  • Django "login() takes exactly 1 argument (2 given)" error

    - by Oleksandr Bolotov
    I'm trying to store the user's ID in the session using django.contrib.auth.login . But it is not working not as expected. I'm getting error login() takes exactly 1 argument (2 given) With login(user) I'm getting AttributeError at /login/ User' object has no attribute 'method' I'm using slightly modifyed example form http://docs.djangoproject.com/en/dev/topics/auth/ : from django.shortcuts import render_to_response from django.contrib.auth import authenticate, login def login(request): msg = [] if request.method == 'POST': username = request.POST['u'] password = request.POST['p'] user = authenticate(username=username, password=password) if user is not None: if user.is_active: login(request, user) msg.append("login successful") else: msg.append("disabled account") else: msg.append("invalid login") return render_to_response('login.html', {'errors': msg}) there's nothing special about login.html: <html> <head> <title></title> </head> <body> <form action="/login/" method="post"> Login:&nbsp; <input type="text" name="u"> <br/> Password:&nbsp; <input type="password" name="p"> <input type="submit" value="Login"> </form> {% if errors %} <ul> {% for error in errors %} <li>{{ error }}</li> {% endfor %} </ul> {% endif %} </body> </html> Does anybody have idea how to make login() work.

  • How you would you describe the Observer pattern in beginner language?

    - by Sheldon
    Currently, my level of understanding is below all the coding examples on the web about the Observer Pattern. I understand it simply as being almost a subscription that updates all other events when a change is made that the delegate registers. However, I'm very unstable in my true comprehension of the benefits and uses. I've done some googling, but most are above my level of understanding. I'm trying to implement this pattern with my current homework assignment, and to truly make sense on my project need a better understanding of the pattern itself and perhaps an example to see what its use. I don't want to force this pattern into something just to submit, I need to understand the purpose and develop my methods accordingly so that it actually serves a good purpose. My text doesn't really go into it, just mentions it in one sentence. MSDN was hard for me to understand, as I'm a beginner on this, and it seems more of an advanced topic. How would you describe this Observer pattern and its uses in C# to a beginner? For an example, please keep code very simple so I can understand the purpose more than complex code snippets. I'm trying to use it effectively with some simple textbox string manipulations and using delegates for my assignment, so a pointer would help!

  • JQuery Validation Plugin: Prevent validation issue on nested form

    - by Majid
    I have a form on which I use validation. This form has a section for photo upload. Initially this section contains six elements with the following code: <img class="photo_upload" src="image/app/photo_upload.jpg"> I have bound a function to the click event for the class of photo_upload. This function replaces the image with a minimal form with this code: Copy code <form onsubmit="startUploadImage();" target="control_target" enctype="multipart/form-data" method="post" action="index.php"> <input type="hidden" value="add_image" name="service"> <input type="hidden" value="1000000" name="MAX_FILE_SIZE"> <input type="file" size="10" name="photo" id="photo_file_upload"><br> <button onclick="javascript:cancel_photo_upload();return false;">Cancel</button> </form> So, essentially, after the image is clicked, I'd have a new form nested in my original, validated form. Now, when I use this new form and upload an image, I receive an error (repeated three times) saying: validator is undefined http://host.com/path/index.php Line 286 What is going on here? My guess is this Submit event bubbles up to the outer form As we have validation on that form, validation is triggered, Validation tries to find the form triggering it, Since we have not bound validation to the inner form it returns 'undefined' Now, is my assessment correct? Whether it is or not, how can I solve this issue?

  • jqModal dialog - only displaying once

    - by James Inman
    I've got a jqModal dialog with the following code: $(document).ready( function() { $('td.item.active').click( function(e) { $(this).append( '<div class="new">&nbsp;</div>' ); $("#jqModal").jqm({ modal:true, onHide: function(e) { e.w.hide(); // Hide window e.o.remove(); // Remove overlay } }); $('#jqModal').jqmShow(); $('input#add_session').click( function(e) { e.preventDefault(); $('#jqModal').hide(); $('.jqmOverlay').remove(); }); }); }); The HTML used is as follows: <div id="jqModal" class="jqmWindow"> <form action="" method="post"> <ul> <li> <input id="add_session" name="commit" type="submit" value="Add Session" /> <input type="button" name="close" value="Close" id="close" class="jqmClose" /> </li> </ul> </form> </div> When I first click a <td>, the dialog launches without a problem. On the second click (or subsequent), the new class is added to the <div>, but the dialog doesn't launch.

  • How can I get browser to prompt to save password?

    - by Eric
    Hey, I'm working on a web app that has a login dialog that works like this: User clicks "login" Login form HTML is loaded with AJAX and displayed in DIV on page User enters user/pass in fields and clicks submit. It's NOT a <form> -- user/pass are submitted via AJAX If user/pass are okay, page reloads with user logged in. If user/pass are bad, page does NOT reload but error message appears in DIV and user gets to try again. Here's the problem: the browser never offers the usual "Save this password? Yes / Never / Not Now" prompt that it does for other sites. I tried wrapping the <div> in <form> tags with "autocomplete='on'" but that made no difference. Is it possible to get the browser to offer to store the password without a major rework of my login flow? thanks Eric p.s. to add to my question, I'm definitely working with browers that store passwords, and I've never clicked "never for this site" ...this is a technical issue with the browser not detecting that it's a login form, not operator error :-)

  • Where to find algorithms for standard math functions?

    - by dsimcha
    I'm looking to submit a patch to the D programming language standard library that will allow much of std.math to be evaluated at compile time using the compile-time function evaluation facilities of the language. Compile-time function evaluation has several limitations, the most important ones being: You can't use assembly language. You can't call C code or code for which the source is otherwise unavailable. Several std.math functions violate these and compile-time versions need to be written. Where can I get information on good algorithms for computing things such as logarithms, exponents, powers, and trig functions? I prefer just high level descriptions of algorithms to actual code, for two reasons: To avoid legal ambiguity and the need to make my code look "different enough" from the source to make sure I own the copyright. I want simple, portable algorithms. I don't care about micro-optimization as long as they're at least asymptotically efficient. Edit: D's compile time function evaluation model allows floating point results computed at compile time to differ from those computed at runtime anyhow, so I don't care if my compile-time algorithms don't give exactly the same result as the runtime version as long as they aren't less accurate to a practically significant extent.

  • Sending wordpress title-value across PHP-pages

    - by VoodooBurger
    I recently made this wordpress blog, where you can sign up a team for an event, when clicking a link under the event post. This link takes you to a sign-up form on another php-page. The link is added in the loop of the events-template like this: <?php query_posts('cat=8');?> <?php if (have_posts()) : while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?> <div class="post" id="post-<?php the_ID(); ?>"> <h2><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2> <div id="tilmeldknap"><?php wp_list_pages("title_li=&depth=1&include=63"); ?></div> <?php include (TEMPLATEPATH . '/inc/meta.php' ); ?>... So every upcoming event will have the same sign-up button. All I need now is to somehow send the specific event-post-title along to the sign-page, so that the following form-submit action will contain that title aswell. But since I'm not very good at php it seems like a mystery, altho I bet it's very simple! I'm guessing it's something like: $event=$_POST['single_post_title()'] But how to get the value to the next php-page I have no idea... please help, anyone :) An eksample can be seen throught this link: http://gadebold.dk/events/ The link sais: 'Tilmeld Hold'

  • Prototype's Ajax.Updater not actually updating on IE7.

    - by Ben S
    I am trying to submit a form using Ajax.Updater and have the result of that update a div element in my page. Everything works great in IE6, FF3, Chrome and Opera. However, In IE7 it sporadically works, but more often than not, it just doesn't seem to do anything. Here's the javascript: function testcaseHistoryUpdate(testcase, form) { document.body.style.cursor = 'wait'; var param = Form.serialize(form); new Ajax.Updater("content", "results/testcaseHistory/" + testcase, { onComplete: function(transport) {document.body.style.cursor = 'auto'}, parameters: param, method: 'post' } ); } I've verified using alert() calls that param is set to what I expect. I've read in many places that IE7 caches aggressively and that it might be the root cause, however every after adding the following to my php response, it still doesn't work. header("Last-Modified: " . gmdate("D, d M Y H:i:s") . " GMT"); header("Cache-Control: no-store, no-cache, must-revalidate"); header("Cache-Control: post-check=0, pre-check=0", false); header("Pragma: no-cache"); To further try to fix a caching issue I've tried adding a bogus parameter which just gets filled with a random value to have different parameters for every call, but that didn't help. I've also found this, where UTF-8 seemed to be causing an issue with IE7, but my page is clearly marked: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=iso-8859-1" /> Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong with IE7 as opposed to the other browsers I tested to cause this kind of issue?

  • GLOBAL loading inside each single button with Jquery in ajax calls of asp.net mvc

    - by Ricky
    I have the following scenario: I have a button\link with a image inside like this: <button type="submit" id="myButton" class="button"><img src="../../Content/images/check.png" id="defaultImage" /> SaveData!!!</button> We are OK here! Now what I need to do is: I want on the click that the image change for a loading element that is previously loaded in the page like this: <img id="loadingImage" src="../../Content/images/loader.gif" style="display: none;" alt="loading"/> And then when the load complete turn back the old button image, I ended with this code: function loader() { var $button = $('#myButton'); if (btnState == '1') { $button.find('img').hide(); $button.prepend($('#loadingImage')); $('#loadingImage').css({ 'display': 'inherit' }); btnState = '0'; } else { $button.find('img').hide(); $button.prepend($('#defaultImage')); $('#defaultImage').show(); btnState = '1'; } } This does the trick for ONE SINGLE button(since I pass its ID in the function) but, when I have for example a grid with a button on each line, I found inviable when managing a screen with many buttons do this for each of then. The main question is: How can I make this method general for all buttons/links on one specific class in the page? The goal is: Click a button, get the image and change it and stop(can be manual). I just don't wanna have to Hook ALL buttons.

  • Re-Convert timestamp DATE back to original format (when editing) PHP MySQL

    - by Jess
    Ok so I have managed to get the format of the date presented in HTML (upon display) to how I want (dd/mm/yyy)...However, the user also can change the date via a form. So this is how it's setup as present. Firstly, the conversion from YYYY-MM-DD to DD/MM/YYYY and then display in HTML: $timestamp = strtotime($duedate); echo date('d/m/Y', $timestamp); Now when the user selects to update the due date, the value already stored value is drawn up and presented in my text field (using exactly the same code as above).. All good so far. But when my user runs the update script (clicks submit), the new due date is not being stored, and in my DB its seen as '0000-00-00'. I know I need to convert it back to the correct format that MySQL wants to have it in, in order for it to be saved, but I'm not sure on how to do this. This is what I have so far in my update script (for the due date): $duedate = $_POST['duedate']; $timestamp = strtotime($duedate); date('Y/m/d', $timestamp); $query = "UPDATE films SET filmname= '".$filmname."', duedate= '".$duedate; Can somebody please point me in the right direction to have the new date, when processed, converted back to the accepted format by MySQL. I appreciate any help given! Thanks.

  • rich:tabPanel and problems when filed has required="true"

    - by JQueryNeeded
    Hello, Let's consider following, simplified example: we have 2 tabs withing , each tab has and at the moment we want to switch from one tab to another, and the inputText is empty (we dont want to submit value from it anyway, we want to go to another tab) we get "Validation Error: Value is required." the example code: <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd"> <html xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml" xmlns:ui="http://java.sun.com/jsf/facelets" xmlns:h="http://java.sun.com/jsf/html" xmlns:f="http://java.sun.com/jsf/core" xmlns:a4j="http://richfaces.org/a4j" xmlns:rich="http://richfaces.org/rich" > <a4j:form id="mainForm" reRender="mainForm" ajaxSubmit="true" > <rich:tabPanel switchType="ajax"> <rich:tab label="TabA" > <a4j:region> <h:outputText value="Tab A content" /> <h:inputText value="" required="true" /> </a4j:region> </rich:tab> <rich:tab label="TabB"> <a4j:region> <h:outputText value="Tab B content" /> <h:inputText value="" required="true" /> </a4j:region> </rich:tab> </rich:tabPanel> <rich:messages /> </a4j:form> </html>

  • PHP APC and Pecl upload progress returning false/null.

    - by Keyo
    This is a long shot. I believe this might be suhosin patch issue. Here is my php from codeigniter: public function uploadprogress($id) { if ($id) { header("Cache-Control: no-cache, must-revalidate"); header("Expires: Mon, 26 Jul 1997 05:00:00 GMT"); echo json_encode(apc_fetch('upload_'.$id)); exit(); } } public function uploader() { $this->load->view('myid/' . $this->router->class . '_uploader'); //phpinfo(); } script: <script type="text/javascript"> $(document).ready(function(){ var progress_key = $('#progress_key').val(); // this sets up the progress bar $('#uploadform').submit(function() { setTimeout(beginUpload,1500); return; }); function beginUpload() { $("#progressbar").progressbar({ value:0}).fadeIn(); var i = setInterval(function() { $.getJSON("/myid/videos/uploadprogress/" + progress_key, function(data) { alert('data'); if (data == null) { clearInterval(i); location.reload(true); return; } var response; eval ("response = " + data); if (!response) return; var percentage = Math.floor(100 * parseInt(response['bytes_uploaded']) / parseInt(response['bytes_total'])); $("#progressbar").progressbar({value:percentage}); }, 1500); }); } }); </script> Has anyone had strange troubles with this before? The upload key is the same on the view and the uploadprogress method. I've Tried apc and pecl upload-progress both return false or null. I wondering if it's just suhosin patch messing up everything?

  • Rails form protection questions, hidden field

    - by user284194
    I have a live rails website and I want to have a form with a lot of fields on it. I have set up validations and allowed formatting for every field. I've tested it quite a bit and it seems to catch anything I throw at it. I think it's almost ready to go live, but I want to quadruple check if there's anything else I should do to protect it. My site has a low volume of visitors, but I want it to be a safe as possible. I'd like to avoid using a captcha if I can. I've read that you can use a hidden field to protect forms against bots. Do people recommend this instead of using a captcha, or even using it with a captcha? my form is really standard: <% form_for(@entry) do |f| %> ... <%= f.submit 'Create' %> <% end %> Any suggestions or code samples would be greatly appreciated.

  • xVal and Regular Expression Match

    - by gmcalab
    I am using xVal to validate my forms in asp.net MVC 1.0 Not sure why my regular expression isn't validating correctly. It validates with the value of "12345" It validates with the value of "12345 " It validates with the value of "12345 -" It validates with the value of "12345 -1" It validates with the value of "12345 -12" ... etc For a zip code I expect one of the two patterns: 12345 or 12345 -1234 Here are the two regex I tried: (\d{5})((( -)(\d{4}))?) (\d{5})|(\d{5} -\d{4}) Here is my MetaData class for xVal [MetadataType(typeof(TIDServiceMetadata))] public class TIDServiceStep : TIDDetail { public class TIDServiceMetadata { [Required(ErrorMessage = " [Required] ")] [RegularExpression(@"(\d{5})|(\d{5} -\d{4})", ErrorMessage = " Invalid Zip ")] public string Zip { get; set; } } } Here is my aspx page: <% Html.BeginForm("Edit", "Profile", FormMethod.Post); %> <table border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"> <tr> <td> <h6>Zip:</h6> </td> <td> <%= Html.TextBox("Profile.Zip")%> </td> </tr> <tr> <td> <input type="submit"/> </td> </tr> </table> <% Html.EndForm(); %> <% Html.Telerik().ScriptRegistrar() .OnDocumentReady(() => { %> <%= Html.ClientSideValidation<TIDProfileStep>("Profile").SuppressScriptTags() %> <% }); %>

  • jQuery + Jeditable - detect when select is changed

    - by Bryan Roth
    I'm using Jeditable for in-place editing. One the controls I am working with has the select type. When a user clicks on the field, the following select control is generated: <div id="status" class="editable_select"> <form> <select name="value"> <option value="Active">Active</option> <option value="Inactive">Inactive</option> </select> <button type="submit">Save</button> <button type="cancel">Cancel</button> </form> </div> What I am trying to figure out is how to use jQuery to detect when that select control is changed, especially since it doesn't have an ID attribute. This is what I have so far, but the event is not getting triggered: $(document).ready(function () { $('#status select').change(function () { alert("Change Event Triggered On:" + $(this).attr("value")); }); });

  • ASP.MVC 2 RTM + ModelState Error at Id property

    - by Zote
    I have this classes: public class GroupMetadata { [HiddenInput(DisplayValue = false)] public int Id { get; set; } [Required] public string Name { get; set; } } [MetadataType(typeof(GrupoMetadata))] public partial class Group { public virtual int Id { get; set; } public virtual string Name { get; set; } } And this action: [HttpPost] public ActionResult Edit(Group group) { if (ModelState.IsValid) { // Logic to save return RedirectToAction("Index"); } return View(group); } That's my view: <%@ Page Title="" Language="C#" MasterPageFile="~/Views/Shared/Site.Master" Inherits="System.Web.Mvc.ViewPage<Group>" %> <asp:Content ID="Content2" ContentPlaceHolderID="MainContent" runat="server"> <% using (Html.BeginForm()) {%> <fieldset> <%= Html.EditorForModel() %> <p> <input type="submit" value="Save" /> </p> </fieldset> <% } %> <div> <%=Html.ActionLink("Back", "Index") %> </div> </asp:Content> But ModelState is always invalid! As I can see, for MVC validation 0 is invalid, but for me is valid. How can I fix it since, I didn't put any kind of validation in Id property? UPDATE: I don't know how or why, but renaming Id, in my case to PK, solves this problem. Do you know if this an issue in my logic/configuration or is an bug or expected behavior? Thank you

  • FCKEditor doesn't set Value property on postback!

    - by Shaul
    I'm using FCKEditor on my asp.net web page. It appears beautifully, and the editor looks really good on the front end. Only problem is, the .Value property is not being set on the postback. No matter what changes the user makes to the value of the control on the page, when I click "Submit", the .Value property remains blank. I have Googled for other solutions, and most of them are of the variety where there's some conflict with Ajax, such as this and this. My problem is not solved by these solutions; it's much more fundamental than that. I'm not doing anything to do with Ajax; I'm just a simple asp.net newbie with a simple web form, and the value property is not being set on postback, not in IE and not in FF. It appears that at least one other person has had this problem, but no solution yet. Any ideas? Thanks! New information: I tried this out on a "hello world" test web site - and the test web site works 100%. There is obviously a problem on my page, but I have no idea where to begin tracking this down. • How do I add a URL parameter to redirected login page using JSF 2.0

    - by Big Al
    I have a question about session timeouts and JSF 2. I have my exception handler working exactly the way everyone prefers but I need to pass a value to the login page. For example, I have a typical login URL - www.acme.com/?companyId=company14 which in turn presents company14 with their own custom login page (using their logo). After they enter the application and do a bit of work, they read an email or 2. The session times out and a session timeout page is shown instructing the user to click Ok to proceed to the login page. How do I add ?companyId=company14 to the URL? I can hardcode it in the exception handler by using this: requestMap.put("companyId", "company14"); and then referring to it on the viewExpired.xhtml page: <h:panelGrid id="expiredGrid" columns="1"> <f:facet name="header"> <h:outputText id="outExpireMsg" value="Your session has expired"/> </f:facet> <h:outputText id="outReqMessage" value="Reloading the page will require login."/> <h:outputText value=""/> <h:button id="okButton" type="submit" value="Ok" outcome="login?companyId=#{companyId}"/> </h:panelGrid> The issue is I can't seem to save the companyId anywhere without it getting wiped out by the session timeout. I'd like to set the companyId in the exceptionhandler using this value. Any ideas?

  • Get data from database without refresh whole page

    - by stefanz
    Hello everybody. My project is about a school admin I have a page called : createClass.php, where user inserts grade, profile etc. When he press "submit" page called createdClass.php is loading. Inside this page I have all code which insert data into database and also an "if" structure which says : "Class already exists" if in database is another class with same specifications. Also in second page (createdClass.php) i have a small table which shows the place of each student. First time all cells are green (this means that place is free) and if i click one of them appear a popup window which let me to add info about student from that place. If a place is busy the cell will be red (take a look here : http://screencast.com/t/NzM2YzYxNjct). The big problem is that the cell will be red only after refresh the page (the place ask for data from database). If I press refresh appears "class already exists". To test the code i added in a comment all lines which verify and add respectively classroom . I think my problem can be solved with ajax. I'm waiting for an answer. Regards Stefan

  • Dynamic Table CheckBoxes not having a "Checked" true value

    - by LuvlyOvipositor
    I have been working on a web app using ASP.NET with the code base as C#. I have a dynamic table that resizes based on a return from a SQL query; with a check box added in the third cell of each row. The checkbox is assigned an ID according to an index and the date. When users hit the submit button, the code is supposed to get a value from each row that is checked. However, when looping through the rows, none of the check boxes ever have a value of true for the Checked property. The ID persists, but the value of the checkbox seems to be lost. Code for adding the Checkboxes: cell = new TableCell(); CheckBox cb = new CheckBox(); cell.ApplyStyle(TS); cb.ID = index.ToString() + " " + lstDate.SelectedItem.Text.ToString(); if (reader["RestartStatus"].ToString() == "0") { cb.Checked = false; cb.Enabled = true; } else { cb.Checked = true; } cell.Controls.Add(cb); The code for getting the checkbox value: for (int i = 0; i < CompTable.Rows.Count; i++) { int t3 = CompTable.Rows[i].Cells[2].Controls.Count; Control temp = null; if (t3 0) { temp = CompTable.Rows[i].Cells[2].Controls[0]; } string t2 = i.ToString() + " " + lstDate.SelectedItem.Text.ToString(); if ( temp != null && ((CheckBox)temp).ID == i.ToString() + " " + lstDate.SelectedItem.Text.ToString()) { //Separated into 2 if statements for debugging purposes //ID is correct, but .Checked is always false (even if all of the boxes are checked) if (((CheckBox)temp).Checked == true) { tlist.Add(CompTable.Rows[i].Cells[0].Text.ToString()); } } }

  • In ParallelPython, a method of an object ( object.func() ) fails to manipulate a variable of an object ( object.value )

    - by mehmet.ali.anil
    With parallelpython, I am trying to convert my old serial code to parallel, which heavily relies on objects that have methods that change that object's variables. A stripped example in which I omit the syntax in favor of simplicity: class Network: self.adjacency_matrix = [ ... ] self.state = [ ... ] self.equilibria = [ ... ] ... def populate_equilibria(self): # this function takes every possible value that self.state can be in # runs the boolean dynamical system # and writes an integer within self.equilibria for each self.state # doesn't return anything I call this method as: Code: j1 = jobserver.submit(net2.populate_equilibria,(),(),("numpy as num")) The job is sumbitted, and I know that a long computation takes place, so I speculate that my code is ran. The problem is, i am new to parallelpython , I was expecting that, when the method is called, the variable net2.equilibria would be written accordingly, and I would get a revised object (net2) . That is how my code works, independent objects with methods that act upon the object's variables. Rather, though the computation is apparent, and reasonably timed, the variable net2.equilibria remains unchanged. As if PP only takes the function and the object, computes it elsewhere, but never returns the object, so I am left with the old one. What do I miss? Thanks in advance.

  • PHP, MySQL: Receive email, auto search in DB & send email based on the results

    - by Devner
    Hi all, Visitors can contact staff by means of contact form (visitor needs to submit email as well). This will be stored in DB. Now considering that staff responds to this message, the reply from the staff would be sent to the visitors email directly. Say if the user wants to follow up on the message sent by the staff, I would like the visitor to just hit the reply button in his email service & send me his questions on the same topic, but just retain the ID in the Subject line. So when the visitor send this email, I would like to receive the email & at the same time, try to search in my DB if the ID that is present in the email subject, actually exists in the system. If yes, that would be sent back to the same staff member who handled the response previously or it would be assigned to a new staff member. That being said, I was thinking of how to do this. The part where I am really held up is when the staff receives the actual email from the visitors email, how can I check the DB? Say I am/staff is receiving emails at [email protected]. When visitor sends reply email, then it would be sent to [email protected]. How can I check to see if the ID in the subject line of the email that I received at [email protected], actually exists in my DB in my website? This is where I am really stuck. Looking forward for your replies. Thank you.
