  • How do you find a functions virtual call address in assembly?

    I've googled around but i'm not sure i am asking the right question or not and i couldn't find much regardless, perhaps a link would be helpful. I made a c++ program that shows a message box, then I opened it up with Ollydbg and went to the part where it calls MessageBoxW. The call address of MessageBoxW changes each time i run the app as windows is updating my Imports table to have the correct address of MessageBoxW. So my question is how do i find the virtual addres of MessageBoxW to my imports table and also how can i use this in ollydbg? Basically I'm trying to make a code cave in assembly to call MessageBoxW again. I got fairly close once by searching the executable with a hex editor and found the position of the call, and I think I found the virtual address. But when i call that virtual address in olly and saved it to the executable, the next time i opened it the call was replaced with a bunch of DB xyz (which looked like the virtual address but why did the call get removed? Sorry if my terminology is off as i'm new to this so i'm not quite sure what to call things.

  • Wrong getBounds() on LineScaleMode.NONE

    I have write a simple example that adds a canvas and draw a rectangle with stroke size 20 scale mode none. The problem is that if I call getBounds() first time I will get a correct result but after I call scale(); the getBounds() function will give me a wrong result. It will take in cosideration the stroke but stroke has scalemode to none and on the screen nothing happens but in the result I will have a x value smaller.   • How to resolve CGDirectDisplayID changing issues on newer multi-GPU Apple laptops in Core Foundation

    In Mac OS X, every display gets a unique CGDirectDisplayID number assigned to it. You can use CGGetActiveDisplayList() or [NSScreen screens] to access them, among others. Per Apple's docs: A display ID can persist across processes and system reboot, and typically remains constant as long as certain display parameters do not change. On newer mid-2010 MacBook Pro's, Apple started using auto-switching Intel/nVidia graphics. Laptops have two GPU's, a low-powered Intel, and a high-powered nVidia. Previous dual-GPU laptops (2009 models) didn't have auto-GPU switching, and required the user to make a settings change, logoff, and then logon again to make a GPU switch occur. Even older systems only had one GPU. There's an issue with the mid-2010 models where CGDirectDisplayID's don't remain the same when a display switches from one GPU to the next. For example: Laptop powers on. Built-In LCD Screen is driven by Intel chipset. Display ID: 30002 External Display is plugged in. Built-In LCD Screen switches to nVidia chipset. It's display ID changes: 30004 External Display is driven by nVidia chipset. ...at this point, the Intel chipset is dormant... User unplugs External Display. Built-In LCD Screen switches back to Intel chipset. It's display ID changes back to original: 30002 My question is, how can I match an old display ID to a new display ID when they alter due to a GPU change? Thought about: I've noticed that the display ID only changes by 2, but I don't have enough test Mac's available to determine if this is common to all new MacBook Pro's, or just mine. Kind of a kludge if "just check for display ID's which are +/-2 from one another" works, anyway. Tried: CGDisplayRegisterReconfigurationCallback(), which notifies before-and-after when displays are going to change, has no matching logic. Unfortunately, it does not return YES if GPU's have changed for a monitor. I can, theoretically, compared just the DisplayProductID and DisplayVendorID keys, but I'm writing end-user software, and am worried of a situation where users have two or more identical monitors plugged in.   • power manger keeps on shuting down the display even when i state in the power manger to never do that.

    i'm probably missing something here, i'm using the default ubuntu power manger, i setup it like that: on AC: no screen dimming when ideal. never put computer to sleep. never put display to sleep. on battery i kept the default setting. and still ubuntu does what ever it likes :\ , after 15 min it puts the display to sleep. any one having the same problem and found a way to bypass it? im using eee pc with ubuntu 10.10 desktop.

  • Will Google harm my ad's rating if my display URL in adwords does not exist?

    I have a service in a very big city, and to make my ads stand out, I display the name of the neighborhood in the display URL, although the actual URL is always the same page with my services for any neighborhood. Will google decrease my rating for this? In a different note, you can also express your ideas about if it's sensible to do this or not, ie, the client might feel I'm deceiving them. Although this will be subjective, unless there is some scientific study. Thank you!

  • Can a local multiplayer iOS game display differently for each device?

    I've seen games which display different data for two devices, but not more than two. If possible, can it be accomplished using GameKit? EDIT: More specifically, I was thinking local multiplayer via bluetooth or wi-fi on an iOS device. Most games I've seen display the same screen synchronized across all of the devices. I understand games that network across the internet do this, often using a server, but I haven't seen any examples of a 3+ device local multiplayer iOS game. I just want to make sure it wasn't some kind of limitation.

  • Google Chrome Browser does not display the images from Local network or local host? [migrated]

    While developing and testing a site on local network I have noticed that while IE/FireFox would display the images coming from URL's like "http:\mypc" or "http:\localhost" or ip adress on the netwrok , google chrome on Galaxy, Windows Machine, or google Android will not display the images. After having burned too many hours trying various CSS, image src tag, html document description tricks, I have given up. During my search I found (and lost) the link to chrome forums regarding this issue that seemed to say it is just so by users. Anyone has any more information on weather it is possible to view images on local host/computer name on netwrok or ip adress?

  • How can I operate on the active X display using a command in the console?

    I have problems where compiz freezes and I have to switch to another console(ctrl+alt+F1) to restart. But it would be easier if I could just do "$ compiz --replace" in the other console and not have to lose work or anything. But when I do this it says it can't open the display, makes sense because the display is open in console 7. Is there any way I can easily redirect a command to another console for it to be run there? Like for instance, be in console 1 and execute "$ compiz --replace" on console 7?

First time when invike call , application can get respond of every event like call initiated , call connected, call disconnected and shows respected custom screens. --After call disconnected , it shows the custom call history of my application. --Now from my application when user click back button, it shows device call logs. --Now on back it will return control to my application from where user can initiate call. --But this time, When user invoke call from application ,phone listener is added but it shows device call screens not mine custom call screens.Phone listener not responding this time.

    I own a domain containing a trademarked word. I don't want to get into trouble with the trademark owner so my plan is to use the domain to display information (wiki-style) about the service the trademark owner provides. My question is whether I can display ads on this website to make money. For example, let's say I own Google.org (Google being a trademark). On this domain I would write about the real Google (history, business etc.) Can I get into trouble for having ads on this page including ones that promote other search engines (Yahoo, Bing, etc.).

  • Verizon HTC Eris - No sound on incoming phone call after 2.1 droid upgrade. Help!?

    Has anyone had the following issue? I've had several issues as well: No sound when call connects, ringing or people talking. Apps would force close like weather. I did call HTC support and they had me go into Menu, Settings, Manage Applications and then clear the cache of the problem app. They also had me clear the cache once the browser was open and then do a soft reset (power off the phone and take the battery out for 15 seconds) This did fix some issues, but I am constantly turning my phone on and off to get sound back on call or to make the assigned ringtones work. There's no rhyme or reason as to why they stop working... Anyone else tried anything different??? Related problem statement... http://community.htc.com/na/htc-forums/android/f/32/p/2601/10344.aspx#10344 My wife and I are most concerned about the incoming call issue.

    Using Powerpoint viewer (2010), I want to show a Powerpoint show on my secondary display, i.e. the projector, not on my laptop screen. However, Powerpoint viewer always does full screen presentations on the primary display, even if I move the Powerpoint viewer program to the secondary display. Powerpoint and multiple monitors shows how to configure which display a Powerpoint presentation is shown on for the full version of Powerpoint. But how do I do this for Powerpoint viewer? One workaround is to clone monitors rather than having separate monitors displaying different things, but I'm still wondering if there's a better way.

  • Is there an IE8 setting for "minimum font size" to display?

    When I look at our website in IE8 the text we have set to display smaller doesn't display smaller. But when I use BrowserShots.org it shows IE8 renderings with the smaller text appropriately smaller. So I'm thinking that there must be some setting in IE8 for "minimum font size to display". It's not the the TextSize (set to Medium) or Zoom setting (I set/reset zoom to 100%). It's something else. Any ideas?

If I try to call it like this, I receive an error: [self functionToBeCalled:]; But, if I try to call it like this (cheating a bit, I think), it works fine: [self functionToBeCalled:0]; What is the proper way to call it though?
