• Eclipse: Cannot install CDT because of a conflicting dependency

  my eclipse has been configured for Java and pydev, now i want to configure C/C++ development tools with Eclipse. i dont want to download the whole Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers, for it is not convenient. so i decided to install CDT in my Eclipse. Help == Install New Software, then input http://download.eclipse.org/tools/cdt/releases/indigo, waited for a while, and chose the following CDT Main Features, CDT Optional Features, and Next, then an error occurred.   I have a question very similar to this one, but I want to continuously run perfmon, during reboots and throughout the day. Further, I'd like to generate a perfmon report every 10 mins or so. The original question tells me how to run perfmon when the server is restarted, but I don't know how to make perfmon continuously run while throwing periodic files. I've tried setting it as a scheduled task that needs to be done every 10 mins, but this is too sloppy, and when the scheduled task kicks another instance, the current perfmon report writer crashes, and I get a garbage report. I'm sure I'm just missing something silly, but I don't see it. Ideas? (If it helps, I'm running Windows 7 locally, and I'm trying to set up the processes for boxes running Windows 2008.)

  I´m using JQuery Tools http://flowplayer.org/tools/ in one big project. The issues is: When I load a page using ajax all this JQuery Tools stuff stop working. I know I have to re-bind the events or use jQuery.Live but I don´t know how to do this with JQuery Tools. I need methods like $(".element").overlay(...) $(".element").tabs(...) workin live after using jQuery.load() (Ajax) Anybody know how to do this please? Thanks.

• SSRS Subscription Fails

  Our SSRS server is not executing a subscription correctly. (Only subscription we have btw) We created a subscription to export a report as an excel file to the file system. Tried running the job that gets generated, and this error happens 'EXECUTE AS LOGIN' failed for the requested login 'NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE'. The step failed. It's not the most helpful in tracking down what exactly it was trying to do. EDIT Digging further into the logs I also get these errors w3wp!extensionfactory!f!7/30/2010-14:29:26:: w WARN: The extension Report Server FileShare does not have a LocalizedNameAttribute. w3wp!extensionfactory!11!7/30/2010-14:34:48:: w WARN: The extension Report Server Email does not have a LocalizedNameAttribute.

• Pdssql.dll cannot be found

  I am attempting to open a Crystal Reports 8.5 document, and when I try to set the database to the Production data server, i get the error "Pdssql.dll cannot be found". Googling, this is a common problem, but none of the fixes I tried seem to work. This is a new computer. I do have SQL Server 2008 client tools installed, but I believe previously I had Sql Server 2005 client tools. I attempted to install the SQL Server 2005 client tools, but that didn't go through due to me having 2008 installed. I require 2008 to do my job now. Everything I search for says this is a 16bit driver, and I need to install the 2005 client tools. Unfortunately this cannot be done due to me having 2008. is there some sort of work-around I can do? I've looked in the BIOS; there's nothing there. Is there any way I can force it to go higher? Thanks :)

• Spawn a multi-threaded Java program from a Windows command line program, spawner won't end until spa

  Short version: How can I prevent a spawned Java process in Windows from blocking the spawning process from ending? Long version: I'm trying to spawn a multi-threaded Java program (Selenium RC, not that it should matter) from a program launched from the Windows command line (NAnt's <exec> task, again, not that it should matter). I'm doing it using the Windows "start" command, and the spawned process is started and runs correctly. The spawning process receives control back and finishes (NAnt says "BUILD SUCCEEDED"), but doesn't actually exit to the command line. When the spawned process finally terminates (could be hours later), the command process returns and the command line prompt occurs.   Been using the new SQL 2012 Data Tools SQL Server Database Project in VS 2010. Every time we do a schema compare we have to set the options for the current compare. This does not seem to be tied back to the global compare options you can set in Tools Options. Does anybody know where to set the 'new' global compare options. NOTE: This is the new SQL 2012 compare from Data Tools, and not the old 2005/2008 compare that comes standard with Studio 2010.

  I have recently begun using Scala. I've written a DSL in it which can be used to describe a processing pipeline in medici. In my DSL, I've made use of symbols to signify an anchor, which can be used to put a fork (or a tee, if you prefer) in the pipeline.   Beyondtrust.com published a report, somewhat recently, claiming among other quite compelling things, "90% of Critical Microsoft Windows 7 Vulnerabilities are Mitigated by Eliminating Admin Rights" Other interesting 'facts' they provide say that these are also mitigated by NOT running as a local admin: 100% of Microsoft Office vulnerabilities reported in 2009 94% of Internet Explorer and 100% of IE 8 vulnerabilities reported in 2009 BUT, reading the first page or so of the report I saw this line: A vulnerability is considered mitigated by removing administrator rights if the following sentence is located in the Security Bulletin’s Mitigating Factors section, ?Users whose accounts are configured to have fewer user rights on the system could be less impacted than users who operate with administrative user rights. could be sounds pretty weak to me so and I wondered how valid all this really is. I'm NOT trying to say it's not safer to run without admin rights, I think that is well known. I just wonder if these stats are something you would use as ammo in an argument, or use to sell a change like that (removing users as local admins) to business side? Thoughts?   We have an open beta of an app which occasionally causes the heapspace to overflow. The JVM reacts by going on a permanent vacation. To analyze this I would like to peek into the memory at the point where it failed. Java does not want me to do this. The process is still in memory but it doesn't seem to be recognized as a java process. • SQL Server Management Studio Reports: Why no open transactions?

  On a server with several hundred user connections, when I open the SQL Server 2008 SP1 Management Studio report "Database - User Statistics", the result page shows the following results: Login Name: appUser Active Sessions: 243 Active Connections: 243 Open Transactions: 374 Still, when I open the report "Database - All Transactions" on the same DB, it doesn't show any connections ("Currently, there are no transactions running for [Database Name] Database"). What gives? Is this a bug in Management Studio? This is not the only report where this kind of behavious happens... Thanks all!

• Experiences with "language converters"?

  I have read a few articles mentioning converters from one language to another. I'm a bit more than skeptical about the use of such kind of tools. Does anyone know or have experiences let's say about Visual Basic to Java or vs converters? Just one example to pick http://www.tvobjects.com/products/products.html, claims to be the "world leader" or so in that aspect, However if read this: http://dev.mysql.com/tech-resources/articles/active-grid.html There the author states: "The consensus of MySQL users is that automated conversion tools for MS Access do not work. For example, tools that translate existing Access applications to Java often result in 80% complete solutions where finishing the last 20% of the work takes longer than starting from scratch." Well we know we need 80% of the time to implement the first 80% functionality and another 80% of the time for the other 20 %.... So has anyone tried such tools and found them to be worthwhile?

  I am trying to run an ANT script through a small Java program and I keep on encountering the following error: build: Exception in thread "main" build.xml:7: Problem: failed to create task or type eclipse.refreshLocal Cause: The name is undefined. Action: Check the spelling. Action: Check that any custom tasks/types have been declared. All I had to do to make Eclipse run this build was to go to Run External Tools External Tools Configuration JRE and select "Run in the same JRE as the workspace" and then attempt to execute.   I am using IBM's Rational Application Developer. I have an ant script that contains the Java2WSDL task. When I run it via IBM, it gives compiler errors unless I include the j2ee.jar file in the classpath via the run tool (it does not pick up the jar files in the classpath in the script). However, I need to be able to call this script programmatically, and it is giving me this error: "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: org.eclipse.core.runtime.CoreException" I'm not sure which jars need to be added or where? Since a simple echo script runs, I assume that it is the j2ee.jar or another ant jar that needs to be added. I've added it to the project's buildpath, but that doesn't help. (I also have ant.jar, wsanttasks.jar, all the ant jars from the plugin, tools.jar, remoteAnt.jar, and the swt - all which are included in the buildpath when you run the script by itself.) • Grails Deployment - Fastest way to get deployed?

  Hi All, If anyone has or is running a Grails application on their server I would appreciate some details on where to go after creating the WAR. Background I chose grails because with Google App Engine and the App Engine Plugin deployment should have been trivial. This issue is that there is a bug which makes any application pretty much unusable, I wish this had been more prominent so I didn't have to get to the point of seeing the error myself before I was aware of it. The next option was EC2 and the Cloud Tools plugin, it seems Cloud Tools worked with grails 1.0 but doesn't work with the current 1.2.1 due to issues getting the JAR dependencies. It also seems that Cloud Tools has been succeeded by Cloud Foundry which is in beta, will cost extra money and has limited places (I signed up but haven't got an e-mail). Question My application is painfully trivial, it has a small load, small data requirements and doesn't need to scale past 5 users. How can I deploy my grails app as quickly and painlessly as possible? Specifically: Are there any hosting companies that have tomcat installed on their servers out of the box that I can sign up to and use that will just work? Do you know of any simple tutorials for getting a grails application deployed to EC2 without Cloud Tools? Thanks in advance, Gav Side-note: I picked grails because of good advice from SO, it should have been a very short time from development to deployed product except the tools for auto-deployment aren't that mature and I've never configured a server before.

• Android ADB has moved and Eclipse is looking in the old place

  I did an SDK update last night and it moved adb.exe. In its place it left a file called "adb_has_moved.txt" saying The adb tool has moved to platform-tools/ If you don't see this directory in your SDK, launch the SDK and AVD Manager (execute the android tool) and install "Android SDK Platform-tools" Please also update your PATH environment variable to include the platform-tools/ directory, so you can execute adb from any location. So I did all that, including the PATH and now I can start adb.exe from any DOS prompt. But I still can't start it from Eclipse (Galileo 3.52). When I try it says Location of the Android SDK has not been set up in the preferences ... which is not true. The SDK IS set up in Preferences. The real problem is at the top of the Preferences window where it says "Could not find C:\SDK\android-sdk-windows\ tools \adb.exe!" ...No kidding - the update moved it to C:\SDK\android-sdk-windows\ platform-tools. Because it's specifying a specific (wrong) path Eclipse is bypassing the PATH variable. So how do I get Eclipse to look in the right place?
