I'm just trying to get a feel for why people choose debugging or logging based on their development stack.

• Detecting when a handler couldn't be started when embedding Jetty

  I'm embedding Jetty in a similar manner as described here. When the RequestLogHandler can't open the specified logfile, it throws an exception which is unfortunately caught by org.eclipse.jetty.server.Server and swallowed (but logged first, at least). This means that there's no obvious way for me to tell if the log handler was started correctly. Is there a way that I'm missing to detect when a handler couldn't start?

  Hello All, I wrote a function in python which is used to tell me whether the two words are similar or not. but now i want to pass japanese text in my same function.It is giving error not a ascii character.I tried using utf -8 ecoding, but then it giving the same error Non-ASCII character '\xe3' in file Is there any way to do that.I cant generate the msg file for that since the 2 keyword will be not be constant.

  Hi, When executing a ajax call i received a http error code 12019. This call works most of the time, but in rare occasions i get this errorcall. I found that this error code is described as "The requested operation cannot be carried out because the handle supplied is not in the correct state." (@msdn). Can anybody tell me what this means?   hi, I did installed xampp on my macbook a day before. It worked perfectly yesterday. But today when I try to start the phpmyadmin it gives the following error: Can't create/write to file '/var/folders/Uu/UuhwtR9xE3Ozsao8ttdIWU+++TI/-Tmp-/#sql1b5_8_0.MYI' (Errcode: 13) Can anybody tell the solution for this problem.   I am running rails on a local server on windows. I installed wkhtmltoimage to C:/Sites/wkhtmltoimage Now I have to tell IMGKit where to find it, so I added a file initializers/imgkit.rb: IMGKit.configure do |config| config.wkhtmltoimage = 'C:/Sites/wkhtmltoimage' end But When I try to use IMGKit, rails tells me: No wkhtmltoimage executable found at /usr/local/bin/wkhtmltoimage But I set up a new path for it ? What do I have to do now ? Please help.

  I am using the W3C XHTML validator to check my sites and I am getting some errors on pages with FBML. Most of the cause of such errors is the "&" character. Since FBML values and attributes are generated on the fly, I have no way to encode the character properly before displaying it. • svn cat after svn del

  I have inadvertently svn-deleted a file with svn del --targets del.txt. Now, I'd like to recover that file with svn cat myPreciousFile.txt@4130 > myPreciousFile.txt, but svn gives me a warning that myPreciousFile.txt is not under version control. A svn cat -r 4130 myPreciousFile.txt > myPreciousFile.txt didn't work, either. Can someone please tell me how I'd go about recovering this file again?

This is concise and convenient, but does it have any memory and/or performance implications compared to explicitly calling the helpers that each controller actually needs?   I have an application that uses .NET 3.5SP1, but I have been having a LOT of random crashes with it. I am starting to narrow the fields of possible causes to the framework itself, where I suspect some other app is installing a lower patch version. Is there any apps in the wild, or anything I can slap together that can tell me what apps that are installed that depend on .NET to run? Their minimum required version would be nice to know also, but not necessary.
