Most topics covering jqgrid and asp.net seem to relate to just receiving JSON, or working in the MVC framework, or utilizing other handlers or web services... but not many dealt with actually passing parameters back to an actual webmethod in the codebehind. Furthermore, scarce are the examples that contain successful implementation the AJAX paging, sorting, or searching along with LINQ to SQL for asp.net jqGrid.   Hi there We're seeing the following intermittent warning logged by MSDTC: A caller has attempted to propagate a transaction to a remote system, but MSDTC network DTC access is currently disabled on machine 'X'. Please review the MS DTC configuration settings. However, MSDTC is disabled on machine X by design - it's a client machine, and has no business being enlisted in the transaction! Several windows service endpoints hosting WCF services over TCP Single SQL Server 2005 instance beneath Linq to Sql Remote client receives event callbacks over WCF/TCP The issue is tricky to reproduce - usually following restart of services. We suspect a callback to the client machine is occurring within the context of a transaction. Just wondering if anyone has seen similar issues?? Ken

• jQuery Datatable dynamic edit button attached to each row

  totally new to jquery and datatable. I would like to add an edit button that call forth a colorbox div that displays all the editable field. can anyone point me in the right direction on how this can be achieved? I was able to add a sClass to each field and use fnDrawCallback callback to call colorbox from field. But this is kind of messy and I rather just have a button at the end of each row for edit purpose. thanks very much for any pointers.

I dumped all the CoreTelephony headers using class-dump and added them to "/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/Developer/SDKs/iPhoneOS3.1.3.sdk/System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/CoreTelephony.framework". Now I'm following the Erica's tutorial (http://blogs.oreilly.com/iphone/2008/08/iphone-notifications.html). I added these following lines of code in my main.m, id ct = CTTelephonyCenterGetDefault(); CTTelephonyCenterAddObserver( ct, NULL, callback, NULL, NULL, CFNotificationSuspensionBehaviorHold); but I'm getting a warning like, Implicit declaration of function "CTTelephonyCenterGetDefault()" and "CTTelephonyCenterAddObserver(...)". Can any one has full working example, which will explain how to get the CoreTelepony notifications?

  Hello I'm building my first system using Twitters OAuth and have some issues. First, I'm using Abraham's Twitter-class for this and I have followed this tutorial. At the moment, I'm adding the value of ComboBox1 to the context key of the ComboBox2 web service when I'm firing it, however, I've noticed that this web service only fires when I modify the value in ComboBox2, not when I click the showList button. Is it possible to call and dynamically change the list of ComboBox2 when I change ComboBox1, or is it possible in RadComboBox to request a callback to the server for any of the client events such as opening up the list?

• Which datagrid to use for ASP.NET MVC2 project?

  Hi, I am developing a commercial MVC2 app that requires a grid that has callback update in some form to support 10,000+ rows. It should also support relatively rich content (icons, multiline descriptions etc). Although it requires the usual paging/scrolling/sorting features it does not need support for grouping. So nothing that special. The commercial grids I looked at were Component Art (http://www.componentart.com/products/aspnetmvc/datagrid/) and Telerik (http://www.telerik.com/products/aspnet-mvc/grid.aspx) which both look pretty good but may be a little OTT for what I need. They are also $800 and $999 respectively (1 developer). I've also looked at jqGrid (http://www.trirand.net/download.aspx) and the grid from MvcContrib. These appear ok but for a commercial app I am concerned that these may be risky options - though could be wrong there. I'd really appreciate any views/exprience on either the above grids or perhaps you can suggest a better option/approach. FYI I am using EF4 and C#. Cheers

  This is a classic sort of question, I suppose, but it seems that most people are interested in having the textbox cause a postback. I'm not. I just want the event to fire when a postback occurs. I have created a webpart with a custom editorpart. The editorpart renders with a textbox and a button. Clicking the button causes a dialog to open. When the dialog is closed, it sets the value of the textbox via javascript and then does __doPostBack using the ClientID of the editorpart. The postback happens, but the TextChanged event never fires, and I'm not sure if it's a problem with the way __doPostBack is invoked, or if it's because of the way I'm setting up the event handler, or something else.   Todays cause of hair loss has been the following scenario: I have a service that takes 2 strings and returns another.   I just upgraded to Ubuntu 10.4 from 9.10, and it's now hiding the hibernate and suspend options. How do I get them back? So the way you do this is make sure that your swap partition is in /etc/fstab and swap is enabled, and big enough. Look at /proc/swaps to see if anything is listed. Now I'm getting this error when I boot after suspending: init: ureadahead-other main process (705) terminated with status 4 Does anyone know how to fix this? I'm using Ubuntu with kernel 2.6.32-22-generic.

• android maps: How to Long Click a Map?

  Hi. How do I long click on a mapview so that a place marker appears at that point on the map? I tried a couple ways without success: 1) Using setOnLongClickListener on the MapvView which never detected the longclicks. 2) My other idea was to extend MapView to override dispatchTouchEvent .. Create a GestureDetector to respond to longpress callback. But I was stuck midway here as I could not get a handle to my subclassed Mapview. i.e. MyMapview mymapview; //MyMapView extends MapView mymapView = (MyMapView) findViewById(R.id.map); //results in a classcast exception 3) The only other way I know how to try this is: Detect a MotionEvent.ACTION_DOWN and post a delayed runnable to a handler and detect longpress if the two other events: acton_move or an action_up, have not happened. Can someone provide thoughts on any of these methods to detect long presses? Thanks in advance. Bd

• TCPlistener.BeginAcceptSocket - async question

  Hi, Some time ago I have payed to a programmer for doing multithread server. In the meantime I have learned C# a bit and now I think I can see the slowndown problem - I was told by that guy that nothing is processed on the main thread (Form) so it cannot be frozen..but it is. But I think that altough BeginAcceptSocket is async operation, but its callback runs on the main thread and if there is locking, thats the reason why the app freezes. Am I right? • iPhone StoreKit - invalid product id's

  I'm trying to test the in App purchase within the sandbox environment. In order to test the code I a) created a In App Purchase Test User account under 'Manage Users' in iTunes Connect b) created some in app purchase products under 'Manage Your In App Purchases'. I used numeric values and alpha-numeric values for the Product ID's. c) Loaded the app onto the iPhone, went to Settings-Store and logged out of the regular store and into the under a) created test account d) set a breakpoint in the (void)productsRequest:(SKProductsRequest *)request didReceiveResponse:(SKProductsResponse *)response callback All the submitted Product ID's are in the response.invalidProductIdentifiers category. When submitting the request I use either the Product ID's used under b) directly or I tried to prefix them with the Bundle ID: NSString *id2 = @"com.super.duper.8"; NSSet *productList = [NSSet setWithObjects:id2, @"8", nil]; SKProductsRequest *request= [[SKProductsRequest alloc] initWithProductIdentifiers:productList]; Am I missing something obvious?
