  Hi, I need to dynamically create class attributes from a DEFAULTS dictionary. defaults = { 'default_value1':True, 'default_value2':True, 'default_value3':True, } class Settings(object): default_value1 = some_complex_init_function(defaults[default_value1], ...) default_value2 = some_complex_init_function(defaults[default_value2], ...) default_value3 = some_complex_init_function(defaults[default_value3], ...) I could also achive this by having sth. like __init__ for class creation, in order to dynamically create these attributes from dictionary and save a lot of code and stupid work. I use malloc because assigning it to an array will not persist after the end of the function. Second, what is the best way to point to the pointer at the specified index? I tried typecasting the first line of the 'GetPtr' function to ensure proper pointer arithmetic, but I receive the warning, 'initialization from incompatible pointer type'. Is it necessary to typecast?

  I'm trying to render a component from withing another component. public override void Render() // ... var block = new Block(); block.Init(EngineContext, Context); block.Render(); // ... } The problem is that Block component can't find it's template. ResourceProcessingException Message: Unable to process resource 'components\CustomReportComponentComponent\default.vm': Resource could not be located I guess, other problems can arise because the component is not properly initialized. Is it possible to initialize a component from within another component's Render method, so it renders just as if called from a .vm?

• Zend Framework: My custom form filter is not filtering!

  So I have a form that is using a custom filter (which is really just a copy of Zend_Filter_Null). Where We have to select a Root project Directory(Browse)..so in this i want to hardcode the Browse path. By default it goes to workspace directory..but i want a fix path like..   In a lot of C++ API'S (COM-based ones spring to mind) that make something for you, the pointer to the object that is constructed is usually required as a ** pointer (and the function will construct and init it for you) You usually see signatures like: HRESULT createAnObject( int howbig, Object **objectYouWantMeToInitialize ) ; -- but you seldom see the new object being passed as a return value. Besides people wanting to see error codes, what is the reason for this? Is it better to use the ** pattern rather than a returned pointer for simpler operations such as: wchar_t* getUnicode( const char* src ) ; Or would this better be written as: void getUnicode( const char* src, wchar_t** dst ) ; The most important thing I can think of is to remember to free it, and the ** way, for some reason, tends to remind me that I have to deallocate it as well.

  I have a core data model that has a one to many relationship, there is a category, and it can contain many subcategories. Category <---- Subcategory I am trying to perform a fetch that checks if a particular Category contains a Subcategory with a particular name. Let's say I have two categories below, I want to fetch to see if there are any subcategories name "Apple" in the Category named "Fruits". • NSXMLParser 's delegate and memory leak

  Hello, I am using a NSXMLParser class in my program and I assign a delegate to it. This delegate, though, gets retained by the setDelegate: method resulting to a minor, yet annoying :-), memory leak. I cannot release the delegate class after the setDelegate: because the program will crash. Here is my code: self.parserDelegate = [[ParserDelegate alloc] init]; //retainCount:1 self.xmlParser = [[NSXMLParser alloc] initWithData:self.xmlData]; [self.xmlParser setDelegate:self.parserDelegate]; //retainCount:2 [self.xmlParser parse]; [self.xmlParser release]; ParserDelegate is the delegate class.   I am trying to wrap a c++ class (let's call it "Spam") written by someone else with swig to expose it to Python. After solving several problems, I am able to import the module in python, but when I try to create an object of such class I obtain the following error: foo = Spam.Spam('abc',3) Traceback (most recent call last): File "<stdin>", line 1, in <module> File "Spam.py", line 96, in __init__ this = _Spam.new_Spam(*args) NotImplementedError: Wrong number of arguments for overloaded function 'new_Spam'. • Proguard shrinks too much

  Since ADT 17 you can find in the gen folder a BuildConfig class with a DEBUG constant. I often use this constant in my code, since ADT changes the value automatically when you export the application. However with Proguard this doesn't work anymore. E.g. I have following snippet: if (!BuildConfig.DEBUG) { ACRA.init(this); } Proguard notices, that DEBUG is true, so it removes this snippet completely and shrinks the app. After that ADT changes DEBUG constant, but this is too late. The only solution I know is to create my own DEBUG constant and to change it manually again. But I really like the functionality of ADT. Do you know a better solution? Thanks in advance.

  I'm trying to build a web browser using PyGTK and PyWebKit However, I'm pretty sure my question only concerns PyGTK I have a custom gtk.Notebook class, with an "add tab" button as the last tab. When I click it, it gives me the error /home/ruiqimao/workspace/PyBrowser/src/browser/__init__.py:161: GtkWarning: IA__gdk_window_get_cursor: assertion `GDK_IS_WINDOW (window)' failed gtk.main() twice. And then, my new tab won't show up. I have no idea what is going on, so here is my whole code If any of you could help me, that would be great! Thanks! • How to extract the actual NSString from json object as NSArray

  I'm working with a large set of json and really just need the NSString representation of what's inside the NSArray -including all the { } My question is this - is their a better way than simply looping through each NSArray inside the main NSArray and outputting the description one by one? ie- the below is a start to this process but it's very brittle meaning I need to know each item inside the hat {} and this isn't something I actually care about. I just need the json string to move forward. The working code is below (thank you in advance!)   I want to use both ContextLoaderListener (so that I can pass Spring Beans to my servlet) as well as DispatchServlet (Spring MVC). However, currently I have to pass init param to these both class initializer: <param-name>contextConfigLocation</param-name> <param-value> /WEB-INF/spring/app-config.xml </param-value> So, I use the same xml for these both classes. Wonder if it would lead to my beans being initialized twice? If yes, how would I do to avoid that?

  Hi there. I'm trying to adopt some best practices to keep my python code efficient. I've heard that accessing a member variable inside of a loop can incur a dictionary lookup for every iteration of the loop, so I cache these in local variables to use inside the loop. My question is about the loop statement itself... if I have the following class: class A(object): def init(self) self.myList = [ 'a','b','c', 'd', 'e' ] Does the following code in a member function incur one, or one-per-loop-iteration (5) dictionary lookups? for letter in self.myList: print letter IE, should I adopt the following pattern, if I am concerned about efficiency... localList = self.myList for letter in localList: print letter or is that actually LESS efficient due to the local variable assign? Note, I am aware that early optimization is a dangerous pitfall if I'm concerned about the overall efficiency of code development. Here I am specifically asking about the efficiency of the code, not the coding. Thanks in advance! D
