  • Access parent class from custom attribute

    Hi, Is it possible to access a parent class from within an attribute. For example I would like to create a DropDownListAttribute which can be applied to a property of a viewmodel class in MVC and then create a drop down list from an editor template. I am following a similar line as Kazi Manzur Rashid here. He adds the collection of categories into viewdata and retrieves them using the key supplied to the attribute. I would like to do something like the below, public ExampleDropDownViewModel { public IEnumerable<SelectListItem> Categories {get;set;} [DropDownList("Categories")] public int CategoryID { get;set; } } The attribute takes the name of the property containing the collection to bind to. I can't figure out how to access a property on the parent class of the attribute. Does anyone know how to do this? Thanks

As a simple example suppose I have the following gwt class: public class Simple { public static void showWindow() { Window.alert("Hello from the iframe"); } } I create an html host page called "iFrameHost.html" that can run the function above. Then in an unrelated GWT module on a different page I call: Frame iFrame = new Frame("iFrameHost.html"); RootPanel.get().add(iFrame); How do I now call the showWindow() method from the parent page?

  • SQL: Join Parent - Child tables

    I'm building a simple review website application and need some help with SQL Query. There are 3 tables (Topics, Comments, Users). I need a SQL query to select the data from all 3 tables. The 'Topics' table is the parent and the 'Comments' table contains the child records (anywhere from zero to 100 records per parent. The third table 'Users' contains the user information for all users. Here are the fields for the 3 tables: Topics (topicID, strTopic, userID) Comments (commentID, topicID, strComment, userID) Users (userID, userName) I tried: SELECT * FROM Topics Inner Join Comments ON Topics.topicID = Comments.topicID Inner Join Users ON Topics.userID = Users.userID But this does not work correctly because there are multiple topics and the User info is not joined to the Comments table. Any help would be appreciated.

  • drupal display submenu when parent has been selected

    I've have a menu structure that has a depth of 3 levels on a drupal 6 CMS. When I click on a level 1 that has children, the level 2 menu items display fine. If the level 2 has children, it is not showing the level 3. If I check the expanded box the level 3 is displayed however, it displays all the time irrespective of the level 2 that has been selected. It seems to display whenever it's parent level 1 is selected. For further information, the menu items are a mixture of custom links & content links. i.e. Links I've enetered manually when creating the menu and others generated by when creating a node or view display. All I want is to show the children if there are any for the selected parent. Am I missing something fundamental here? Thanks Steve

  • C Named pipe (fifo). Parent process gets stuck

    I want to make a simple program, that fork, and the child writes into the named pipe and the parent reads and displays from the named pipe.   • Virtual String Tree - Display subnode when parent node is hidden

    Is there a way to show subnode if the parent node is hidden in the Virtual String Tree ? I have some tasks in the tree structure and I wish to display only tasks which belongs to the current user as the list, but from all levels. What I've done is the function to display a list, which hides tree buttons, tree lines, sets the fixed indent and enable toShowHiddenNodes option. Then in this function I iterate through the whole tree (all levels) and hide nodes which doesn't belong to the current user IsVisible[Node] := False and show those which belongs him IsVisible[Node] := True, but the subnodes which should be displayed are invisible when their parent is hidden. VT.TreeOptions.PaintOptions - toShowButtons - toShowTreeLines + toFixedIndent + toShowHiddenNodes

  • MovieClip progress bar width is too small relative to parent container

    I am new to ActionScripot and Flash and I am stuck with the following problem: On the stage I have a movieclip (Container, originally 200px width) and inside it with a progressbar movieclip (originally 700px width), scaled with Free Transform Tool to fit the parent container. The width of the container changes run-time while resizing the scene. In ActionScript I have a function which should set the progress bar width according to a calculated percentage value: private function updateProgress(event:TimerEvent):void { var barWidth:int = _container.width; var progress:Number = _stream.time / _stream.duration * barWidth; _progressBar.width = progress; } My problem is that the progressBar even at full time (100%) is only at 1/4 of the parent container. I assume that it comes from the symbols original size. Can I correct this programatically, or I must redesign it with the "designer"? I hope I made clear my problem, as I said, I'm new in Flash.   • Is it possible for parent window to notice if child window has been closed ???

    I have parent window (opener) and child (popup) ---------- -------------- | | | | | parent | -----> opens popup | child | | | | | ----------- -------------- Let's say, in parent page, I have js function hello() In order for child to call parent's hello() when the child window is closed and also pass an argument, I can do, window.close(); window.opener.hello(someArgument); This will close the window and also call parent's hello(); But what if I don't want to have the code window.opener.hello() in child page? I mean I want the code to be in parent page only One thing I can think of is: Somewhat parent knows when the child is closed (event listenr??? not sure in js) But in such case how to receive the argument? (i.e. some data back from the child)

    I get the folowing error in my Silverlight application. But i cant figure out what control it is that is the problem. If i debug it don't break on anything in the code, it just fails in this framework callstack with only framework code. Is there any way to get more information on what part of a Silverlight app that is the problem in this case.   • Why does Gnumake from parent directory behave differently?

    I am stumped as to why when I do a gnumake from the parent directory it behaves incorrectly, whereas, if I cd to the subdirectory and do gnumake it works correctly. In the parent makefile, I have a rule like this: .PHONY: zlib-1.2.5 zlib-1.2.5: @ echo Issuing $(MAKE) in $@ ... pushd zlib-1.2.5; make; popd Which gives different result than doing the same from the toplevel pushd zlib-1.2.5; make; popd There is a something from the parent makefile that is making its way into the subdirectory makefile and causing it to behave incorrectly, but I don't know how to find it.     Question: How can I determine all processes in the child's Process Tree to kill them? I have an application, written in C# that will: Get a set of data from the server, Spawn a 3rd party utility to process the data, then Return the results to the server. This is working fine. But since a run consumes a lot of CPU and may take as long as an hour, I want to add the ability to have my app terminate its child processes. Some issues that make the simple solutions I've found elsewhere are: My app's child process "A" (InstallAnywhere EXE I think) spawns the real processing app "B" (a java.exe), which in turns spawns more children "C1".."Cn" (most of which are also written in Java). There will likely be multiple copies of my application (and hence, multiple sets of its children) running on the same machine. The child process is not in my control so there might be some "D" processes in the future. My application must run on 32-bit and 64-bit versions of MSWindows. On the plus side there is no issue of data loss, a "clean" shutdown doesn't matter as long as the processes end fairly quickly.
