How to add a Page to Frame using code in WPF

I have a Window where I have put a Frame. I would like to add a Page to the Frame when I click a button that is also on the Window but not in the Frame. There are several buttons in the Window and each click on a button should load a different Page in the Frame. Since I'm a total newbie on this WPF stuff it's quite possible that this approach is not the best and I have thought about replacing the Frame with a Canvas and then make UserControls instead of Pages that will be added to the Canvas. I welcome any ideas and suggestions on how to best solve this. I aiming for a functionality that is similar to the application Billy Hollis demonstrated in dnrtv episode 115. Swing- focus problem

Hi, In my application I have a frame, with toolbar (the toolbar contains some actions). I want the toolbar to be visible only when the window is focused. So, I registered a windowFocusListener on the window. The problem is- when the window is not focused and I click on the place where a tool bar action should be- the action is performed. This happens because the WindowFocusGained is called before the mouse button is released and when the mouse button released it calls the actionPerformed. Does anybody has any idea for a work around for this problem? Does anybody know how to determine wether the mouse button is clicked now?

[CSS] Margin display disparity between IE7 and FF3

Hi everyone: Refer to HTML, CSS below. Why the margin-bottom will not reflect in IE7, but in FF3? Is there any workaround for it? How to redirect to the same view using ModelAndview in Spring MVC framework

I have a page with a link. On clicking the link a page opens up in a separate window. This new page has a form. On submitting this form, some operation takes place at the server. The result of which needs to be redirected to the same page. However after the operation on using the following: return new ModelAndView("newUser"); //This view "newUser" actually maps to the popped up window. A similar new window again pops up and the message gets displayed on this new page. Any ideas as to why this behavior or how to go about this?

I started by creating a universal window based app. Starting with the iPhone version I created a UIViewController and associated nib. My App delegate: rootViewController = [[RootViewController alloc] initWithNibName:nil bundle:nil]; [window makeKeyAndVisible]; [window addSubview:rootViewController.view]; return YES; My RootViewController: - (void)viewDidLoad { [super viewDidLoad]; adBannerView = [[ADBannerView alloc] initWithFrame:CGRectZero]; [self.view addSubview:adBannerView]; } I've tried instanciating buttons instead of the adBanner and I get the same result. My RootViewController's nib has not been changed since x-code created it for me. My MainWindow_iPhone.xib also is stock. What's causing this?

Can't type after "ruby script/server" in InstantRails

I'm a newb to RoR. I'm using the book "Agile Web Development with Rails" to get started on Windows 7. In the command window, I run the following. >rails demo >cd demo >ruby script/server At this point, it boots the Mongrel server: => Booting Mongrel => Rails 2.3.5 application starting on http://0.0.0.0:3000 => Call with -d to detach => Ctrl-C to shutdown server The book goes on to tell me to run ruby script/generate controller Say but, I cannot Ctrl-C -- or type anything for that matter -- after booting the Mongrel server. Am I supposed to create the new controller in another instance of the InstantRails command window? Right now, the only way I can stop the server is closing the window in which I started the server! Please let me know if you need any other details. tia.

Chrome Extension contenteditable get and set caret position

I am creating an extension where I need to insert a link into the gmail window. I am able to create a simple extension button in the top of the window and execute code that does replaces all the links. Now, I want to do add links in the contenteditable section as I type. It seems like there should be a simple way to replace text with a link in the document object model. If this is not true I need to do three things. Insert text from the current caret position Capture the caret position. Set the caret position by its offset. I have tried using window.getSelection within the gmail context(that is a body element that is set to contenteditable and embedded inside an iframe in the gmail tab) to get the current range and position. The selection is always empty and contains no ranges regardless of whether text is selected or not.

Single click to activate last tab in windows 7 internet explorer (like FF)

Windows 7 annoyance: the jump lists are fine for hovering over the taskbar items, great go ahead and show me previews of all the open instances and maybe I'll pick the exact one I want. However this works different between IE and FF. Hovering over the FF icon just shows me the single FF window, not any of the tabs I have open. Clicking it means my FF window opens and I'm at the last tab I was on. Great, normal behavior, one click and I'm in. Hovering over the IE icon shows me all the tabs in my single IE window. Ok, but I just want to go back to my last active IE tab. I can't! I am forced to click twice to go back to any IE tab. Sure it's a minor annoyance, but as I'm developing throughout the day I find it more and more annoying. Any ideas to fix so I can just click the IE taskbar icon once and it pulls up the last tab I was on?

Transparent child control

Hello all, I'm writing a control that may have some of its parts transparent or semitransparent. Basically this control shows a png image (with alpha channel). The control's parent window has some graphics on it. Therefore, to make the png control render correctly it needs to get image of what the parent window would draw beneath it. Parent dialog might have WS_CLIPCHILDREN flag set, that means that the the parent window won't draw anything under the the png control and in this case png control won't work properly. This control has to work on Windows Mobile also, so it can't have WS_EX_TRANSPARENT

Save jQuery callback functions in a separate file

Probably I missed something, but lets say I have this: $('a.delete').click(function(){ resp=window.confirm("Are you sure you want to delete this?"); if(resp) return true; else return false; } Now, I want to save that callback function into a separate js file, because I will use it in several pages. My logic told me to do this: $('a.del').click(delete_element()); Having my js file like this: function delete_element(){ resp=window.confirm("Are you sure you want to delete this?"); if(resp) return true; else return false; } This doesn't work. Everytime my page loads, it displays the confirm window, even if I haven't clicked the link. It is clear that my logic failed this time. What am I missing?

Stringbuilder problem creating dynamic links

Hi all, I'm having an issue creating a link like "<a href="javascript:window.open('www.microsoft.com');">Visit Microsoft</a> using stringbuilder. I am adding html to a panel dynamically and I am trying to create a popup link. The problem is that for some reason the link gets "mixed up". Dynamic resize with MPlayer and PyGTK

Hi everyone; I've wrote a piece of code in python and pygtk for an embeded mplayer in a gui. I assume I use GtkSocket and the slave mode of mplayer with the -wid option. But I've got an issue, when the size of my GTK window is smaller than my stream, the stream appears to be cropped. And when the size of my window is bigger than my stream, the stream appear centred inside the widget which embed MPlayer. (a gtk.Frame but I've also try with a gtk.DrawingArea) I would like to know how I can get my stream resize dynamically depending on the window's size. I don't want to use Glade or any GUI builder. Thanks in advance for any help, and please excuse my poor english.

Qt grabWindow coordinates shifted from GetCursorPos and GetWindowRect

In Qt, when I use the QPixmap::grabWindow(hwnd,x,y,h,w) function, the coordinates are shifted slightly, when compared to the coordinates using the windows api functions GetCursorPos and GetWindowRect. i.e. (0,0) from the point of view of GetCursorPos and GetWindowRect is at the very top left of the toolbar at the top of the window. But (0,0) for QPixmap::grabWindow is more "inside" (i.e. ignoring the window frame). How can I make these 2 coordinates consistent? Especially since the user might have different thicknesses for the window frame?

The design which I have decided is: When cashier selects payment mode as 'Check' or 'Credit Card' open a pop-up. From pop-up, I am calling an Applet through JNLP which implements JPOS API to communicate with POS devices at client machine. When cashier swipes or inserts check, Applet class read them and send the information back to the pop-up window. Pop up window call the parent window, populate all the required field and close the pop-up.

firefox object height ignored when data

I have a flash video loading in a modal window. It works in others browsers but not Firefox. Firefox opens the modal window to the correct width of the object, but with no height. I have come to learn that Firefox does not recognize <param> and instead uses the data attribute. However, when I remove this attribute, the modal opens with correct height. What is going on? Hello, can anyone tell me how to view executed queries in SharePoint? I couldn't find a way to show query logs with SQL Server. As you know, SharePoint framework hides all queries from programmers. Infinite gtk warnings when I right click on the icon --CLOSED

Getting a popup help for an option in listview.

I have an interface with a listview of various options e.g 1)Asian 2) Euorpian 3)...... this listview is populated by calling JSP script that accesses this data (i.e. all options) from database. I want to have a small popup window (like any help window) to be displayed when I move mouse over( onmousemove function) any option. e.g when i put mouse over Asian then a small help sort of window display Indians,chinese,thai...etc. Can anyone suggest how to achieve this?

Are Java GUIs always slow to update or is it just me?

I've just started making my first GUI application in Java and I decided to use the NetBeans IDE to do it. I think its working fine so far, except for one problem; it seems to be slow updating the content of a window. Even in very simple windows with few controls I find that when - for example - closing or resizing a window, I get the normal window border working properly but the inside is completely see through for a second. It's not the biggest deal in the world, I just find it mildly annoying.

Better way to kill a Form after the FormClosing event is overridden to hide rather than close?

I have a simple Windows Form that hosts property controls at runtime. To keep the window and its contents alive rather than killing it by handling the FormClosing event, cancel the event and simply hide the form. That's fine but at close of the application I need to actually close the window. I implemented the below but it feels kludgey. Is there a simpler, more clever way to handle this situation? (The form's controller calls KillForm explicitly after it receives a closing event from the main window.) How to use Device Emulator to debug my WinCE application

I am working with an MFC application built on a WinCE platform in Visual Studio. I need to debug this application and I cannot do it using KITL and the hardware. I tried to use Device Emulator for this: I started a new Platform Builder Project (PDA Device, enterprise webpad). I built it after ensureing that KITL was enabled and so was kernel debugger. Once built, i set the target connectivity options as ce device, download and transport set to Device Emulator and Debugger is KdStub. Once I hit Attach to Device, the doload to target window pops up and then the RelDir window also does. However nothing happens after this and in the output window it says: PB Debugger The Kernel Debugger is waiting to connect with target. Please guide me on what I need to do to debug my application. keep open windows console after a python syntax error

File associations on my machine (winxp home) are such that a python script is directly opened with the python interpreter. If I double click on a python script a console window runs and every thing is fine - as long as there is no syntax error in the script. In that case the console window opens up for a moment but it is closed immediately. Too fast to read the error message. Of course their would be the possibility to manually open a console window and to execute the script by typing python myscript.py but I am sure that there is a more convenient (i.e. "double click based") solution.
