. So it does not seem to be the right way to tell the application-server what the path for my WAR should be. Any more hints?

• django search and filter in Google App Engine

  Hi, I'm trying to add filter and search to my site. It's exactly the same code as in another working django project. The difference is that this time I do it with app engine. my views: http://slexy.org/view/s21GMw2sh1 I have 2 problems: 1.) I get error: "'Query' object has no attribute 'all'" on line 59 in views. As I understand it's something to do with the fact that GAE queryset is different from django queryset. How can I fix that? 2.) If I have 'search' in my request.GET I also fall on line 54 in my views. This is because I can't search by Q object in GAE, I guess. How can I fix that? Thanks, Alex A.

• How are binding specified for Interface Builder plugins?

  I'm creating an Interface Builder plugin for an NSView subclass. I've been following the Interface Builder Plug-in Programming Guide but it's not answer all my questions. My class has one NSString property and 4 NSColor properties which I want to create bindings for at design time. I can't figure out where the bindings are specified in the plugin project. The documentation states that the Inspector Object is only for creating the Attribute Inspector. The class description file (.classdescription) lists outlets and actions but not bindings. Where do I specify the bindings for my class?

• Is it possible to share a masterpage between MVC and webforms?

  I am adding MVC to a project that has MANY legacy webform pages. This works fine. However, I currently have a separate masterpage for MVC and for the webforms. The two master pages produce essentially identical output. I'd really like to kill the webforms one and just use the MVC master page with all my pages and stay DRY. Not being DRY has already bitten me a couple times when I forgot to change both. I tried doing the obvious way and just pointing the webform content page's MasterPage attribute at the MVC masterpage. This throws an error saying the MVC masters only work with MVC views. This seems like it would be a pretty common problem with mixed MVC and webform projects. My MVC master isn't doing anything with ViewData, so I don't see any reason the webforms couldn't use them.

  Hello, Do I need to do something different in an abstract class to get dependency injection working with Ninject? I have a base controller with the following code: public abstract class BaseController : Controller { public IAccountRepository AccountRepository { get; set; } } My module looks like this: public class WebDependencyModule : NinjectModule { public override void Load() { Bind<IAccountRepository>().To<AccountRepository>(); } } And this is my Global.asax: protected override void OnApplicationStarted() { Kernel.Load(new WebDependencyModule()); } protected override IKernel CreateKernel() { return new StandardKernel(); } It works when I decorate the IAccountRepository property with the [Inject] attribute. • jQuery Cluetip not activated until after hover or click event

  I'm not sure what is causing this, but I am using cluetip and binding it to a live event (either click or mouseenter), but in each situation the cluetip isn't firing until after one click or hover event. I am using the live event for ajax loaded content, but I'm also having this issue with non-Ajax loaded content. I'm not sure why this is happening - can anyone see where I might be going wrong?   Hi guy, I need to integrate struts with spring for a project. I read the doc to ingrate struts and it's ok for classic beans but I have a problem for my forms. I have a form like this in my struts-config.xml: <form-beans> <form-bean name="creationForm" type="org.apache.struts.validator.DynaValidatorActionForm" > <form-property name="libelle" type="java.lang.String" /> <form-property name="quantite" type="java.lang.String" /> <form-property name="prix" type="java.lang.String" initial="10" /> </form-bean> But it's strange for me to have a "type" in struts-config because it's spring which manages beans. I don't found anything in the doc to manage forms by spring and the attribute "type" is mandatory for form in struts-config. Someone can help me please ?

• jquery button click not firing asp.net button

  I've got a .net button that has an href attribute value set to 'javascript:WebForm_DoPostBackWithOptions(new WebForm_PostBackOptions("ctl00$cp1$ucInvoiceSearch$btnSearch", "", true, "", "", false, true))'. I've got a textbox that when I press enter I want it to fire this event. Doing the 'Enter' event isn't an issue but I can't get the event on the href to fire using .click(). Here's my function so far: $("[id*='tbInvNo']").keyup(function(event){ var $btn = $(".pnl-invoice-search"); if(event.keyCode == 13) $btn.click(); }); I've got no idea how to get this to fire. Hope someone can help - jQuery and asp.net are driving me up the wall today! :(

• NHibernate - is property lazy loading possible?

  I've got some binary data that I store and was going to separate this out into a separate table so it could be lazy loaded. However, i then came across this post by Ayende (http://ayende.com/Blog/archive/2010/01/27/nhibernate-new-feature-lazy-properties.aspx) which suggests that property lazy loading is now possible. I have added the lazy="true" attribute to my property mapping but the field is still loaded from the database (I am using a simple text field to test). My query: return _session.CreateQuery("from Product") .SetMaxResults(1) .UniqueResult<Product>(); Mapping: <property name="Description" type="string" column="FullDescription" lazy="true"/> Has anyone been able to get this working? Personally I prefer this approach than having to add another table to my database.

• Using attr_accessible in a join model with has_many :through relationship

  I have a USER that creates a COMPANY and become an EMPLOYEE in the process. The employees table has an :user_id and a :company_id. class User has_many :employees has_many :companies, :through => :employees class Employee belongs_to :user belongs_to :company attr_accessible :active class Company has_many :employees has_many :users, :through => employees Pretty basic. But here's the thing, the resource EMPLOYEE has other attributes than its foreign keys, like the boolean :active. I would like to use attr_accessible, but this causes some problems. The attribute :user_id is set right, but :company_id is nil. @user.companies << Company.new(...) Employee id:1 user_id:1 company_id:nil So my question is: if :user_id is set right, despite it is not an attr_accessible, why :company_id isn't set right just the same? It shouldn't be an attr_accessible. I'm using Rails 3.0.8, and have also tested with 3.0.7.

• Shutting down a WPF application from App.xaml.cs

  I am currently writing a WPF application which does command-line argument handling in App.xaml.cs (which is necessary because the Startup event seems to be the recommended way of getting at those arguments). Based on the arguments I want to exit the program at that point already which, as far as I know, should be done in WPF with Application.Current.Shutdown() or in this case (as I am in the current application object) probably also just this.Shutdown(). The only problem is that this doesn't seem to work right. I've stepped through with the debugger and code after the Shutdown() line still gets executed which leads to errors afterwards in the method, since I expected the application not to live that long. Also the main window (declared in the StartupUri attribute in XAML) still gets loaded. I've checked the documentation of that method and found nothing in the remarks that tell me that I shouldn't use it during Application.Startup or Application at all. So, what is the right way to exit the program at that point, i. e. the Startup event handler in an Application object?

  I have a number of inputs on a page function as JQ UI datepicker. Each needs to have different settings. If I empty the parentheses after $this.datepicker it works fine. I have also tried another way to assign settings. ("option",...) no dice.

• iphone's nsxmlparser parsing RSS causes encoding problems

  Hi, Im working on simle RSS reader. This reader loads data from internet via this code: NSXMLParser *rss = [[NSXMLParser alloc] initWithURL:[NSURL URLWithString:@"http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/50405236.rss"]]; My problem is with encoding. RSS 2.0 file is supposed to be UTF8 encoded according to encoding attribute in XML file. <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> So when I download URLs content I get text truncated after first occurance of char with diacritics, example: l š c t ž ý á í é, etc. I tried to solve the problem by downloading URL as UTF8 string, I used this code: NSString *rssXmlString = [NSString stringWithContentsOfURL: [NSURL URLWithString: @"http://www.macblog.sk/rss.xml"] encoding:NSUTF8StringEncoding error: nil]; NSData *rssXmlData = [rssXmlString dataUsingEncoding: NSUTF8StringEncoding]; Did not help.   Hello, I've been playing around with Active Record a bit, and I have noticed that A.C./ORM always uses the following database model when creating a one-to-one relationship Person id | country_id | name | ... Country id | tld | name | ... No I wondered, isn't this a violiation of the third Normal Form? This clearly states "Every non-prime attribute is non-transitively dependent on every key of the table". Well this country_id isn't dependent of personid is it? So is this wrong or am I just not getting the point?

• Strange tab ordering when creating controls after postback

  I have a button that opens a panel in a popup window and then performs a postback to retrieve data from the server and render some controls. Some of the controls are textboxes and some are dropdown lists and can be in any order. Everything works fine when tabbing through the textbox controls. But when tabbing from the first dropdown contorl found, the tab order 'gets lost' and it starts tabbing from the first control again. When I tab to the same dropdown list the second time 'round, it correctly tabs to the next control. Does anyone know what might be going on? Example: TextBox1 (Tab -> focus set to 'TextBox2') TextBox2 (Tab -> focus set to 'DropDown1') DropDown1 (Tab -> focus goes back up to 'TextBox1' - wtf?) TextBox3 Update: The TabIndex attribute is set on all controls.

• Customer session is different in different parts of a Magento website

  I have a function inside of a Helper in Magento that returns whether or not a customer attribute equals one. Here is my Helper class class Nie_Nie_Helper_Data extends Mage_Core_Helper_Abstract { public function isNieAdmin() { if(Mage::getSingleton('customer/session')->getCustomer()->getNieAdmin() == 1) { return true; } else { return false; } } } Now when I call this function from a class that extends Mage_Core_Block_Template, everything seems to work fine. However when I try to use this inside one of my controllers, it does not work. In fact when I do Mage::getSingleton('customer/session')-getCustomer()-debug() the only variable that is returned is the website_id. Does anyone know what I have to do in order to get this to work? • Android webview cookie problem

  I have a video link in a web view, on the emulator, I hear the audio and no video is displayed. I think this is an emulator issue. I tried on my Nexus One, when I click the link, it opens a new webview and tries to access the server almost immediately reverts back to the webview and does not show the video. Logcat says: WARN/ResponseProcessCookies(486): Cookie rejected: "BasicClientCookie[version=0,name=GX,domain=mail.google.com,path=/proxy/gmail/mail,expiry=Tue Mar 22 19:55:33 EDT 2011]". Illegal domain attribute "mail.google.com". Domain of origin: "android.clients.google.com" How can I fix this?

• jQuery hyperlinks - href value?

  Hi, On my website I use jQuery to hook the events of elements, namely hyperlinks. As these hyperlinks only perform actions on the current page, and do not lead anywhere, I have been putting a href attribute of "#" in: <a href="#">My Link</a> However in some browsers this causes the page to scroll right to top which is obviously undesirable behaviour. I've tried using a blank href value, or not including one, but then the mouse does not change to the hand cursor upon hovering. What should I put in there?
