In my current project I'm using NHibernate and NInject 2 and I was wondering if it's possible to solve transaction handling using "Ninject.Extensions.Interception" and similar [Transaction] type attributes? • Does MS PnP Unity Scan for Assemblies Like StructureMap?

  In Using StructureMap 2.5 to scan all assemblies in a folder, we can see that StructureMap uses AssembliesFromPath() to explicitly look for types to resolve. What is the equivalent of this in Microsoft Unity? Because Unity is such a generic term, searching for documents about this online is not that easy. Update: Unity has something called an Assembly Matching Rule but its description does not communicate to me that it scans folders.

  I understand basically how IoC frameworks work, however one thing I don't quite get is how code-based config is supposed to work. With XML I understand how you could add a new assembly to a deployed application, then change the config in XML to include it. If the application is already deployed (i.e., compiled in some form) then how can code changes be made without recompiling? Or is that what people do, just change config in code and recompile?

Parents table has ssn, and fathersbirthcountry I'm trying to output the SSNs of all people who have the same countryofbirth as their fathersbirthcountry and also have same currentcountry as fathersbirthcountry.   Hi, I am looking for some examples of how to do model binding in ASP.NET MVC2 for COMPLEX objects. All the exmples I can find are of simple objects with no child collections or child objects. If I have an Expense object with a child ExpensePayment object. In rails, child objects are rendered with the HTML name attributes like this: expense[expense_payment][net] Rails uses fields_for to render child objects.   XmlElement has an "Order" attribute which you can use to specify the precise order of your properties (in relation to each other anyway) when serializing using XmlSerializer. Is there a similar thing for XmlAttribute?   In Asp.Net MVC 2.0, at least in the beta, you could decoration your model classes with data annotation attributes and enable client side validation that leverages that criteria defined in your model data annotation attibutes. Is there anything similar for Java Spring MVC 3.0? Is it possible to inject a component into the response pipeline that can inspect the model's annotated properties and render client side validation logic to complement the server side validation logic that is invoked prior to the controller handling the request?

  I have a .net 4 application that uses a Com Dll to send SMS messages. I used TlbImp to create the interop assembly and that is what is referenced in the application. When I try to create an instance of this class, it takes a really long time (2-5 seconds). I ran performance profile in VS 2010 and the call that takes the longest by far is System.Activator.CreateInstance(). I am looking for tips on how to debug or gotchas with using Com Interop.

• Is there any reason to prefer UTF-16 over UTF-8?

  Examining the attributes of UTF-16 and UTF-8, I can't find any reason to prefer UTF-16. However, checking out Java and C#, it looks like strings and chars there default to UTF-16. I was thinking that it might be for historic reasons, or perhaps for performance reasons, but couldn't find any information. Anyone knows why these languages chose UTF-16? And is there any valid reason for me to do that as well?

• Null reference to DataContext when testing an ASP.NET MVC app with NUnit

  I have an ASP.NET MVC application with a separate project added for tests. I know the plusses and minuses of using the connection to the database when running unit tests, and I still want to use it. Yet, every time when I run the tests with the NUnit tool, they all fail due to my Data Context being null. I heard something about having a separate config file for the tests assembly, but i am not sure whether I did it properly, or whether that works at all.
