  Is there a good reason to put parent::__construct($config) in the construct of a CakePHP data source I am developing? I see it being used in some of the data sources found in https://github.com/cakephp/datasources/blob/master/models/datasources/amazon_associates_source.php but not sure why. I could just do private $_config = array(); function construct($config){ $this->_config = $config; } and access my $config the same way.

  Is there a way to restrict access to a class from outside a namespace? What I want is to have a class that is only accessible to other classes inside the same namespace without having to put the namespace in it's own assembly. Is there a reason this is not possible in C#?

  Hello all, I have a python script and am wondering is there any way that I can ensure that the script run's continuously on a remote computer? Like for example, if the script crashes for whatever reason, is there a way to start it up automatically instead of having to remote desktop. Are there any other factors I have to be aware of? The script will be running on a window's machine.

  It used to be the number one reason for us to choose MSTest from others that we could access and test private methods. Now that Private accessors are deprecated in Visual Studio 2012. Does anyone know why Microsoft make such decision? Is it because it's not a good practice to test private methods? Also, if I still need to unit test my private methods, how could I do that in VS 2012 and later versions?

What I want to do is print the next value from the array each time the loop runs, next to a text string, like so: alert('value number '+myArr[i]+); But for some reason I can't get this to work.   In my application,I have an option of adding files to a list..were it will let the user to select multiple files at the same..am using CFileDialog to do tis and I enabled OFN_MULTISELECT (for multiselect)...The problem am facing is,When I try to add a shortcut file..its not taking the actual shortcut path,its reffering to the actual path.Actually I wanted to avoid shortcut file being added to my list,but every shortcut file that is being added does not have the extension ".lnk"(i dont know the reason). So,is there any way that we can neglect the shortcut file being added.

  I have added my iphone as device and associate it with provisioning. Then I download the newest provisioning and install it (I have successed added ipad as test device before). Now, in the "Organizer", I can see the iphone device but when I connect iphone device I can not find the iphone device to run my app. My software version is 4.2.1, is it the version not the latest that lead to this problem?   Each version of Visual Studio comes with a specific version of the MFC framework, but I believe MFC SDK can be downloaded separately. Since MFC is just C++, is there any reason you couldn't use the latest version with an older version of VC++... I don't mean trying to get the ribbon working in MSVC++ 6, But we're on VS2005 and some of the newer MFC features would be useful.

However, in Python, I see code like this quite often: for i in range ( 0, len ( list ) ): # stuff Is this bad practice? Should I store the result of len() in a variable and use that?

  Hi, I first learned C++ then moved to C (I know kind of backwards) and then I found a thing called iTunes U and began watching programming classes to extend my knowledge and noticed that Stanford and MIT both did not teach C or C++ as an introduction to computer programming. Then I began to wonder why they didn't begin teaching C/C++ because I thought C/C++ was more efficient than Java (which Stanford taught) and Python (which MIT taught). Or maybe there is no particular reason?
