• Usinng svnadmin dump to revert the latest revision committed

  What I need is that the latest (mistake) revision being reverted and that the repository does not store it in anyway. That is, I'm trying to erase the latest revision out of existence, NOT trying to fix things by coming back to the latest-1 revision. In other words, I want to avoid the repository growing in size. Suppose head revision is 100. I knew that the suggested answer is that svnadmin dump -r0:80 old-repo | svnadmin load --force-uuid new-repo. What I'm confusing myself about is why not svnadmin dump -r81:100 old-repo Why the first and not the second solution? I suppose svnadmin dump will erase the repository completely? And keeping only revision 0 - 80 in a dump file? Is my understanding of "taking a part out of the repository into a dump file" about svnadmin dump completely wrong? (That is revision 81 - 100 is still there) Sincere apologies if this has been asked. I did spend some time searching though no specific things about this were found. A topic link in case I miss it would be greatly appreciated.

• Ninject woes... 404 error problems

  We are using the beloved Ninject+Ninject.Web.Mvc with MVC 2 and are running into some problems. Specifically dealing with 404 errors. We have a logging service that logs 500 errors and records them. Everything is chugging along just perfectly except for when we attempt to enter a non-existent controller. • Javascript/Greasemonkey: search for something then set result as a value

  Ok, I'm a bit of a n00b when it comes to JS (I'm not the greatest programmer) so please be gentle - specially if my questions been asked already somewhere and I'm too stupid to find the right answer. Self deprecation out of the way, let's get to the question. Problem There is a site me and a large group of friends frequently use which doesn't display all the information we may like to know - in this case an airline bookings site and the class of travel. While the information is buried in the code of the page, it isn't displayed anywhere to the user. Using a Greasemonkey script, I'd like to liberate this piece of information and display it in a suitable format. Here's the psuedocode of what I'm looking to do. Search dom for specified element define variables Find a string of text If found Set result to a variable Write contents to page at a specific location (before a specified div) If not found Do nothing I think I've achieved most of it so far, except for the key bits of: Searching for the string: The page needs to search for the following piece of text in the page HEAD: mileageRequest += "&CLASSES=S,S-S,S-S"; The Content I need to extract and store is between the second equals (=) sign and the last comma ("). The contents of this area can be any letter between A-Z. I'm not fussed about splitting it up into an array so I could use the elements individually at this stage. Writing the result to a location: Taking that found piece of text and writing it to another location. • MySQL Connection Timeout Issue - Grails Application on Tomcat using Hibernate and ORM

  Hi Guys I have a small grails application running on Tomcat in Ubuntu on a VPS. I use MySql as my datastore and everything works fine unless I leave the application for more than half a day (8 hours?). I did some searching and apparently this is the default wait_timeout in mysql.cnf so after 8 hours the connection will die but Tomcat won't know so when the next user tries to view the site they will see the connection failure error. Refreshing the page will fix this but I want to get rid of the error altogether. For my version of MySql (5.0.75) I have only my.cnf and it doesn't contain such a parameter, In any case changing this parameter doesn't solve the problem. This Blog Post seems to be reporting a similar error but I still don't fully understand what I need to configure to get this fixed and also I am hoping that there is a simpler solution than another third party library. The machine I'm running on has 256MB ram and I'm trying to keep the number of programs/services running to a minimum. Is there something I can configure in Grails / Tomcat / MySql to get this to go away? • Good examples of MapServer / OpenLayers

  I want to convince some clients to use MapServer and OpenLayers. Please can anyone suggest attractive websites to show off the possiblities! The clients will be impressed by: A density map (otherwise known as a heat map, colour-shaded grid coverage, contour plot...). The ability for the user to download the underlying data for the density map, restricted to the area being viewed, in some format such as netCDF. Standard OpenLayers stuff. Zooming, panning, scale bar, overview map... Different base layers. Could be WMS, Google, Bing... Searching for a placename, map is panned to display the place. MapServer.org seems to be down right now :( But from memory their examples didn't have the "wow" factor. The OpenLayers examples demonstrate only one or two features per example - I want something to wow the clients by showing all the capabilities in one example. PS If you have good examples that use some other open source tools, post them by all means. But just JavaScript please: customer says no rich client.

There are hundreds of thousands of nearby points which to what I can tell, are being indexed by Sphinx, but simply fails silently when searching with Sphinx. • Reset or clear the UIView from UILabels

  Hello, I have created an UIView on which I have a number of labels and I'm also drawing some lines in the same UIView. Sometimes I update the lines that I'm drawing. Now, the problem I am having is that when I update the lines, they get drawn according to my wish. But the labels are overwriting themselves. This shouldn't have been a problem if it wasn't for that the position is changed about 1 pixel and that makes the text go blurry. I don't know how to remove the labels before they are redrawn. I do remove the labels from the superview and add them back when drawRect is called, but the SetNeedDisplay doesn't clear the screen before the graphic is updated, I guess (I think I read that SetNeedsDisplay/drawRect doesn't clear the screen, just updating the content. Couldn't find the text now while searching)? What is the pattern to use here, should I create a retangle with the size of the screen (or the area where the labels are) and fill it with the background colour, or is there any other way to clear or reset the UIView (I don't want to release and create the UIView again). The view is created in IB and associated with a custom UIView. In IB I add some buttons and other static labels. The above labels and graphics is created programatically. • Iterating arrays in a batch file

  I am writing a batch file (I asked a question on SU) to iterate over terminal servers searching for a specific user. So, I got the basic start of what I'm trying to do. Enter a user name Iterate terminal servers Display servers where user is found (they can be found on multiple servers now and again depending on how the connection is lost) Display a menu of options Iterating terminal servers I have: for /f "tokens=1" %%Q in ('query termserver') do (set __TermServers.%%Q) Now, I am getting the error... Environment variable __TermServers.SERVER1 not defined ...for each of the terminal servers. This is really the only thing in my batch file at this point. Any idea on why this error is occurring? Obviously, the variable is not defined, but I understood the SET command to do just that. I'm also thinking that in order to continue working on the iteration (each terminal server), I will need to do something like: :Search for /f "tokens=1" %%Q in ('query termserver') do (call Process) goto Break :Process for /f "tokens=1" %%U in ('query user %%username%% /server:%%Q') do (set __UserConnection = %%C) goto Search However, there are 2 things that bug me about this: Is the %%Q value still alive when calling Process? When I goto Search, will the for-loop be starting over? I'm doing this with the tools I have at my disposal, so as much as I'd like to hear about PowerShell and other ways to do this, it would be futile. I have notepad and that's it. Note: I would continue this line of questions on SuperUser, except that it seems to be getting more into programming specifics.

  Partials in XML builder are proving to be non-trivial. After some initial Google searching, I found the following to work, although it's not 100% xml.foo do xml.id(foo.id) xml.created_at(foo.created_at) xml.last_updated(foo.updated_at) foo.bars.each do |bar| xml << render(:partial => 'bar/_bar', :locals => { :bar => bar }) end end this will do the trick, except the XML output is not properly indented. the output looks something similar to: <foo> <id>1</id> <created_at>sometime</created_at> <last_updated>sometime</last_updated> <bar> ... </bar> <bar> ... </bar> </foo> The <bar> element should align underneath the <last_updated> element, it is a child of <foo> like this: <foo> <id>1</id> <created_at>sometime</created_at> <last_updated>sometime</last_updated> <bar> ... </bar> <bar> ... </bar> </foo> Works great if I copy the content from bar/_bar.xml.builder into the template, but then things just aren't DRY.

• upgrading .NET application from MapPoint 2004 to 2009...

  I am in the process of upgrading a Visual Studio 2005 .NET (C#) application from it's integration with MapPoint 2004 to supporting MapPoint 2009. After a bit of searching and fiddling, I've generated new DLLs using "tldimp" and "aximp" and now have Interop.MapPoint.dll and AxInterop.MapPoint.dll and the namespaces seem to line up to the previous ones, so all the object definitions are available. However, I have lots of errors telling me that various properties do not exist, even though I go into the Object Browser, and they do seem to exist. Here is an example (there are dozens of similar errors)... axMappointControl1.ActiveMap.Altitude = 1000; That object initializes fine, as a MapPoint.Map object, which when I browse to in the Object Browser, I go to MapPoint and Map and under Map there are no properties but when I look deeper there is _Map80 and _Map90 and EACH of these has an Altitude property. Under Map it also lists "Base Types", which has _Map in it which also has all the referenced properties! Yet, I am getting the error: "MapPoint.Map' does not contain a definition for 'Altitude' Pretty much all the properties of both MapPoint.Map and MapPoint.Toolbars are doing this. Any ideas? • iPhone TableView alternative options for Check Mark Accessory

  I'm looking for the best approach to this problem. In my tableview I have a list of options from which you can select one and only one. The problem is the selection to choose is not obvious without displaying more details on the option. If I use the disclosure indicator or button for the more detail, I lose the checkmark functionality. In searching around I see some have used the cell Image as a work around. I see others instead of using the standard disclosure button have created custom disclosure button looking like a checkmark. Haven't seen this one but is it viable (HIG) to add a button in the cell ('more info') to launch the next tableview. My thought was to use a disclosure indicator and on the second view in the navigation bar (where the edit button usually is) add a 'selectMe' button. I think I am probably manage to code either of the above, am just asking for information on what is the best (HIG) way. Example Option 1 Option 2 Option 3 (x) Option 4 Where x is the checked one But in order to know which is the best choice you need to see Option 3 (Header) Option 3-a Option 3-b Option 3-c Option 3-d Where even at this level option 3-c might have additional information. Any guidance you can provide would appreciated.

• Connecting to a Websphere MQ in Java with SSL/Keystore

  I'd like to connect to a Websphere 6.0 MQ via Java. I have already working code for a "normal" queue, but now I need to access a new queue which is SSL encrypted (keystore). I have been sent a file called something.jks, which I assume is a certificate I need to store somewhere. I have been searching the net, but I can't find the right information. This is the code I use for the "normal" queue. I assume I need to set some property, but not sure which one. • make emacs in a terminal use dark colors and not light font-lock colors

  I am using emacs on MacOS 10.6 with Terminal. I have a white background. It's very hard to read quoted C++ strings. They are coming up in pale green. Keywords are in turquoise. After searching through the source I cam across cpp.el and have determined that I am using the cpp-face-light-name-list instead of cpp-face-dark-name-list. Apparently this function is supposed to chose the correct list based on the background color: (defcustom cpp-face-default-list nil "Alist of faces you can choose from for cpp conditionals. Each element has the form (STRING . FACE), where STRING serves as a name (for `cpp-highlight-buffer' only) and FACE is either a face (a symbol) or a cons cell (background-color . COLOR)." :type '(repeat (cons string (choice face (cons (const background-color) string)))) :group 'cpp) But it doesn't seem to be working. What should I put in my .emacs file so that I get the cpp-face-dark-list instead of cpp-face-light-list? Thanks!

  Please suggest how should I approach these requirements. What ready-to-use solutions (modules) are best suited to achieve something like this: What I need is an image library that has searchable, tagged images that are already resized when we publish them. If the author searches the library and the image he needs isn’t there, he can upload one and have it added to the index. The important thing is that images in the library can be sorted into three categories: News images, top story images and feature images so that, over time, we don’t end up with hundreds of images crammed into one folder, thus making browsing a pain (and to prevent someone from something like: Searching for a keyword so they can find an image for the news, picking an image, and then seeing it’s 1600X. 1200). Also, I need something which will assemble thumbnail galleries easily. I don’t want to have to go to the image library, get a URL, go back, paste it in, etc. I should be able to pick, say, 8 images and say “create gallery”. How this objective is achieved is flexible, but I am looking for a shortcut to get around assembling screenshot galleries by hand.

• VS2008 javascript debugger IE8 "there is no source code available for the current location"

  I have almost the same problem as this unanswered question. The only difference is I'm using VS2008, but I'm in an MVC project calling this javascript function: function CompanyChange(compCtrl) { alert(compCtrl.value); debugger; var test; for (var i = 0; i < document.all.length; i++) { test = document.all[i]; } } I hit the alert, then I get the message "there is no source code available for the current location." At which point the page becomes unresponsive and I have to manually stop the debugger just to shut it down. I've logged into another machine and ran this exact code and it works fine, I hit the debugger and can step through. I've checked to make sure all settings in VSToolsOptionsDebugging are identical as well as IEOptionsAdvanced and they are. Both machines are Windows 7 Enterprise edition 32-bit, VS2008, IE8. I've also tried attaching a process manually in VS, and using the 'Developer Tools' in IE which didn't work (said there already was a process attached). I was hoping someone may have had this problem and found a work-around because I've already done a lot of searching and tried all the options I've read. Anyone else run into this? Thank you, Jeff

• WPF Toolkit Datagrid - how do you turn selection off?

  I have a datagrid in WPF that I am binding to an object. I have a DataGridCheckBoxColumn on there which I want the users to be able to go through and tick the ones they want. Problem is they have to click twice, once for selection then again to check/uncheck. How on earth do you turn this off, I've been searching for way to long to find the answer to this. The datagrid has SelectionMode and SelectionUnit properties - neither of which accept 'none' or 'go away' Any help is appreciated!   I am trying to identify all the <UL> that contain a menu list by defining the ID like this: <ul id="menutop"> <li><a href="#">item1</a></li> <li><a href="#">item2</a></li> <li><a href="#">item3</a></li> </ul> <ul id="menumain"> <li><a href="#">item1</a></li> <li><a href="#">item2</a></li> <li><a href="#">item3</a></li> </ul> As per what I understand, I could use: ul[id|='menu']>li>a {color:#f00;} (<a> direct child of a <li> direct child of an <ul> that has its id starting with menu) But it doesn't work. Searching a bit brought me this [question][1] which suggests that ID is an attribute and not a property so I don't get why it isn't working. What am I doing wrong?   This won't be a question, but a solution to an infuriating problem on Ubuntu 10.04. If you tried to deploy an LDAP server using this distro following the tutorials below, you'll be on serious trouble. Tutorials: https://help.ubuntu.com/9.10/serverguide/C/openldap-server.html https://help.ubuntu.com/9.10/serverguide/C/samba-ldap.html The error first appear, on the line: "ldapsearch -xLLL -b cn=config -D cn=admin,cn=config -W olcDatabase=hdb olcAccess" It simply won't allow admin to access the "cn=config", thus you won't be able to deploy the LDAP server correctly. After almost a week searching for a solution, I've found this page: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-docs/+bug/333733 On comment #5, the solution is presented. Quoting the author: when you get to the setting up ACL part you all of a sudden need to use a cn=admin,cn=config, that doesn't exist creating a config.ldif with dn: olcDatabase={0}config,cn=config changetype: modify add: olcRootDN olcRootDN: cn=admin,cn=config dn: olcDatabase={0}config,cn=config changetype: modify add: olcRootPW olcRootPW: secret dn: olcDatabase={0}config,cn=config changetype: modify delete: olcAccess and adding it with ldapadd -Y EXTERNAL -H ldapi:/// -f config.ldif It's unacceptable that a Linux distribution, popular like Ubuntu, have such ridiculous bug. • apache: cgi links lead to a "you have chosen to open foo.cgi", although scriptalias is set

  Following this guide on CentOS 5.2, just getting nagios set up for the first time. The main page shows up just fine, but when I try to view any of the pages that should be generated by a cgi process, firefox prompts me to save the .cgi instead, so apache's obviously not understanding that it needs to run the cgi and get back some html from it. This config file is being parsed by apache, because if I move it out of conf.d, /nagios gives a 404. The .cgi files are indeed in the /nagios/cgi-bin/ directory, so I didn't specify the incorrect directory. Searching seemed to only provide people who had difficulty with permissions, which is not the issue here. This seems to me to be a pretty basic thing, but even with the excellent apache documentation, I'm at a bit of a loss (been using cherokee too much lately :) ).

  Hi, I installed Sphinx and Thinking Sphinx for ruby on rails 2.3.2. When I search without conditions search works ok. Now, what I'd like to do is filter by tags, so, as I'm using the acts_as_taggable_on plugin, my Announcement model looks like this: class Announcement < ActiveRecord::Base acts_as_taggable_on :tags,:category define_index do indexes title, :as => :title, :sortable => true indexes description, :as => :description, :sortable => true indexes tags.name, :as => :tags indexes category.name, :as => :category has category(:id), :as => :category_ids has tags(:id), :as => :tag_ids end For some reason, when I run the following command, it will bring just one announcement, that has nothing to do with what I expect. I've got many announcements, so I expected a lot of results instead. Announcement.search params[:announcement][:search].to_s, :with => {:tag_ids => 1}, :page => params[:page], :per_page => 10 I guess something is wrong, and it's not searching correctly. Can anyone give my a clue of what's going on? Thanks, Brian

• How to handle correctly HTTP Digest Authentication on iPhone

  Hello guys. I'm trying to upload a file onto my personal server. I've written a small php page that works flawlessy so far. The little weird thing is the fact that I generate all the body of the HTTP message I'm going to send (let's say that amounts to ~4 mb) and then I send the request to my server. The server, then, asks for an HTTP challenge and my delegate connection:didReceiveAuthenticationChallenge:challenge replies to the server with the proper credentials and the data. But, what's happened? The data has been sent twice! In fact I've noticed that when I added the progressbar.. the apps sends the data (4mb), the server asks for authentication, the apps re-sends the data with the authentication (another 4mb). So, at the end, I've sent 8mb. That's wrong. I started googling and searching for a solution but I can't figure out how to fix this. The case scenarios are two (my guess): Share the realm for the whole session (a minimal HTTP request, then challenge, then data) Use the synchronized way to perform an HTTP connection (things that I do not want to do since it seems an ugly way to handle this kind of stuff to me) Thank you

  Hi, My app needs to use PyCurl, so i tried to install it on my Mac but i found a lot of problems and error :( Requirement: First of all i've to say that the version of Python working on my Mac is 32 bit based, because i need to use WxPython, that needs 32 bit Python.   hi, I have been in web programming for 2 years (Self taught - a biology researcher by profession). I designed a small wiki with needed functionalities and a scientific RTE - ofcourse lot is expected. I used mootools framework and AJAX extensively. I was always curious when ever I saw the query strings passed from URL. Long encrypted query string directly getting passed to the server. Especially Google's design is such. I think this is the start of providing a Web Service to a client - I guess. Now, my question is : is this a special, highly professional, efficient / advanced web design technique to communicate queries via the URL ? I always felt that direct URL based communication is faster. I tried my bit and could send a query through the URL directly. here is the link: http://sgwiki.sdsc.edu/getSGMPage.php?8 By this , the client can directly link to the desired page instead of searching and / or can automate. • Selected Item in Dropdown Lists from Enum in ASP.net MVC

  Sorry if this is a dup, my searching turned up nothing. If I give the dropdown list the same name as the property on my model the selected value is not set properly. Meaning this works: <%= Html.DropDownList("fam", typeof(EnumFamily), Model.Family)%> But this doesn't: <%= Html.DropDownList("family", typeof(EnumFamily), Model.Family)%> Because I'm trying to pass an entire object directly to the controller method I am posting to, I would really like to have the dropdown list named for the property on the model. When using the "right" name, the dropdown does post correctly, I just can't seem to set the selected value. I don't think this matters but I am running MVC 1 on mono 2.6

• Do you have ideas for a workaround for this Known bug in Visual Studio 2010's addIn model ?

  When developing AddIns for Visual Studio 2010 the following line fails: CommandBarEvents handler = (EnvDTE.CommandBarEvents)m_VSStudio.DTE.Events.get_CommandBarEvents(popup); Update: Forgot to tell that m_VSStudio is of the type DTE2 Where popup is of the type CommandBarPopup (for the type CommandBarControl it works though) The line fails with this Exception: System.Runtime.InteropServices.COMException (0x80020003): Member not found. (Exception from HRESULT: 0x80020003 (DISP_E_MEMBERNOTFOUND)) The exact same line worked in Visual Studio 2008. The purpose of the line is to get a handler which handles clickevents, when one clicks the Popup. After som searching I found this link: http://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/524335/events-get-commandbarevents-exception-on-submenus-reproducible-bug-addin Which basicly states that it is a known bug, which will not be fixed, because there is a workaround. But unfortunately it does not state the workaround :( I would be extremely pleased if anybody has a great idea for a workaround ? The reason why I want to listen to the click events is because I want to show or hide the submenuitems (CommandBarControl) given some condition, when one clicks a menu (CommandBarPopup). So a workaround that uses something else than the click event would also be appreciated.
