• Why do I get "file is not of required architecture" when I try to build my app on an iphone?

• VERY simple C program won't compile with VC 64

Specifically, it sais "error LNK2019: unresolved external symbol printf referenced in function main". As far as I understand this, it can not link to printf, right? Obviously, I have Microsoft Visual C++ Compiler 2008 (Standard enu) x86 and x64 installed and am using the 64-bit flavor of Windows (7). What is the problem here?

• Is there any limit to recursion in lisp?

  I enjoy using recursion whenever I can, it seems like a much more natural way to loop over something then actual loops. I was wondering if there is any limit to recursion in lisp? Like there is in python where it freaks out after like 1000 loops? Could you use it for say, a game loop? Testing it out now, simple counting recursive function. Now at 7000000! Thanks alot

Now I'm trying inject this file location from spring inside bean from this class and I specify the init-method of this class. But I get error cannot find the specified file as if its not on a classpath but it is inside war file? I'm building the project with maven and I put file in src/main/resources This is the error I get when trying to read file : Error: src\main\resources\ids.txt (The system cannot find the path specified) That is when I tried this : FileInputStream fstream = new FileInputStream("src\\main\\resources\\ids.txt"); how to reference the properly from the classpath? C implementation took about a second, Haskell — about 1 min 10 sec. I have also profiled the Haskell application: Compile for profiling: C:\Temp ghc -prof -auto-all -O --make Main Profile: C:\Temp Main.exe +RTS -p and got these results. This is a pseudocode of the algorithm: procedure bubbleSort( A : list of sortable items ) defined as: do swapped := false for each i in 0 to length(A) - 2 inclusive do: if A[i] > A[i+1] then swap( A[i], A[i+1] ) swapped := true end if end for while swapped end procedure I wonder if it's possible to make Haskell implementation work faster without changing the algorithm (there's are actually a few tricks to make it work faster, but neither implementations have these optimizations)

  Hello, A DAS box is attached to my linux box using LSI SCSI HBA. Volume is properly detected on the linux box and filesystem is created using mkfs.ext2 /dev/sdc #No partition table I can not mount the volume using mount/dev/sdc /mnt/temp -t ext3 But I can mount it using mount /dev/sdc /mnt/temp -t ext3 -o loop Can anybody please tell me what "-o loop" option does internally? • JSP Document/JSPX: what determines how tabs/space/linebreaks are removed in the output?

  I've got a "JSP Document" ("JSP in XML") nicely formatted and when the webpage is generated and sent to the user, some linebreaks are removed. Now the really weird part: apparently the "main" .jsp always gets all its linebreak removed but for any subsequent .jsp included from the main .jsp, linebreaks seems to be randomly removed (some are there, others aren't). For example, if I'm looking at the webpage served from Firefox and ask to "view source", I get to see what is generated. So, what determines when/how linebreaks are kept/removed? This is just an example I made up... Can you force a .jsp to serve this: <body><div id="page"><div id="header"><div class="title">... or this: <body> <div id="page"> <div id="header"> <div class="title">... ? I take it that linebreaks are removed to save on bandwidth, but what if I want to keep them? And what if I want to keep the same XML indentation as in my .jsp file? Is this doable? EDIT Following skaffman's advice, I took a look at the generated .java files and the "main" one doesn't have lots of out.write but not a single one writing tabs nor newlines. Contrary to that file, all the ones that I'm including from that main .jsp have lots of lines like: out.write("\t...\n"); So I guess my question stays exactly the same: what determines how tabs/space/linebreaks are included/removed in the output?

• How can I ensure my programmatic uploads are done in the correct order?

  In our application, we store two copies of a file - an approved one and an unapproved one. Both track their versions separately. When the unapproved is then approved, all of its versions are added as new versions to the approved file. To do this properly, my code has to upload each version separately into the approved folder, and update the item each time with that version's information. For some reason, though, this doesn't always work properly. In my latest scenario, the latest version was uploaded first, and then all of the remaining versions were uploaded afterwards. However, my code explicitly is supposed to upload the other versions first, that's the order I wrote it in. Why is this happening? And if it is possible, how do I ensure that the versions are uploaded in the correct order? Clarification - It's not a problem with the enumeration - I'm getting the previous versions in the correct order. What is happening is that the final version, which is written after the loop, is being uploaded before the loop. Which really doesn't make any sense to me.   All, I'm going through the Friedman & Felleisen book "A Little Java, A Few Patterns". I'm trying to type the examples in DrJava, but I'm getting some errors. I'm a beginner, so I might be making rookie mistakes. If I precede each by ALittleJava., I get another error in the main, i.e., an enclosing instance that contains ALittleJava.ManhattanPt is required I've tried to find ressources on the 'net, but the book must have a pretty confidential following and I couldn't find much. • how to keep a nativewindow on top

  I need to keep a NativeWindow I am creating on top of the main window of the application. Currently I am using alwaysInFront = true, which is not limited to the windows in the application. I can successfully synchronize the minimize/restore/move/resize actions, so the top window behaves appropriately in those cases. Even though using this option has the drawback that if I alt-tab to other application the window goes on top of the other application. Because of the above I am trying to get it to work without using the alwaysInFront. I have tried using orderInFrontOf and orderToFront, which gets it in place but when I click an area in the main window the top one becomes hidden i.e. air makes it the top one. I have tried capturing activate/deactivate events but it only happens on the first click, so on the second click the top window becomes hidden again. I also tried making the top window active when the main one becomes active, but that causes the main one to loose focus and I can't click on anything. Ps. • How to push this view controller ?

  Hello all, I am caught in a strange requirement .See the following view hierarchy and scenario . I have a tab bar application in which I have three tabs . In first tab I am showing some content with a small image title and date (uitableview in navigation controller). In the detail view of that controller there are more buttons that shows different sorts of detail like gallery button and , more details button and some , more button . On tapping each button I will push each individual view controller in the main navigation controller . Now on the horizontal orientation I am showing same list of content but in the cover flow ( in modal view controller ) fashion like the ipod application . On tapping any image we will show the same buttons like gallery and more details and tapping on it will show the new controller with the following code : UINavigationController *modalNavController = [[UINavigationController alloc] initWithRootViewController:myPhotoController]; UIBarButtonItem *backButton = [[UIBarButtonItem alloc] initWithTitle:@"Back" style:UIBarButtonItemStyleBordered target:self action:@selector(backButtonPressed)]; myPhotoController.navigationItem.leftBarButtonItem = backButton; [backButton release]; if([self.modalViewController isViewLoaded]){ [self dismissModalViewControllerAnimated:YES]; } modalNavController.navigationBar.barStyle = UIBarStyleBlackOpaque; [self presentModalViewController:modalNavController animated:YES]; [modalNavController release]; All this is working nicely . but when I get back the device in vertical orientation . the main modal controller will be dismissed and all the containing modal controller also will be dismissed if they are open or not . Instead of this what I want is If chooses an item in the coverflow and then if chooses gallery and if I put the device in vertical orientaion the gallery should be in the navigation hierarchy that drove me to the main list and gallery should be in horizonatal fashion . So what I want to do is that just to push the gallery controller in the main navigation hierarchy instead of showing from a madal controller . If someone wants reference then see the application "net a porter" I want to do like that . Just tell me how the controller hierarchy is working in that app . I need the help . Thanks

• R: disentangling scopes

  Hi, Right now, in my R project, I have functions1.R with doFoo() and doBar(), functions2.R with other functions, and main.R with the main program in it, which first does source('functions1.R'); source('functions2.R'), and then calls the other functions. I've been starting the program from the R GUI in Mac OS X, with source('main.R'). This is fine the first time, but after that, the variables that were defined the first time through the program are defined for the second time functions*.R are sourced, and so the functions get a whole bunch of extra variables defined. I don't want that! I want an "undefined variable" error when my function uses a variable it shouldn't! Twice this has given me very late nights of debugging! So how do other people deal with this sort of problem? Is there something like source(), but that makes an independent namespace that doesn't fall through to the main one? Making a package seems like one solution, but it seems like a big pain in the butt compared to e.g. Python, where a source file is automatically a separate namespace. Any tips? Thank you!

• Why a "private static" is not seen in a method?

  I have a class with the following declaration of the fields: public class Game { private static String outputFileName; .... } I set the value of the outputFileName in the main method of the class. I also have a write method in the class which use the outputFileName. I always call write after main sets value for outputFileName. But write still does not see the value of the outputFileName. It say that it's equal to null. Could anybody, pleas, tell me what I am doing wrong? • Agilent E4426B signal generator locks up during multiple GPIB *SAV operations

  I have a test fixture with an Agilent E4426B RF signal generator connected to a PC via a National Instrument Ethernet-to-GPIB bridge. My software is attempting to sanitize the instrument by presetting it and then saving the current state to all of the memory locations writable via the standard SCPI command "*SAV x,y". The loop works to a point, but eventually the instrument responds with an error and continuously displays the "L" icon on the front display and a "Remote preset" message at the bottom. At that point it won't respond to any more remote commands and I have to either cycle power or press LOCAL, then PRESET at which point it takes about 3 minutes to finish presetting. At that point the "L" icon is still present and and the next GPIB command sent to the instrument causes it to report a -113 error (undefined header) in the instrument error queue. I fired up NI spy to see what was happening, and found that the error was happening at the same point in the loop - "*SAV 6,2" in this case. From NI Spy: Send (0, 0x0017, "*SAV 6,2", 8 (0x8), NLend (0,0x01)) Process ID: 0x00000520 Thread ID: 0x00000518 ibsta:0xc168 iberr: 6 ibcntl: 2(0x2) And here's the code from the instrument driver: int CHP_E4426b::Erase() { if ((m_StatusCode = Initialize()) != GPIB_SUCCESS) // basically just sends "*RST" return m_StatusCode; m_SaveState = "*SAV %d, %d"; for (int i=0; i < 10; i++) for (int j=0; j < 100; j++) { sprintf(m_CmdString, m_SaveState, j, i); if ((m_StatusCode = Send(m_CmdString, strlen(m_CmdString))) != GPIB_SUCCESS) return m_StatusCode; } return GPIB_SUCCESS; } I tried putting a small Sleep() delay (10-20 ms) at the end of the inner loop, and to my surprise it caused the error to show up earlier rather than later. 10 ms caused the loop to error out at 44,1 and 20 ms was even sooner. I've already eliminated faulty cabling or the instrument as the culprit. This same type of sequence works without any error on a higher end signal generator, so I'm tempted to chalk this up to a bug in the instrument's firmware.

  I have created my jar file in the following folder: /usr/local/bin/niidle.jar And I have one jarfile which is in the following folder /Projects/EnwelibDatedOct13/Niidle/lib/hector-0.6.0-17.jar And this file 'hector-0.6.0-17.jar' I have to include in MANIFEST.MF in jar. And when I mention class path in MANIFEST.MF as follows: Manifest-Version: 1.0 Main-Class: com.ensarm.niidle.web.scraper.NiidleScrapeManager Class-Path: /Projects/EnwelibDatedOct13/Niidle/lib/hector-0.6.0-17.jar When I run this using command: java -jar /usr/local/bin/niidle.jar It works properly..
