    I want to publish a post to user's wall..for this first i am making user to log in and getting the session id also...but in order to publish i need the user to grant me publish_stream permission..so immmediately after i am obtaining auth_token by capturing url of the login success screen, i am making call to http://www.facebook.com/connect/prompt%5Fpermissions.php? with "api_key","ext_perm","display" as parameteres..but when the above url is redirected and displayed on BrowserField i am seeing "Incompatible web browser " instead of the permission granting dialog or popup..i will be greatful if anyone can help...thanx a lot

    I think I am missing something while using the Authlogic gem w/ Rails. To set the stage I have multiple users and each user can create posts and comments. Upon the display of a post or comment I would like to give the user who created them the option to edit or destroy.     Right, to begin my question, here's some screenies of the problem already solved by the Spotify app: Spotify's Step 1: Standard UISearchBar not in editing mode. Spotify's Step 2: UISearchBar now in editing mode. Search term entered. Cancel button slides in from the right, and the clear button (grey x) appears. Spotify's Step 3: Cancel button pressed; keyboard slides out and the search bar is no longer in editing mode. Search term remains and the grey x button is now hidden. At present, the following code fires off when my cancel button is pressed: - (void)searchBarCancelButtonClicked:(UISearchBar *)searchBar { [searchBar resignFirstResponder]; [searchBar setShowsCancelButton:NO animated:YES]; } Which results in: My Step 3: Search bar now not in editing mode. Cancel button and keyboard has slid out. Search term remains but so does the grey x. So, my question is this: given that -resignFirstResponder (and -endEditing:, FYI) does not hide the grey x button when a search bar has had text entered into it, how does one hide it?   • Getting Tap/Touch Position when selecting a TableView cell

    Hi, hope to get some help here because this is something that really makes me mad... I have a view with a tableView, and when I tap a cell I want to present a popOver window pointing the arrow to the cell I tapped. the things that I think I need is: 1- the position of the cell in the screen (not in the view, because on large tables the Y value of the cell's rect could be grater than screen hight) or 2- a CGPoint or something similar that represents the point in the screen I tapped. I can't figured this out, and makes me really mad!!! Any help will very very very very usefull. Have a nice day.

  • Prevent illegal behavior to the registered user

    I am building a website in which this website will be focused on the publishing of novels. Every writers who publish their novels with us will get a royalty from us. And this royalty comes from the user or the reader who read the novel online in our website. When a user search for a novel and want to read that, they will click a link to the page which its content is that novel. The html page for each novels will have a session function that first will force them to login or register to make a payment such as with a credit-card or paypal before accessing that html page. My problem now is if the user has succesfully login and access the html page, I am afraid if the user will copy the content of the novel. Some disccussion out here How to Disable Copy Paste (Browser) have a solution to create it in Flash so that it can't be coppied-paste. But the I think, if the user who access it is a web developer like us they will try to find the path of the file from the link in the page source, and then they can steal it. For now I think it is enough I am explaining this. I hope anyone fully accept this problem (question) with a good idea to solve it.

    To extend the User object with custom fields, the Django docs recommend using UserProfiles. However, according to this answer to a question about this from a year or so back: extending django.contrib.auth.models.User also works better now -- ever since the refactoring of Django's inheritance code in the models API. And articles such as this lay out how to extend the User model with custom fields, together with the advantages (retrieving properties directly from the user object, rather than through the .get_profile()). So I was wondering whether there is any consensus on this issue, or reasons to use one or the other. Or even what the Django team currently think?

  • ASP.NET: Custom MembershipProvider with a custom user table

    I've recently started tinkering with ASP.NET MVC, but this question should apply to classic ASP.NET as well. For what it's worth, I don't know very much about forms authentication and membership providers either. I'm trying to write my own MembershipProvider which will be connected to my own custom user table in my database. My user table contains all of the basic user information such as usernames, passwords, password salts, e-mail addresses and so on, but also information such as first name, last name and country of residence. As far as I understand, the standard way of doing this in ASP.NET is to create a user table without the extra information and then a "profile" table with the extra information. However, this doesn't sound very good to me, because whenever I need to access that extra information I would have to make one extra database query to get it. I read in the book "Pro ASP.NET 3.5 in C# 2008" that having a separate table for the profiles is not a very good idea if you need to access the profile table a lot and have many different pages in your website. Now for the problem at hand... As I said, I'm writing my own custom MembershipProvider subclass and it's going pretty well so far, but now I've come to realize that the CreateUser doesn't allow me to create users in the way I'd like. The method only takes a fixed number of arguments and first name, last name and country of residence are not part of them. So how would I create an entry for the new user in my custom table without this information at hand in CreateUser of my MembershipProvider?

    There might have been a restriction on originating (making) calls (voice or data) from mobile phones without an explicit user permission i.e. a window would pop-up, asking the user to press 'Yes'/approve or 'No'/cancel for a call attempt made by a software application on that cellphone/mobile. There seems though to exist API for making calls, voice calls and data calls, on various embedded OS like WM, Symbian and Android. Do they require a user button-press then?

  • Why isn't my UITableView in a popover appearing in the correct scroll position?

    I have a split view-based app that presents a master-detail interface, and uses a popover to present the master list when in portrait mode. The popover presents a sectioned table view that ultimately gets populated by a subclass of NSFetchedResultsController. I can tap the tool bar button to present the master list, scroll to whatever row, and tap the row to dismiss the popover. My problem is that if the table is scrolled past the top of the second section, when I dismiss the popover and then later tap the toolbar button to re-present it, the table's scroll position is always set such that the first row of the second section is at the top of the list. If I haven't scrolled past the top of the second section, it correctly remembers its scroll position when the table is presented again. Similarly, in landscape mode, if I scroll the table past the top of the third section and then rotate to portrait, when I come back to landscape the scroll position is always set such that the first row of the third section is at the top of the list. I tried calling -scrollToNearestSelectedRowAtScrollPosition:animated in both the master view controller's -viewWillAppear, as well as in the split view delegate's splitViewController:popoverController:willPresentViewController:, to no effect. Anybody have a clue what I might be doing wrong?

    I'm looking for a solution to create a sort of template in Objective C. I'll try to explain my problem. I would create a sort of main view which has 1 side bar that remain always visible. This side bar have controls. The main view is responsible to load a Navigation Controller (UINavigationController seems to be ok) that manages other views. When switching a view to another, the sidebar always remain visible under the Navigation Controller and its views. Through the controls of the sidebar, it's possible to send event to a specific view loaded by the Navigation Controller. Any idea to create a similar template? Thank you. Best regards.

    Once a page with a textarea is loaded, I want some textarea to have the focus immediatly if the mouse cursor is inside that textarea. This is the easy part because a onmousehover handler can set the focus. Now, how to I also set the position of the caret? I would like the caret to be where it would be if the user had clicked using the mouse to set the focus/caret. The basic use case is : User clicks on a link and waits (mouse barely moves) A page is delivered, it contains a big textarea only, full of text User types using keyboard Characters are inserted right below the mouse cursor Today the user has to wait until the caret is visible (at the top left of the textarea) and then click to move the caret before typing. A serial number may be granted per-machine (or per-operating-system) or per-user (as for CAL in Windows Server: if my application is used by several users on one machine or if it is used by one user on several machines). Is it a right thing to do it or is it completely wrong? Will it work on every Windows machine? (For example, using motherboard serial is wrong)

    I'm not a .NET developer, and I have a feeling this would be trivial for someone who is: I have a C# web application that makes user of the user credentials of the logged in user. Currently it uses the SID which comes from System.Security.Principal.WindowsIdentity.GetCurrent().User.Value I need to get either the users UPN login or email address (as defined in active directory) instead of the SID. GetCurrent() returns an object of type WindowsIdentity; looking in the details for WindowsIdentity Members: MSDN: WindowsIdentity Members I can't see anything that looks like it would give me either the UPN or email in there. How can I pull up that information to use, either by feeding the SID into some other function or calling something different in the first place.
