    I am trying to use ifconfig to turn on broadcast on my loopback interface. It currently reads: lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 16384 As you can see, no broadcast address! :( :( :( I tried this on OS/X but it did not work and it did not give any error or feedback: ifconfig lo0 broadcast 127.255.255.255 Any guru would know that? I have one server that sends one packet. I have two clients running on the same machine as the server. I need them to pick up the packet WITHOUT having to force the server to send it twice.

I read this question on stackoverflow, concurred with the chosen answer, and have attempted to implement the algorithm using a console app in C# using a simple LINQ expression. My question is: how do I translate the "var result" of the lambda expression into a usable object that I can then print the result?     Here's my situation; I'm setting up a test harness that will, from a central client, launch a number of virtual machine instances and then execute commands on them via SSH. The virtual machines will have previously unused hostnames and IP addresses, so they won't be in the ~/.ssh/known_hosts file on the central client. The problem I'm having is that the first SSH command run against a new virtual instance always comes up with an interactive prompt: The authenticity of host '[hostname] ([IP address])' can't be established. RSA key fingerprint is [key fingerprint]. Are you sure you want to continue connecting (yes/no)? Is there a way that I can bypass this and get the new host to be already known to the client machine, maybe by using a public key that's already baked into the virtual machine image ? I'd really like to avoid having to use Expect or whatever to answer the interactive prompt if I can.

    Hello guys. Just want to know if there is a way to detect how many times a user has clicked a button by using Jquery. My main application has a button that can add input fields depend on the users. He/She can adds as many input fields as they need. When they submit the form, The add page will add the data to my database. My current idea is to create a hidden input field and set the value to zero. Every time a user clicks the button, jquery would update the attribute of the hidden input field value. Then the "add page" can detect the loop time. See the example below. I just want to know if there are better practices to do this.     In my program I have a table that, when loaded, has jQuery add some styles/classes to the table cells and table headers. Everything works fine until rows are added via functionality on the rest of the page. Instead of adding the classes to the table cell during addition, is it possible to "listen" or fire some event that checks to see if child elements were added to the table. Essentially, I want something functionally equivalent to this: $("#table td").live("ready", function(){ // do something }); but the live/ready won't work on a table cell... Any ideas?

    I am trying to make a C# Excel add in change the parameters of an array formula in-place; i.e. do the same as a user modifying an array formula and hitting ctrl-shift-enter. Setting the activeCell.FormulaArray property does not achieve this; it throws a 'You cannot change part of an array' error. Does anyone know how I can achieve this? A solution that also works in VBA would be brilliant. I've tried creating some logic that 'walks' to the perimeter of the array formula and deletes it first, but it doesn't account for adjacent array formulas and I believe this is unnecessarily drastic.

    I am a Rails novice and I'm creating an application that I'd love some help on. The app is for social reading. It enables a user to highlight a passage from a text then have that passage saved and bolded into the view for later reading by anyone else. I have no problem creating an if statement on whether a certain string of text is in a passage but how do I add a class to that string and have a group of these passages absorbed back into the view.     I would like to create a few static subdomains like: mycategory.mydomain.com in a rather small website and would like it to point to the folder: mydomain.com/mycategory without showing such redirection in browser address bar.     I need to grab every file in a folder and shove it into a RAR archive. This is my current method: "C:\Program Files\WinRAR\Rar.exe" a -r -md2m -s -m5 -ma4 -t ..\Releases\vCommands.rar bin\ ... Where bin is my folder. I tried this too, even though it is for another program, and the results are the same. To be clear, here's a picture: To the top-left, in the .rar file, there is the bin directory which contains all the files. To the bottom-right, in the .7z file, all those files are in the archive root. What I need is shoving all those files in the .rar archive root, instead of a folder, without having to execute my batch file inside that bin folder.

If there is a chance to modify the bookmarklets by hosting them myself I'd instantly do it, but I found no solution so far.

    I'm a windows user, and I'm learning C. I use Codeblocks and visual c++ 2008 express at home to write simple C command line programs (I'm a beginner) and I find really useful when codeblocks adds a few lines at the end with the time it takes (example: "Process returned 0 (0x0) execution time : 6.848 s"). I want to add this functionality to the .exe so I can 'benchmark' or 'test' the program on a few computers. I tried using time(NULL) but it only works with 1 second precision. I also found very interesting answers here (I'm actually looking for the same thing): http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2173323/calculating-time-by-the-c-code The solution proposed by Mark Wilkins, works fine on visual c++ 2008 express on my windows 64 bit PC, but the .exe does not work anywhere else. Am I doing something wrong? I would like a method to count elapsed wall time for my programs, that must have 32bit compatibility. Thanks in advance!

  • Tool to automatically add tracing or instrumentation to an .NET app?

    I have a .NET app which runs once a day. Sometimes there's a logical error somewhere which occurs randomly. Is there a tool like Eqatec's Tracer which automatically injects instrumentation in the code and logs everything to a file? The issue with Eqatec's Tracer is that it opens a window on the machine and it doesn't seem to log. My issue rarely occurs and I need to keep all logs for a long time. I don't want to change the source code and add logging statements all over the place. I am aware of PostSharp & Logfaces.
