  • Out of memory while iterating through rowset

    Hi All, I have a "small" table of 60400 rows with zipcode data. I wan't to iterate through them all, update a column value, and then save it. The following is part of my Zipcodes model which extends My_Db_Table that a totalRows function that - you guessed it.. returns the total number of rows in the table (60400 rows) public function normalizeTable() { $this->getAdapter()->setProfiler(false); $totalRows = $this->totalRows(); $rowsPerQuery = 5; for($i = 0; $i < $totalRows; $i = $i + $rowsPerQuery) { $select = $this->select()->limit($i, $rowsPerQuery); $rowset = $this->fetchAll($select); foreach ($rowset as $row) { $row->{self::$normalCityColumn} = $row->normalize($row->{self::$cityColumn}); $row->save(); } unset($rowset); } } My rowClass contains a normalize function (basicly a metaphone wrapper doing some extra magic). At first i tried a plain old $this-fetchAll(), but got a out of memory (128MB) right away. Then i tried splitting the rowset into chunks, only difference is that some rows actually gets updated. Any ideas on how i can acomplish this, or should i fallback to ye'olde mysql_query()

    Ok, this is driving me nuts! I have a directory structure as follows: application - modules -- default --- controllers --- models ---- DbTable ---- Cachmapper.php --- views My config file looks like this [production] phpSettings.display_startup_errors = 0 phpSettings.display_errors = 0 includePaths.library = APPLICATION_PATH "/../library" bootstrap.path = APPLICATION_PATH "/Bootstrap.php" bootstrap.class = "Bootstrap" resources.frontController.moduleDirectory = APPLICATION_PATH "/modules" resources.modules[] = The application seems to work, if I navigate to localhost, it correctly goes to the index controller. But, for some reason it refuses to load any models. Fatal error: Class 'Model_Cachmapper' not found in .............................../application/modules/default/controllers/IndexController.php on line 26 Ideas? Thanks

  • Circular Reference exception with JSON Serialisation with MVC3 and EF4 CTP5w

    Hi I'm having problems with a circular reference when i try and serialise an object returned via EF4 CTP5. Im using the code first approach and simple poco's for my model. I have added [ScriptIgnore] attributes to any properties that provide a back references to an object and annoyingly every seems to work fine if i manually instantiate the poco's, i.e. they serialise to JSON fine, and the scriptignore attribute is acknowledged. However when i try and serialise an object returned from the DAL i get the circular reference exception "A circular reference was detected while serializing an object of type 'System.Data.Entity.DynamicProxies.xxxx'" I have tried several ways of retreiving the data but they all get stuck with this error: public JsonResult GetTimeSlot(int id) { TimeSlotDao tsDao = new TimeSlotDao(); TimeSlot ts = tsDao.GetById(id); return Json(ts); } The method below works slightly better as rather than the timeslot dynamic proxied object causing the circular refference its the appointment object. public JsonResult GetTimeSlot(int id) { TimeSlotDao tsDao = new TimeSlotDao(); var ts = from t in tsDao.GetQueryable() where t.Id == id select new {t.Id, t.StartTime, t.Available, t.Appointment}; return Json(ts); } Any ideas or solutions to this problem? Update I would prefer to use the out of the box serialiser if possible although Json.Net via nuget is ok as an alternative i would hope its possible to use it as I intended as well...

    I am trying to extract the GET parameters from a ZF REST URL. It's not the current request and I don't want to call the URL or execute the route, I just need the parameters. I'm looking for a utility function like parse_url(), but for the Zend REST format. Is there one, or do I have to reinvent the wheel? I've tried a few things like creating a new Zend_Controller_Request_Http but the parameters aren't being populated. It is a valid HTTP URL. Edit: Upon request, a sample Zend URL: http://localhost/index/index/param1/foo/param2/bar So I am just trying to get param1 and param2 out of this URL.

    Hi, I am trying to use ZendX_Jquery and i don't how know to autoload this file in bootstrap. I am doing require_once("ZendX/JQuery.php"); on my file Bootstrap.php i also tried $autoLoader = Zend_Loader_Autoloader::getInstance(); $autoLoader->registerNamespace('ZendX_'); but it did not work is there any elegant way of autoloading files in diretories? EDIT: Changed ZendX_jQuery to ZendX_JQuery (case sensitivity) on my bootstrap.php file

    This is a tad complicated, and please, I know all the arguments against natural PK's, so we don't need to have that discussion. using VS2012/MVC4/C#/CodeFirst So, the PK is based on the date and a corresponding digit together. So, a few rows created today would be like this: 20131019 1 20131019 2 And one created tomorrow: 20131020 1 This has to be automatically generated using C# or as a trigger or whatever. The user wouldn't input this. I did come up with a solution, but I'm having problems with it, and I'm a little stuck, hence the question. So, I have a model: public class MainOne { //[Key] //public int ID { get; set; } [Key][Column(Order=1)] [DatabaseGenerated(DatabaseGeneratedOption.None)] public string DocketDate { get; set; } [Key][Column(Order=2)] [DatabaseGenerated(DatabaseGeneratedOption.None)] public string DocketNumber { get; set; } [StringLength(3, ErrorMessage = "Corp Code must be three letters")] public string CorpCode { get; set; } [StringLength(4, ErrorMessage = "Corp Code must be four letters")] public string DocketStatus { get; set; } } After I finish the model, I create a new controller and views using VS2012 scaffolding. Then, what I'm doing is debugging to create the database, then adding the following instead of trigger after Code First creates the DB [I don't know if this is correct procedure]: CREATE TRIGGER AutoIncrement_Trigger ON [dbo].[MainOnes] instead OF INSERT AS BEGIN DECLARE @number INT SELECT @number=COUNT(*) FROM [dbo].[MainOnes] WHERE [DocketDate] = CONVERT(DATE, GETDATE()) INSERT INTO [dbo].[MainOnes] (DocketDate,DocketNumber,CorpCode,DocketStatus) SELECT (CONVERT(DATE, GETDATE ())),(@number+1),inserted.CorpCode,inserted.DocketStatus FROM inserted END And when I try to create a record, this is the error I'm getting: The changes to the database were committed successfully, but an error occurred while updating the object context. The ObjectContext might be in an inconsistent state. Inner exception message: The object state cannot be changed. This exception may result from one or more of the primary key properties being set to null. Non-Added objects cannot have null primary key values. See inner exception for details. Now, what's interesting to me, is that after I stop debugging and I start again, everything is perfect. The trigger fired perfectly, so the composite PK is unique and perfect, and the data in other columns is intact. My guess is that EF is confused by the fact that there is seemingly no value for the PK until AFTER an insert command is given. Also, appearing to back this theory, is that when I try to edit on of the rows, in debug, I get the following error: The number of primary key values passed must match number of primary key values defined on the entity. Same error occurs if I try to pull the 'Details' or 'Delete' function. Any solution or ideas on how to pull this off? I'm pretty open to anything, even creating a hidden int PK. But it would seem redundant. When I click on a row and then hit a button to perform an action when I bind to a List CurrentRowIndex is -1.   • Adding custom validator without using Zend_Form's addElementPrefixPath

    The problem is that I don't use Zend_Form, so I can't use the built in capabilities. I usually look for three things when setting a validator: - its path (usually in library/path/validators/MyValidator.php) - its class name (tried Validators_MyValidator) and - in application.ini, the autoloaderNamespaces[] = "Validators" I've tried different settings/namings/layouts to no avail. When using a validator in my Zend_Validate_Input, an exception occurs, saying that it couldn't find my plugin/validator, the classes being searched only in Zend/Validate with the Zend_Validate prefix (I didn't try this prefix, though). Wasn't there a setting in app.ini that added a prefix and a path?

    All, I am looking for some web application design ideas here. I have a server X that hosts an SDK, which has the capacity to talk a piece of hardware. When I make an HTTPS request from an external PHP web application (hosted on Server Y) to Server X through curl, Server X gives JSON data as a response. I use this data to render my UI for the web app on Server Y. The above method seems to be slow and has a tendency to fail in production if there are too many concurrent requests. Can anybody let me know if there is an alternative to CURL or any other design people are using to pull data like this from servers? Thanks

    Hi Stackers, What is the best way to access my models and forms from a controller of a module? Let's explain with "pictures": /application/module/storage/controllers/IndexController.php needs to call readAction in the class called storage_Model_Files in /application/module/storage/models/Files.php I've made this app's dir structure and these forms and models with zf.sh (Zend_Tool). I've read about all sorts of ways of manually including these files. I want to lazy load them much like everything is done automatically with the default module. I can't seem to find how in the docs. Does that make sense? I have: resources.frontController.moduleDirectory = APPLICATION_PATH "/modules" in my application.ini file. So I can access my controllers fine. Thanks for your help!
