• Match d-M-Y with javascript regex how?

  Hi, my date formatting in PHP is d-M-Y and I'm trying to match the dates with a javascript regex: s.match(new RegExp(/^(\d{1,2})(\-)(\w{3})(\-)(\d{4})$/)) To be used with the jQuery plugin, tablesorter. The problem is it's not working and I'm wondering why not. I tried removing the dashes in my date() formatting (d M Y) and tried the ff and it worked: s.match(new RegExp(/^\d{1,2}[ ]\w{3}[ ]\d{4}$/)); My question is what is the correct regex if I'm using dashes on PHP's date() i.e. d-M-Y?   I'd like to be able to match this entire line (to highlight this sort of thing in vim): Fri Mar 18 14:10:23 ICT 2011. I'm trying to do it by finding a line that contains ICT 20 (first two digits of the year of the year), like this: syntax match myDate /^*ICT 20*$/, but I can't get it working. I'm very new to regex. Basically what I want to say: find a line that contains "ICT 20" and can have anything on either side of it, and match that whole line. Is there an easy way to do this?

  I'm working on a sports website and need to convert the server's match start time to local match start time. After much googling, I figured the fastest and most accurate way is to get the GMT offset value in JavaScript. The trouble is, I can't pass the GMT offset value to PHP. I've tried using both the PHP session and cookie variables, but both are always empty. The website doesn't require a user account, so there isn't any stored GMT value in the database. I'm trying to auto-detect each user's local timezone every time he/she visits the website, and then calculate the local match start time based on the timezone offset. Can someone please advise me?   I am trying to match the sub domain of an url using http://([a-z0-9]*.)?example.com/.* which works perfectly for these cases. http://example.com/index.html http://test.example.com/index.html http://test1.example.com/index.html http://www.example.com/122/index.html But the problem is it matches for this URL too. http://www.test.com/?q=http://example.com/index.html if an URL with another domain has the URL in path it matches.Can any one tell me how to match for current domain only. getting the host will work but i need to match full URL.

• Regex to *not* match any characters

  I know it is quite some weird goal here but for a quick and dirty fix for one of our system we do need to not filter any input and let the corruption go into the system. My current regex for this is "\^.*" The problem with that is that it does not match characters as planned ... but for one match it does work. The string that make it not work is ^@jj (basically anything that has ^ ... ). What would be the best way to not match any characters now ? I was thinking of removing the \  but only doing this will transform the "not" into a "start with" ...

  I need to match html tags(the whole tag), based on the tag name. For script tags I have this: <script.+src=.+(\.js|\.axd).+(</script>|>) It correctly matches both tags in the following html: <script src="Scripts/JScript1.js" type="text/javascript" /> <script type="text/javascript" src="Scripts/JScript2.js" /> However, when I do link tags with the following: <link.+href=.+(\.css).+(</link>|>) It matches all of this at once(eg it returns one match containing both items): <link href="Stylesheets/StyleSheet1.css" rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css" /> <link href="Stylesheets/StyleSheet2.css" rel="Stylesheet" type="text/css" /> What am I missing here? The regexes are essentially identical except for the text to match to? Also, I know that regex is not a great tool for HTML parsing...I will probably end up using the HtmlAgilityPack in the end, but this is driving me nuts and I want an answer if only for my own mental health!

• Regex: Match opening/closing chars with spaces

  I'm trying to complete a regular expression that will pull out matches based on their opening and closing characters, the closest I've gotten is ^(\[\[)[a-zA-Z.-_]+(\]\]) Which will match a string such as "[[word1]]" and bring me back all the matches if there is more than one, The problem is I want it to pick up matchs where there may be a space in so for example "[[word1 word2]]", now this will work if I add a space into my pattern above however this pops up a problem that it will only get one match for my entire string so for example if I have a string "Hi [[Title]] [[Name]] [[surname]], How are you" then the match will be "[[Title]] [[Name]] [[surname]]" rather than 3 matches "[[Title]]", "[[Name]]", "[[surname]]". I'm sure I'm just a char or two away in the Regex but I'm stuck, How can I make it return the 3 matches. Thanks

• ImgBurn fails to burn data CD-R disk due to "Layouts do not match" error

  I have a reoccurring problem with the program ImgBurn. Whenever I try and burn anything to a CD-R using ImgBurn it burns just fine, except for when I go and verify the disk. It tells me that the "Layouts do not match". Windows 7 shows the disk as completely blank. Although, I see on the bottom of the disk it has been written to. I can burn ISO files to DVD-R's just fine. This only seems to happen with CD-R's. The CD-R's I'm using are Memorex Cool Colors 52x CD-R's. I have looked on Google, and it seems like I'm not the only one this happens to. Unfortunately, no one is able to provide an explanation. I have included the log file from the last CD I just burnt. • Smart card / auditable access for rack KVM tray

  Is there such a thing as a KVM Tray for a standard 19" rack whose use can be validated by a smartcard (or some other auditable authentication method)? It looks like we have a security requirement where just because users have a key to the rack doesn't mean they will be allowed to use the console inside the rack, and rather than just lock the console (and keep track of who has keys), we would prefer to be able to audit the actual user that was attached at the KVM. (It's worth mentioning that I'm aware of the Raritan devices, but they surely can't be the only ones) (If these things existed, I don't think half of the tratoirs that somehow manage to infiltrate CTU on the TV show 24 would ever get away with anything)

  I've a ProLiant DL580 G7 server that experienced a storage subsystem failure during production. The system appeared available and responded to pings, but all I/O access stalled (the system load must have been 100+). The ASR did not trigger at the specified watchdog timeout. I had to force a reboot from the ILO. During POST, I received the following error: A controller failure event occurred prior to this power-up. (Previous lock up code = 0x11) I haven't pulled the ADU report yet, but I'm curious as to what this error actually means. I was not responsible for the the installation, but can see that the firmware is very old. But if there's anything else I should know about the error, I'd like to know for the post-mortem report. edit - I should add that the server had 95 days of uptime prior to the lock up.

• Using a SD card as a smart card for two-step verification for Mac logon

  What I am trying to do is create two-step verification to logon to my mac, one being that you would need to input a SD card (formated with special format or something) and then also have a password. Is there any software out there that could do this or any way of programming it so that once it reads the SD Card it makes the password bar visible for logon. Would it be easier to do it with Linux since it is open source? Any help in the right direction is appreciated. Thanks

• Smart subdomain routing via reverse proxy

  I have two servers on my home network: OSX Server and an Ubuntu Server. I'd love to have external subdomains osx.mydomain.com point to osx and ubuntu.mydomain.com point to ubuntu. I know the normal way to do this is to have a static external IP address for each, but that's not an option as this is just my home setup. My question is: is there a way to do this with some reverse proxy trickery? OSX is currently the default entry point for all traffic. I was able to setup a reverse proxy on OSX for ubuntu.mydomain.com on port 80, so web traffic was correctly being proxied to my ubuntu. I'd like to ssh and do a bunch of other stuff though!

• Cut (smart edit) .mts (AVCHD Progressive) files un Ubuntu Lucid

  I have a bunch of .mts files containing AVCHD Progressive video recorded by a Panasonic camera, and I need software on Ubuntu Lucid with which I can remove the boring parts, and concatenate the interesting parts, all this without reencoding the video stream. It's OK for me to cut at keyframe boundary. If Avidemux was able to open the files, it would take about 60 hours of work for me to cut the files. (At least that was it last time I tried with similar videos, but of a file format supported by Avidemux.) So I need a fast, powerful and stable video editor, because I don't want that 60 hours of work go up to 240 or even 480 hours just because the tool is too slow or unstable or has a terrible UI. I've tried Avidemux 2.5.5 and 2.5.6, but they crash trying to open such a file, even if I convert the file to .avi first using mencoder -oac copy -ovc copy. mplayer can play the files. I've tried Avidemux 2.6.0, which can open the file, but it cannot jump to the previous or next keyframe etc. (if I make it jump to the next keyframe, and then to the previous keyframe, it doesn't end up at the original keyframe, sometimes displays an error etc.). Also I'm not sure if Avidemux 2.6.x would let me save the result without reencoding. I've tried Kdenlive 0.7.7.1, but playback is very choppy, and it cannot play audio at all (complaining that SDL cannot find the device; but many other programs on the system can play audio). It would be a pain to work with. I've tried converting the .mts file to .mkv using ffmpeg -i input.mts -vcodec copy -sameq -acodec copy -f matroska output.mkv, but that caused too much visible distortions in the video in both mplayer and Avidemux. I've tried converting the .mts file with TsRemux.exe, but Avidemux 2.5.x still can't open that file. Is there another program to cut and concatenate the files? Is there a preprocessor which would create a file (without reencoding the video) on which Avidemux wouldn't crash?

• HP Media Smart remote access

  I just purchased this box for home backups for my pc's and mac's. Everything works great accept for the remote access part. I can RD into the machine locally but I can't get to it from outside of my network. I've enabled port forwarding on my router but it doesn't seem to matter. I checked with Qwest and they don't block these ports so I'm at a loss. I do have Vonage in front of my router but I've taken it out and it didn't make a difference. I suspect I've made an error with my router setup. I'm a programmer and I'm playing in the world of the unknown here. I'm lost. Any suggestions?
