android linear layout solution

J2me Blackberry Numeric Input

Hello, I am developing a blackberry application using j2me and LWUIT (blackberry port). Everything works great except for the TextField in numeric mode. Basically when you have focus on the TextField you have to first go into "NUMERIC" mode (by pressing alt + aA) in order to input, which is not user friendly and a problem. The proposed solution is to use a TextArea instead that allows you to open a NATIVE type input box. The problem there is that the user needs to focus the field and then press the fire button which again is unfriendly. Does anyone know of any simple solutions? The few solutions i have in mind (but not sure how to do them): 1) Capture any keypress on the TextArea and go into NATIVE mode, instead of just the fire key. 2) Put the blackberry input mode into numeric using code for the whole form. MessageBox doesn't show on mdi form after a long calculation

Hello This is a very similar problem to This one, sadly that one was never answered either. I have a MDI Main forum that hosts several children forms. One of them does a long calculation and throws an exception if an error occurs (all work is done on the same thread). I then try to inform the user of an error with an messagebox, however it doesn't appear (but steals focus from the MDI Main, so the application is completely unresponsive). The beheviour changes slightly if I call Application.DoEvents() (evil I know, but this is a last resort thing). Then the forms remain completely active and the messagebox only appears after I change active application (Alt+Tab) to something else and then back again. What can I do to make sure the messagebox will be visible? I have already tried passing both, active child and MDI Main as parameter to the MessageBox.Show method. It doesn't change the behaviour.

Best Method for Minimizable Fullscreen Window

Hi, I'm coding a short game in C++ and Win32, and I want to be able to make it in fullscreen with a fixed size. I also want the user to be able to switch focus between the game window and other windows as much as he/she wants without any weird screen glitches. So far I know of the ChangeDisplaySettings function and creating the window with the WS_POPUP style at initialization to make it fullscreen. To detect the user switching focus to other windows by way of alt+tab or otherwise, what messages should I be handling on the window's WndProc or should I be using another function? When loss of focus is detected should I only call ChangeDisplaySettings(NULL, 0); or are there other functions I should call as well? And what method should I use to handle focus back into the window? Also can anyone give me some info on how to make it work smoothly for different screen sizes? Thanks for any help.

A part of it is : <closedDeal><customer><![CDATA[ABC ]]></customer></closedDeal> The error I got is The literal string ']]>' is not allowed in element content. Error processing resource What is the correct way of using CDATA? I need CDATA because the data is read from Excel, and could contain illegal character such as ALT+ENTER whitespace. Please help. C#, WinForms: Why aren't KeyDown events chaining up to Form? I have to add event handler to each chi

As i understand it, when a button is pressed it should first invoke the Control which has focus' KeyDown Handler, then it call the KeyDown handler for any Parent controls, all the way up to the main form. The only thing that would stop the chain would be if somewhere along the chain one of the EventHandlers did: e.SuppressKeyPress = true; e.Handled = true; In my case, KeyDown events never get to the main form. I have Form - Panel - button for example. Panel doesn't offer a KeyDown Event, but it shouldn't stop it from reaching the main form right? Right now as a work around I set every single control to call an event handler I wrote. I'm basically trying to prevent Alt-F4 from closing the application and instead minimize it.

Keyboard layout for international programmers?

I think everybody who had to program using a standard German (or any other international) keyboard layout on Windows (or Mac) will complain about the conundrum of either having all special characters ( [ ] | { } / etc. ) needed for most programming languages "at the fingertip" and "losing" the language specific characters (umlauts ä ö ü etc.) on the keyboard or viceversa: having simple access to umlauts, but not to brackets etc. If you are programming in C / C++ / C# / Java / Javascript for example, it is very exhausting if you have to press Alt-Gr + 7 for every opening curly bracket. It is an ergonomic nightmare and reduces your typing efficiency. What is the best way to cope with this problem? Is there a satisfying solution? Maybe there are special layouts or keyboards which address this issue?

Rails prettyPhoto does not show photo with jquery (instead redirect to photo page)

i do all instruction for use prettyPhoto in https://github.com/hiq5/prettyphoto-rails. and i do this to show a single photo( not gallery ) =link_to image_tag(photo.photo_url(:thumb).to_s, :alt => photo.name ,:class => "img-polaroid"), photo.photo_url, :rel => 'prettyPhoto' but still redirect to photo url and show photo, and doesn't use jQuery to show it on the current page. i check it with chrome development tools, there isn't any error. i use haml to generate views (instead erb), and carrierwave to upload photos. by the way I use twitter bootstrap. any help is appreciated.

How can I put my own text hover into default Eclipse editor?

I need to put some extra information into to the standard "javadoc" hover, that shows up when you go with mouse over some token. Or I need to create a new hover showing that information while pressing some key (like alt) and then hovering (I can see that this is done e.g. with the shift key, which enables us to see the hover with sourcecode, instead of javadoc). So far I found documentation on how to create hover in your own editors, but I need to extend the default java editor. Basically I am interested in showing some e-mail information related to the classname (token) over which user is hovering. Is there any extension point that could be used for this? How can i open Thickbox from a form and feed it with data ?

I have a simple search php script, within that script there is some html and javascript to make a search input field and a button. What i am trying to do is when someone enters a search, and presses submit, thickbox opens, and the results will be displayed in the thickbox. What i have so far is the search field and button, when i press submit, it briefly shows the thickbox, and than is overloaded by the result page, but than with no search results. Keycodes of function keys with F-lock off?

Many recent keyboard from Microsoft and Logitech have a so-called F-Lock key, which toggles the function keys F1 to F12 between their traditional keycodes and new meanings that are printed onto the keys: F1=Help F2=Undo F3=Redo F4=Open ... . (See also http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/F-Lock.) This means that long-established shortcuts such as Alt+F4 no longer work if the F-lock is off, and googling shows that quite a few people are unhappy about this. So I'm wondering, what virtual key (VK) codes do the function keys send when F-lock is off? VK_F13 to VK_F24 perhaps? Or do they not trigger standard keyboard events at all? (I haven't got such a keyboard to try and find out myself, and didn't manage to dig up anything on MSDN about this.)

How to get mp3 files to play in iPhone Safari web browser?

How can I get an MP3 audio file to play in iPhone Safari (OS 3.1)? Currently, I am generating HTML e.g. <a href="file.mp3"><img src="sound.png" alt="Play audio"/></a> to play the file on clicking on the nested image. This works on Safari on OSX, but not on the iPhone. There, the content of the file is shown as text, but it does not appear to be a mime-type problem when checked with Live HTTP Headers from Firefox. I have found approaches referenced here. These require the Safari Plugins setting to be on in the preferences, which is why it did not previously work for me.

Hello, I have to insert full path to every single image/css file of my website, because of url_rewriting and I'm looking for the most officiant way to do it. Of course I could do: <img src='<?php echo $full_path; ?>/images/theImg.jpg' alt='alternative text' /> But somewhere I saw people doing it like this, or something: <img src='{full_path}/images/theImg.jpg' /> Now do you know how the second example is possible, or is it just part of some framework and can't be used in normal document? ASP.NET Repeater Causing JQuery Image Slider

I have a jquery Image slider in a content page that worked fine. Once I converted it into a asp repeater the first image of the repeater would display twice, then run normally. Any idea on why the repeater is causing this? I think I discovered that the first image link <ItemTemplate> <a href='<%#Eval("Url")%>'> <img src='<%#Eval("Image")%>' alt="Spring Break 2011" rel='<h3><%#Eval("Title")%></h3><%#Eval("Caption")%>'/></a> </ItemTemplate> I have to place class="show" in the first item only. Latex editor for windows that works with unicode

Hello, I need to write Hebrew text in Latex. I am currently working on Windows with TeXnicCenter. I was pretty happy with this tool, up until the time when I needed to write Hebrew text. My regular alt-shift just won't change the language (I even downloaded the last alpha version, which was supposed to solve the problem, but it didn't). So I'm looking for another latex editor for windows that will let me write Hebrew. Please advice. Note: I know that it is possible with Lyx, but I prefer a real Latex editor.
