  • Best way to code a webservice in weblogic?

    I am new to Weblogic and J2ee. I need to build a webservice that simply runs a query on the backend database (DB2 zOS) and returns the results. Being new to this I have a few questions. 1) What is the best way to build the webservice? 2) How do I connect to the database with weblogic. 3) Is there a way to cache the data returned so that the next request for the same data is pulled from cache? If googled for this but there seems to be many way to handle this. I am looking for the best way that can handle a high volume of requests. Any links to sample code would be helpful. - Thanks

  • Make a mouse pointer do a hyper-jump?

    I run a dual monitor setup. To get from monitor 1 to 2 (or vice-versa) requires lots of unnecessary mouse movement. My thought was to leverage a extra mouse button (I have two) and have the mouse hyper-jump (apologies to Star Trek) from the XY coordinates on monitor 1 to the same XY coordinates on monitor 2. How would I go about doing this? Could it be done via C#?

    Hello. I have a simple question (i guess). I'm getting the name of the function inside a variable from database. After that, i want to run the specific function. How can i echo the function's name inside the php file? The code is something like this: $variable= get_specific_option; //execute function $variable_somesuffix(); The "somesuffix" will be a simple text.   • Visual Studio 2008 patching without suppressing database

    Hi, I made a program using visual c# which connects to a local .mdf sql database. I've published it using the Publish Wizard, used the files on another computer to install it and it worked fine. However, some bugs were discovered. I've corrected the problems, published it again and tried to patch the program on the 2nd computer. After much trials and errors, fastest way to patch is to overwrite the .application file. Suprisingly, the database was also overwritten. Question is: How do I make new version of the program and install it on the other computer without modifying the database? On developping computer, database appears as a .mdf file which can be copied, but on 2nd computer this file does not exists. Supplementary info: -Developping computer: Vista, using Visual Studio 2008 with Server 2005 -2nd computer: XP using microsoft express server 2005

  • Java Swing rendering bug on Windows 7 look-and-feel?

    The knob on vertical JSlider's on my Windows 7 machine (with native look-and-feel) is really, really tiny in both directions. Not just skinny but short as well. Can anyone confirm this? Should I report it? If so, where? Thanks!   • Where is mpx386.6 and start.c in Minix 3.2?

    I'm trying to follow along in Operating Systems and Implementation 3rd edition and I'm now at the part in the book where Tanenbaum is discussing bootup and kernel process switching. He keeps referring to these 2 files (mpx386.s, start.c) that are supposedly in a directory called kernel, but I can't seem to find them. In the root directory, when I go to boot/minix/3.2.0/kernel, kernel just seems to be a binary file that is illegible in terminal. There also seems to be a bunch of mod01-mod12 gz binary files as well in the 3.2.0 directory. Am I in the wrong directory, or is there something I need to install and do to read kernel? I would like to follow along with the book to what's on my screen, instead of constantly flipping back and forth. I realize alot of files are completely different from this book published in 2006 and I accept that, but this seems to be a critical juncture of the book and the operating system as a whole. If it's any consolation, I'm running the OS in Virtualbox on a 64-bit Macbook.

    Hi, I'm trying to create a new git repository from existing folder. I've created a .gitignore file in the root of the folder. But if I say 'git add *' 'git commit' 'git push' files that should be ignored still get commited to the remote repository. I'm on Windows. Also I've bought a license for SmartGIT. It also seems to ignore .gitignore. I have to manually select which new files to commit. What am I doing wrong?

I can successfully bind one of my database's tables to my DataGridView: var dataSource = from c in _db.NetworkedEquipments select c; dataGridView1.DataSource = dataSource; However, the foreign keys get duplicated, that is, the columns appear twice. How can I prevent this?

    I'm in a stupid situation: I have done some changes in a working copy of the TRUNK. Since the changes have not been tested, I'd like to transfer all the changes to a branch. According to the manual of Tortoise, Switch will lose all my modifications. Is there any way to keep my changes in the working copy and save them in a branch in the repository.

  • Ruby string encoding problem

    I've looked at the other ruby/encoding related posts but haven't been able to figure out why the following is not working. Likely just because I'm dense, but here's the situation. Using Ruby 1.9 on windows. I have a set of CSV files that need some data appended to the end of each line. Whenever I run my script, the appended characters are gibberish. The input text appears to be IBM437 encoding, whereas my string I'm appending starts as US-ASCII. Nothing I've tried with respect to forcing encoding on the input strings or the append string seems to change the resultant output. I'm stumped.   • Make text in a <div> wrap around a child element.

    In Word you can place an image on a page and have the text flow nicely around it. I was wondering how far one can get towards this using CSS, noting that is has to work in IE6. I already have something sort of close using float, but the floated child-element still 'blocks' text above it. So it partially wraps. Is it possible to put a child div at some arbitrary position in the parent, and have text flow around it freely? The actual use-case here is to put illustrations inside the main content , where each illustration is implemented inside a child . I repeat, it has to work on IE6. And I don't want to get too involved in browser-specific hacks... floating the child at least works on IE6 with no tweaking.   • MochaUI: 'A is null' when adding columns

    I've just downloaded MochaUI, and I'm playing around trying to build an interface. I've successfully created windows, but I'm having trouble when it comes to layouts with columns. I've included all of the libraries in the same order as the demo, and this is in my init code: window.addEvent('domready', function(){ new MochaUI.Column({ id: 'sideColumn1', placement: 'left', width: 200, resizeLimit: [100, 300] }); }); When run, no column is created and I get the error: A is null Does anyone have any ideas?     Hello everyone, I have the following array: Array ( [0] => Array ( [0] => 87 [1] => 55 [2] => 85 [3] => 86 ) [1] => Array ( [0] => 58 [1] => 84 ) [2] => Array ( [0] => 58 ) ) This array above is an example. The actual array is of variable size, but structured like this. Basically, I'd like to run array_intersect on each second level array and grab the value (number) that is common between them. In this case, it would be 58. I'm not quite sure where to start on this. Any advice?
