• Play audio file data - Spring MVC

  In my web-application, I have various audio clips uploaded by the users in the database stored in the BLOB column. The audio files are low bit rate WAV files. The clips are secured, one can see only those clips he has uploaded. Instead of user downloading the clip and playing it in his player, I need it be steamed online in the web page itself. In the jsp I use the <audio> tag with the source mapping to the controller mappping url. <td> <audio controls><source src="recfile/${au.id}" type="audio/mpeg" /></audio> </td> Where, the recfile is the request mapping and the au.id is the audio id. But when I play it nothing happens. Why is it? Am I missing anything in the configuration? Am I doing it right?

These operations are called by content or option menu. I tried to create these code into a separated function and call it after every operation. But can't. I think setContentView(CView) statement. I also tried to use SimpleCursorAdapter like notepad sample from Android.com. I got Thread error. Help me.

• MSAcpi_ThermalZoneTemperature class not showing actual temperature

  i want to fetch CPU Performance data in real time including temperature. i used the following code to get CPU Temperature: try { ManagementObjectSearcher searcher = new ManagementObjectSearcher("root\\WMI", "SELECT * FROM MSAcpi_ThermalZoneTemperature"); foreach (ManagementObject queryObj in searcher.Get()) { double temp = Convert.ToDouble(queryObj["CurrentTemperature"].ToString()); double temp_critical = Convert.ToDouble(queryObj["CriticalTripPoint"].ToString()); double temp_cel = (temp/10 - 273.15); double temp_critical_cel = temp_critical / 10 - 273.15; lblCurrentTemp.Text = temp_cel.ToString(); lblCriticalTemp.Text = temp_critical_cel.ToString(); } } catch (ManagementException e) { MessageBox.Show("An error occurred while querying for WMI data: " + e.Message); } but this code shows the temperature that is not the correct temperature. It ususally shows 49.5-50.5 degrees centigrade. But I used "OpenHardwareMonitor" that report CPU temperature over 71 degree centigrade and changing fractions along with time fractions. is there anything I am missing in the code? I used the above code in timer_click event for every 500ms interval to refresh the temperature reading but it's always showing the same temperature from the beginning of execution. That implies if you run this application and if it shows 49 degree then after 1 hour session, it'll constantly show 49 degree. Where is the problem? please help. Thanks in advance.

• WPF MVVM UserControl Binding "Container", dispose to avoid memory leak.

I have a window, with a bindable usercontrol <UserControl Content="{Binding Path = BindingControl, UpdateSourceTrigger=PropertyChanged}"> I have two user controls, ControlA, and ControlB, Both UserControls have their own Datacontext ViewModel, ControlAViewModel and ControlBViewModel. Both ControlAViewModel and ControlBViewModel inh. from a "ViewModelBase" public abstract class ViewModelBase : DependencyObject, INotifyPropertyChanged, IDisposable........ Main window was added to IoC... To set the property of the Bindable UC, i do ComponentRepository.Resolve<MainViewWindow>().Bindingcontrol= new ControlA; ControlA, in its Datacontext, creates a DispatcherTimer, to do "somestuff".. Later on., I need to navigate elsewhere, so the other usercontrol is loaded into the container ComponentRepository.Resolve<MainViewWindow>().Bindingcontrol= new ControlB If i put a break point in the "someStuff" that was in ControlA's datacontext. The DispatcherTimer is still running... i.e. loading a new usercontrol into the bindable Usercontrol on mainwindow does not dispose/close/GC the DispatcherTimer that was created in the DataContext View Model... Ive looked around, and as stated by others, dispose doesnt get called because its not supposed to... :) Not all my usercontrols have DispatcherTimer, just a few that need to do some sort of "read and refresh" updates./. Should i track these DispatcherTimer objects in the ViewModelBase that all Usercontrols inh. and manually stop/dispose them everytime a new usercontrol is loaded? Is there a better way?

• ASP.NET websites under IIS 7.5 (Windows 7) running extremely slow

  I've just installed Windows 7 x64 Ultimate on my desktop PC. I installed IIS, Visual Studio 2008, registered ASP.NET, etc. I have this ASP.NET 3.5 website I'm working on running EXTREMELY slow on this new IIS. On STA and PROD servers (Windows 2003 Server) and on my old XP/IIS 5.1 everything runs smoothly. A page which usually takes 1-2 seconds to load is taking 8 seconds!!! I saw this post on IIS forum. It says something about Vista/7 not pooling connections (just to let you know, the website is running locally but it's connecting to a SQL Server 2005 hosted on a remote server). It seems that it takes a while to "start loading" the page... I mean, I click refresh and it stays for several seconds "Waiting for localhost"... Then when it gets response it loads the whole page normally... I don't have a clue how to force Win7/IIS7.5 to pool database connections. EDIT: I've created a new empty ASP.NET web application to see if the problems happens too. The answer is no, it responds fast as it should with an empty default page. Maybe is something related to the DB connection. I will do a further test. It should be a way to fix it... EDIT 2: Debugging the app I noticed that the delay occurs AFTER the execution of .NET code (Page_Load, etc)... so the delay seems to be somewhere when IIS serves the page to the browser.

  I'm trying to render the report viewer programmatically within a custom Page placed in an IHttpHandler context ReportViewer rv = new ReportViewer(); ReportDataSource rds = new ReportDataSource(); rds.Name = "Report"; rv.LocalReport.ReportPath = "Report.rdlc"; rds.Value = SomeReportObject; rv.LocalReport.DataSources.Add(rds); rv.LocalReport.Refresh(); ScriptManager scriptHandler = new ScriptManager(); MyPage p = new MyPage(); p.Controls.Add(scriptHandler); p.Controls.Add(rv); using (TextWriter myTextWriter = new StringWriter()) { using (HtmlTextWriter myWriter = new HtmlTextWriter(myTextWriter)) { p.RenderControl(myWriter); } } Although I have the ScriptManager added to the page but the runtime complains that the ReportViewer needs one, it throws the following exception at p.RenderControl(myWriter) line The Report Viewer Web Control requires a System.Web.UI.ScriptManager on the web form. And this is the MyPage Class public class MyPage : Page { public override void VerifyRenderingInServerForm(Control control) { //Empty Method } public override bool EnableEventValidation { get { return false; } set { /* Do nothing */} } } Any help would be very appreciated. • How to improve WinForms MSChart performance?

  Hi all, I have created some simple charts (of type FastLine) with MSChart and update them with live data, like below: . To do so, I bind an observable collection of a custom type to the chart like so: // set chart data source this._Chart.DataSource = value; //is of type ObservableCollection<SpectrumLevels> //define x and y value members for each series this._Chart.Series[0].XValueMember = "Index"; this._Chart.Series[1].XValueMember = "Index"; this._Chart.Series[0].YValueMembers = "Channel0Level"; this._Chart.Series[1].YValueMembers = "Channel1Level"; // bind data to chart this._Chart.DataBind(); //lasts 1.5 seconds for 8000 points per series At each refresh, the dataset completely changes, it is not a scrolling update! With a profiler I have found that the DataBind() call takes about 1.5 seconds. The other calls are negligible. How can I make this faster? Should I use another type than ObservableCollection? An array probably? Should I use another form of data binding? Is there some tweak for the MSChart that I may have missed? Should I use a sparsed set of date, having one value per pixel only? Have I simply reached the performance limit of MSCharts? From the type of the application to keep it "fluent", we should have multiple refreshes per second. Thanks for any hints!

  I have a requirement where I have to display some data (from a custom db) and let the user export it to an excel file. I decided to use the ReportViewer control present in Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer. I added the required assembly to the project references and I add the following code to test it out protected override void CreateChildControls() { base.CreateChildControls(); objRV = new Microsoft.Reporting.WebForms.ReportViewer(); objRV.ID = "objRV"; this.Controls.Add(objRV); } The first error asked me to add this line in the web.config which I did and the next error says The type 'Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal.Analytics.UI.ReportViewerMessages, Microsoft.SharePoint.Portal, Version=12.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=71e9bce111e9429c' does not implement IReportViewerMessages Is it possible to use ReportViewer in my custom Web Part? I rather not bind a repeater and write my own export to excel code. I want to use something which is already built by Microsoft? Any ideas on what I can reuse? • SSRS 2005 - Cascading parameters and default value update problem

  I have a report with cascading parameters. The first parameter is Finanical Period Type, being either Month or Week. The second parameter is a list of either financial months or weeks depending on what was selected for the first parameter. This all works well and selecting a series of different Financial Period Types in sequence correctly updates the second parameter's values. However I now wish to add a default value for the second parameter, which is once again dependent on the first parameter. So I've added an additional field to the dataset populating the second parameter called DefaultPeriod and set the second parameter's default value to be retrieved from the above field. The first time I select the Financial Period Type, the default is correctly set. However changing the Financial Period Type results in an updated list for the second parameter, but the default is incorrect. It remains set to the original default value, even thought the dataset has been refresh and the DefaultPeriod field is correct. This is both an issue in the IDE and on the Report Manager site.

  I have a problem with a script for a image gallery. The problem seems to only occur on Safari and Chrome, but if I refresh the page I get it to work correctly - weird! Correct function: The gallery has a top bar, which if you hover over it, it will display a caption. Below sits the main image. At the bottom there is another bar that is a reversal of the top bar. When you hover over it, it will display thumbnails of the gallery. The problem: In Safari and Chrome, the thumbnail holder will not display. In fact, it doesn't even show it as an active item (or a rollover). But oddly enough, if you manually refresh the page it begins to work correctly for the rest of the time you view the page. Once you have left the page and return the same error occurs again and you have to go through the same process.   Hello, I was trying to enable navigation based on a selected row. • how does scrolling in android listview work?

  hi, i have an android-app with a listview in an activity. the listview has, if i call it so, three data states. no data loaded from inet - only one dummy item is visible, saying that data is loading data is loaded and shown in list one listitem is clicked and now shows more information for this listitem (so it is increased in its height) on every state change (1 - 2, 2 - 3) i call notifyDataSetChanged() on this ListAdapater. this causes the listview to scroll down to the last item. this is ugly in the first transition and even more ugly in the second because the clicked list item is now out of focus. as i can see, this happens with a google g1 with android 1.6. a htc touch with the same sdk acts like desired (i try to figure it out with some more devices). to avoid this i tried to read out getScrollY() and set this value back. but this returns 0. the reason for this return value i already found on stackoverflow in other qutestions. does anyone else comes along with my problem so far? why does the listview scrolls to the last item? it was mentioned, that listview does keep track on the scroll position. but it seems that it does not in my case. or may i call the wrong refresh method? is notifyDataSetChanged the correct one?

• Common vulnerabilities for WinForms applications

  I'm not sure if this is on-topic or not here, but it's so specific to .NET WinForms that I believe it makes more sense here than at the Security stackexchange site. (Also, it's related strictly to secure coding, and I think it's as on-topic as any question asking about common website vulnerabiitles that I see all over the site.) For years, our team has been doing threat modeling on Website projects. Part of our template includes the OWASP Top 10 plus other well-known vulnerabilities, so that when we're doing threat modeling, we always make sure that we have a documented process to addressing each of those common vulnerabilities. Example: SQL Injection (Owasp A-1) Standard Practice Use Stored Parameterized Procedures where feasible for access to data where possible Use Parameterized Queries if Stored Procedures are not feasible. (Using a 3rd party DB that we can't modify) Escape single quotes only when the above options are not feasible Database permissions must be designed with least-privilege principle By default, users/groups have no access While developing, document the access needed to each object (Table/View/Stored Procedure) and the business need for access. [snip] At any rate, we used the OWASP Top 10 as the starting point for commonly known vulnerabilities specific to websites. (Finally to the question) On rare occasions, we develop WinForms or Windows Service applications when a web app doesn't meet the needs. I'm wondering if there is an equivalent list of commonly known security vulnerabilities for WinForms apps. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few.... SQL Injection is still a concern Buffer Overflow is normally prevented by the CLR, but is more possible if using non-managed code mixed in with managed code .NET code can be decompiled, so storing sensitive info in code, as opposed to encrypted in the app.config... Is there such a list, or even several versions of such a list, from which we can borrow to create our own? If so, where can I find it? I haven't been able to find it, but if there is one, it would be a great help to us, and also other WinForms developers.

• Problem with cascade delete using Entity Framework and System.Data.SQLite

  I have a SQLite DB that is set up so when I delete a Person the delete is cascaded. This works fine when I manually delete a Person (all records that reference the PersonID are deleted). But when I use Entity Framework to delete the Person I get an error: System.InvalidOperationException: The operation failed: The relationship could not be changed because one or more of the foreign-key properties is non-nullable. When a change is made to a relationship, the related foreign-key property is set to a null value. If the foreign-key does not support null values, a new relationship must be defined, the foreign-key property must be assigned another non-null value, or the unrelated object must be deleted. I don't understand why this is occurring. My trigger is set to clean up all related objects before deleting the object it was told to delete. When I go into the model editor and check the properties of the relationship it shows no action for the OnDelete property. Why isn't this set correctly by pulling it from the DB? If I change this value to Cascade everything works properly, but I would rather not rely on this manual change because what if I refresh my model from the DB and it looses that. Here's the relivent SQL for my tables. • jqGrid local data manipulation; problem with row ids when deleting and adding new rows

  I'm using jqGrid as a client side grid input, allowing the user to input multiple records before POSTing all the data back at once. I'm having a problem where if the user has added a few records (say 3 ) the id's for the records will be 1,2,3. if the user deletes record 2, you're left with 1 and 3 for the id of the records. When the user now adds a new records, jqGrid assigns that records the id 3 again since it just seems to count the total records and increments it by one for the new record. This causes problems when selecting rows as now the row id's are 1, 3 and 3. Does anyone know how to access the row ids of records as I could probably use the afterSubmit event and reassign the row id's increasing from 1. ( so after i delete row id 2, this will set the other row id's to 1 and 2) Any other suggestions to solve this problem? For some reason it causes the row numbers down the left side to go start from 2 instead of one. Edit this was solved by using the latest jqGrid code in GitHub (27th April 2010)

• Using SharePoint label to display document version in Word 2007 doesn't work when moved to another l

  I am surfacing the Document Library version of a Word 2007 document by creating a Label ({version}) within the content type of the Document Library and adding it as a Quick-part Label in the Word 2007 document. This works great. The latest version always shows up when I open the Word document. I also added this Version quick-part field to the footer of the Word document and then added this document as a document template to my content type, "ContentTypeMain". Now, I can go to my Document Library and I can create a New instance of "ContentTypeMain" with the Version field automatically there. This works great as well. However, if I create another Document Library and add the same Content Type, "ContentTypeMain" to it, the value of the Version quick-part doesn't update or refresh. The only way is to add another copy of the Label quick-part. It seems like the Quick-Part Label that maps to the Document Library Version is unique to the Document Library. My application dynamically creates subsites using site definitions and list templates. Thus the document library in each of the subsites are all being created from the same List Template. I inspected the XML files under the hood of the Word Document and it does look like there is a GUID attached to the Quick-Part Version field.
